For me the pinnacle of R16ty century music. As a trombone player I never got tired of playing this glorious music. Hop to get to Venice one day to hear it en situ.
Could you tell us the great difference between the trombone at the Gabrielli's time and the nowadays (contemporary) trombone ?
Giovanni Gabrieli is said to be one of the world's first orchestral composers. No wonder why things were set in motion not long after his works; everyone wants a piece of that glory!
The culmination of the sublime.
It's difficult for me to describe how good this is. Thanks for uploading!
The best of the best, the Empire Brass is, and Telarc is as good as gold if you're looking for the finest recordings of anything. I first began listening to these Gabrieli Telarcs in 2016.
Used to some work with this group. And I got paid for it!!!
A live performance in a large cathedral should never be missed, as Gabriella split the musicians up into small ensembles, which could be in up to four different places in the church. The man invented stereo and quadraphonic music in the most spectacular of ways.
Interesting,like your comment,
thanks...
Fantastic. One of the greatest ensembles and a great Telarc recording 🦁🕊️🎼
Utterly magic. Stunning playing and Gabrieli's brass music is exhilarating. Thank you so much for posting this.:-)
Agree. Uttely magnificent music and playing here.
Great set, wonderful delightful sounds! It was fun to hear silly piece I enjoyed singing in the 1980s and to be reminded of its title again!
Best pickerupper in the
morning!Thanks for sharing...
Grazie mille !
No one like him!
Possibly the GREATEST composer ever.
for music around 1600 this was pretty original. Alas that didn't last long. By the end of the century Europe was stuffed with 'italian' and composers were not genuine anymore thus copied others and that means death to creativity.
If only Bach had been more creative
👍💪🎺🎺🎺💪 👂😐👂,
Sonata 13...
This is an absolutely epic collection. Who is the sad idiot who thumbs-downed this.
Perhaps an enthusiast of the hip-hop 'music' genre!
perhaps some purist who heard the sound of an unhistorically accurate valve being pressed...
@@bigbeddie Best CZcams comment-reply ever. 🤣
@@stthomasmore4811 🤭 thank you!
Probably because of the sound quality.
Interesting. The Galliard (07 @ 19:33) is attributed to Samuel Scheidt. Anyone know anything more about this? It's a different ending, than the Canadian Brass Scheidt versions, but still sounds the same overall. Is a nice treat, but seemed odd to hear it when the album title is "The Glory of Gabrieli"
Thank you for uploading this. Would really like to know date of recording and the personnel on this recording. Thanks!
The personnel list and publish date are available on the CD's Amazon page.
