    I think Inside Out 2 is a worthy sequel, but the first one is still noticeably better. Most people are overrating the sequel because we haven't seen a genuinely good Disney movie in a long time, without political ideology and without flat characters. But that doesn't mean we have to lose objectivity.

      @adampkalb Před měsícem +4

      Trust me, I know how that feels. 1 1/2 years ago, when I saw Turning Red for the first time on Disney+, I loved it too much just because of something bad it was not. I was unusually happy about Turning Red because it performed the paradoxical miracle of being a kid-friendly version of the plot of Cuties and made Mei Lee a much better main character to watch than Amy ever was.

      I am someone who has had Inside Out to be his favorite Pixar movie as I have watched it 19 times. After rewatching it last month and now watching the second one this past week, I honestly do think that I like it better than the first. There were some funny moments and they put the other 3 OG emotions more in the spotlight which I really liked, and the new emotions were really fun too. I also think the adding of fun brain words such as a brainstorm and a sar-chasm was fun. And even the more serious moments which I guess weren’t as impactful as the first one still really stuck with me, especially the part where Joy mentions when you grow up you feel less joy, which is what really got me

I know the feeling of always thinking the worst. Punishing yourself by bad thoughts is hard to live with. So maybe it's my personal feelings but I relate much more to the second than the first

    -Toy Story 2 the when she loved me scene/song with Jessie and her previous Owner
    -Riley with the Anxiety Attack and Anxiety herself having a panic attack and Anxiety Storm
    -Even Finding Dory had the scene where Dory was following the shells and finding her parents then they give her a big hug.

    Like the second instalment, Inside Out (2015) debuted at a period where we thought Pixar had declined.
    Between Toy Story 3 and Inside Out we had Cars 2, Brave and Monsters University, while 2/3 of these were not inherently bad, the writing was insipid and didn’t compare to the movies that debuted prior, they were even disputing between Inside Out and a movie called Newt.
    Albeit Inside Out debuted and reinvigorated the notion that for every mediocre movie Pixar could churn out, they can sporadically produce emotionally evocative movies that live up to their classics.

    I understand everything you said. But ima give my take as a teen on why I adore this movie. About the less drama here, I like it. How many of us get to say that we almost ran away from home? Not many. How many of us have felt down and alone and is so desperate to fit in that we change ourselves completely? Many more of us. It makes it so much more relatable and that’s what these series is for me. I disagree with the sad scene coming early, it still had an impact on me, showing joy get angry and anger consoling her perfectly sums up “mixed emotions” imo. Did the adventure feel repetitive? A bit. Do I still love it nonetheless? Absolutely! I love how it sums up panic attacks and how it personifies anxiety, I love Riley’s personal life this time and I love the adventure too. My only issue is Envy. She was kinda useless. Other than that, I adore this movie. Is it better than the first? No. But it’s close. Does it have to be better than the first? No. Do I still love it just like the targeted audience was supposed to? Absolutely.

    DUDE, Riley *INJURED* one of her best friends and didn't care. That was when Anxiety realized SHE MESSED UP ROYALLY. Are you kidding? And she snuck into the school to try and get information about herself. Riley doesn't sneak into the school, she also doesn't blow off her friends, Anxiety was putting her through possible social-suicide to look good for the team. Riley just ran away in the first movie, but she did have a moment when she didn't feel ANYTHING. Also, the WHOLE POINT of Joy looking at the discarded memories was that she looked at what happened in the memories. It's about subtext. SHE tossed those memories away, now she sees their value. In the original movie, she's regretful of the memories RILEY WILL lose.

    • @MusuemBucket
      @MusuemBucket Před měsícem +1

      I understand but imo, even though running away from home isn’t relatable, it still found ways to feel for Riley and the whole scene because her whole plan about running away later turned into depression not allowing making her to feel anything, after regretting the plan, she came back home to express her pain and grief about her new life. I really liked Anxiety’s Panic Attack section but the build up was kinda meh

    • @billiey8995
      @billiey8995 Před měsícem

      @@MusuemBucketBesides, i sure as hell don't feel happy once again and ready to play a sport after an anxiety attack, my mind still needs to rest for some hours so I can go back to being myself. It wasn't even mentioned what Riley's parents said about hearing that their daughter had an anxiety attack, it feels like more than de-stigmatizing it they are normalizing it as something that happens to everyone and they just have to think more positively and swallow it so they can be happy once again.
      Honestly, I would have none of these complaints if this movie wasn't marketed and made as a sequel to a perfect movie. The job of a sequel is to make the stakes bigger, otherwise just make and original movie so it doesn't have the pressure to complement the original.
      In puss in boots 2 and the into the spider verse short: the spider within, both made the aftermath of a panic attack and its ramifications a lot more realistic, having someone you trust to accompany you to slowly calm yourself, speak about what is causing your distress and then slowly moving on.
      Also, what happened to Meg from the first movie? I feel like this movie could've focused on how she and Riley fell apart and teach kids that sometimes that's life. If Riley already lost her childhood friend I don't get why she would be that upset about some friends she met one year ago at most.

    Mnn once again although agree 100% this sequel is not near as good as the og, which btw make me CRY ugly tears twice (bing bong and climax just in case someone ask, not need to say more) and the sequel just didn't pack that much punch I kinda was a bit disappoint as I heard a lot of good stuff from critics, so I form probably too high of expectations..............I still not think this was a BAD FILM, and not just not bad, it was solid GOOD, again not as great as the first one but....surely....NOT A 6 OUT OF 10, again with internet critics, is or 100% perfect or is 100% bad or 100% mediocre, and no this film is not 100% mediocre (which to me a 6 will always be)......this film is not perfect and I agree on all your points, but dude........we have seen WORST wayyy worse....even from Disney and Pixar, like Lightyear was really bad, Cars 2 was REALLY BAD, Brave was really MEDIOCRE (NOW that's a 6)....you tell this one was like those? again agree all your points different than your last review I didn't....in this one you describe everything I felt watching this movie, even the positives, and yet you give it a 6?.....how is that LOW......yes again not as good as the OG, but I wasn´t expected that and again to me the positive feedback so many other critics gave it is why I may expected a bit more of this, you might be the only critic actually say this film is not that good, but then you kinda ruin it put it so down..........to me this film easily get an 8 but I will agree if you gave it a 7, it fit there, but to me 6 is just a average mediocre things not fit for trash but not good eaither, and you can't tell me this one is not at least decent and also.....not a 100% agree Pixar have been that bad.....they have a series of films I not like much like again Lightyear and Elemental (which I admit is not that bad I still give elemental a 7)....Soul despite was adore by many I didn't like it, agree is a nice film but for me is another 7.......Luca and Turning Red are actually good films, I don't care how many people try to put those 2 downs and time have actually turn these into beloved films and these and still MODERN PIXAR.......Incredible 2 is seriously flawed but.,...can you really tell me you haven't seen worse.....Toy Story 4 I hate the concept and disliked the ending, but even that one I can with a straight face say was bad I can give it below 8 because will be very stupid of me say that one have no positives and the positives eclipse any negative for the most part......to me awful films are things like Ralph Breaks the Internet, WISH, Frozen 2, Strange World now that all mediocre to straight out bad.....that fit those extremes.....again I agree on your take and criticism but the score is just bit too low to I agree, Inside Out 2 is way above all the crap Disney have been putting out in general and at least for that I can easily recommended this one.....also may not put me in tears, but the climax of this film actually manage to make me tear up just a bit, and in my book a film that accomplish that is not a 6 out of 10.
