From what I understand Pegasus abandoned work on the Wicked Gods when he realized they were, well evil. After his death in the manga one of his adopted kids found out about them, got possessed by said cards and finished making them.
If pegasus really wanted to contain the Egyptian gods, then he should have created a spell/trap card that prevents the summoning of level 8 or higher monsters.
Pegasus whole reason for creating duel monsters was to gather the millennium items and resurrect his deceased wife. He could have gone a better route when collecting the millennium items. Had he just talked to Yugi he could have convinced him to help, but instead he stole his grandfather’s soul.

And the Pegasus goes and makes a third set of god cards in the Sacred Beasts that are stored under Duel Academy. Like this man created world ending god cards not one, not twice but three whole times and never once said to himself maybe I shouldn’t publish these cards
Really I always thought Jaden past life as the Supreme King of the gentle Darkness create a sacred beast cards to use as weapons against the light of destruction that was why I was made thT Jaden didn't get to keep the cards after he won the dual

Based on the anime when he received the M.eye he was told the eye had its limits, maybe he can see possible futures but not the way to achieve them. His attempts to change events is only his human judgement working against him. He didn't believe in the heart of the cards.
He never finished it but his protoge Yakko did and incorporated them into his Rebirth of Avatar plan. You know, since Pegasus died from the shock of having the Millennium Eye ripped out of his skull in the manga

More specifically, the Wicked Dreadroot is modeled after Obelisk the Tormentor, the Wicked Eraser is modeled after Slifer the Sky Dragon, and the Wicked Avatar is modeled after the Winged Dragon of Ra, more specifically while in it's Sphere Mode
If I was Pegasus I'd make myself an undefeatable monster card that has an infinite spell speed 5 omni negate, summon negate, battle phase negate, that disregards card effects so it can respond to superpoly, forbidden droplet, dark ruler no more, counter traps, etc. I also would make it so that it cannot be removed from my side of the field except by battle and it's effect cannot be negated no matter what happens 😂😂😂
No he didn't create them, in the anime he clearly says he only sealed there the manifestation of the gods, the wicked avatar was before exodia was used in the mortal realm.

In the manga he made them. But didn't finish and got killed by Bakura. Anime decided to ignore the fact that he got killed and kept him in the story to use whenever they wanted
