Giovanni Gabrieli is said to be one of the world's first orchestral composers. No wonder why things were set in motion not long after his works; everyone wants a piece of that glory!

Grazie mille !
Utterly magic. Stunning playing and Gabrieli's brass music is exhilarating. Thank you so much for posting this.:-)
Agree. Uttely magnificent music and playing here.
Used to some work with this group. And I got paid for it!!!
For me the pinnacle of R16ty century music. As a trombone player I never got tired of playing this glorious music. Hop to get to Venice one day to hear it en situ.
Could you tell us the great difference between the trombone at the Gabrielli's time and the nowadays (contemporary) trombone ?
A live performance in a large cathedral should never be missed, as Gabriella split the musicians up into small ensembles, which could be in up to four different places in the church. The man invented stereo and quadraphonic music in the most spectacular of ways.
Interesting,like your comment, thanks...
👍💪🎺🎺🎺💪 👂😐👂, Sonata 13...
Great set, wonderful delightful sounds! It was fun to hear silly piece I enjoyed singing in the 1980s and to be reminded of its title again!
this was beautiful. thank you for sharing!
Fantastic. One of the greatest ensembles and a great Telarc recording 🦁🕊️🎼
No one like him!
Possibly the GREATEST composer ever.
The culmination of the sublime.
Best pickerupper in the morning! Thanks for sharing...
for music around 1600 this was pretty original. Alas that didn't last long. By the end of the century Europe was stuffed with 'italian' and composers were not genuine anymore thus copied others and that means death to creativity.
If only Bach had been more creative
It's difficult for me to describe how good this is. Thanks for uploading!
The best of the best, the Empire Brass is, and Telarc is as good as gold if you're looking for the finest recordings of anything. I first began listening to these Gabrieli Telarcs in 2016.
*W la Repubblica Italiana! W Sardinia!
Interesting. The Galliard (07 @ 19:33) is attributed to Samuel Scheidt. Anyone know anything more about this? It's a different ending, than the Canadian Brass Scheidt versions, but still sounds the same overall. Is a nice treat, but seemed odd to hear it when the album title is "The Glory of Gabrieli"
🎄Thank you! 🎄

Perhaps an enthusiast of the hip-hop 'music' genre!
perhaps some purist who heard the sound of an unhistorically accurate valve being pressed...

Probably because of the sound quality.

Those extra straps (in red, on this example) are to tie under your nose (when wearing the mask), to tighten the mask and stop the filter canister from flopping about. Later masks, as you probably know, had a length of cord running from the top of the mask to the part where the filter attaches. These straps look like a field modification. But in fact, this is prescribed in a German "Gasschutz" manual I found online. I suspect they're red to aid visibility, as the wearer will need to find them in a hurry while wearing his mask. (I'm a translator, and I'm currently doing a lot of research into WW1 German gas masks and tactics for a translation project.)
I didn’t know the German gas masks were cans!
What website did you buy this on?
Most likely from a person rather then a website, id guess the best guess would be ebay or some other ebay like site.
That looks awesome!
The extra fabric on the sides of the eye portals are used to push your thumbs into and wipe away condensation from the inside of the eye lenses. The same design was used with British and US masks as well.
Krdoz83 Ooooooooohhhhh... that makes so much sense thanks man
very nice
how much did you pay for it?
The long strap would have been to hold the gas mask around the neck at the ready. Lots of times they didn't know if the gas had dissipated. Not sure on the brown lace strap could have possibly been another strap to hold the dog tag as it is very similar
Nice Gummimaske! These are definitely the more rare of the German gas masks of WWI
I think the extra fabric is to clean the lenses by putting your finger from the front at it.
Hey there, nice catch. Congratulations on this nice mask :) Where to buy such a beauty? Thanks for your help!
Where did you got it 😃😃
Finally bought mine today in great condition without the can though sadly :,< its fully intact no rips etc :) size 2 as well :) btw I have those two extra straps I believe it to be for attaching it to a horse as they used them for that before actually gas masks for horses were made! hope it helps
