  • We’ve had a problem with our Espar D2 Diesel heater in our Sprinter camper van - it was frequently having trouble firing up and would belch white smoke from the exhaust when this was happening.
We first tried a simple fix, replacing the fuel filter at the Espar fuel pump. See our video for that installation - hopefully it will help if you’re having this problem: • HOW TO REPLACE FUEL FI...
If you’ve already tried that and still have this problem, then this video is for you.
And if you need to install the High Altitude Kit, check out this video: • ESPAR HIGH ALTITUDE KI...

I’ve had these in Peterbilt trucks for years now. I run kerosene instead of diesel fuel. Burns so much cleaner and your screen will give no problems for years. I have them run for 8 to ten years before you need to replace anything.

Thank you for showing the detail. Espar has a video that isn’t nearly as clear as yours. Be safe sir.

This is so true. I was just about to comment on that. Theirs isn't so clear and they miss vital to know information like the proper placement of the screen and a more detailed view of cleaning the inside.
This video is what I needed.

Hi there - the slotted socket is a 12mm deep socket. Is that what you're asking about?
