Many oranges that we are offered in the UK are disappointing, so last Christmas I bought a small crate direct from a farmer in Spain and they were wonderful - all different sizes, with different thickness of skin and varying shades of orange but every single one was delicious. I'm going to do the same this Christmas, and I'll use one to make this cake, Alberto. With love and sunshine from Spain.

I just made this and as always it’s OMG delicious. I did use vegan egg replacer and I swapped the oil for maple syrup and it turned out really well. Not as aesthetically beautiful as Alberts but a good close second 👍

I was feeling very ill this morning. I have been wanting to make Spanish Orange Cake. I just made it. Ready for oven. Ill let you know if it tastes good because I kinda messed up a little bit. Ha.

I haven't seen any comment about it below, so I'll just mention: Be very careful with the caramel when it comes out of the pan. It's extremely hot, and most importantly, _sticky_. If you touch it, you'll certainly get a significant burn. Be careful when working with molten sugar.
I adore cooking but Desserts are not my thing. I don't always make them successfully. Lunch with friends this Sunday and I pulled "The short straw" of Dessert. I am going to axe my usual Vegan Chocolate Cake and give this one a go. You made it look so simple but it also looks so delicious.

With the orange, this would make a lovely dessert treat for Christmas. 🎅 Could you substitute the granulated sugar, all purpose flour and Greek yoghurt for coconut palm sugar, buckwheat flour and coconut yoghurt?

Can I use an egg replacement powder because vegan?
I don't know about the powder, but if you can get Just Egg, that will definitely work. If the powder becomes a liquid, then it should work.

I tried to get my sugar and water to brown like yours but it never got brown, just clear with a lot of crystals. I used 1 cup of water and 2 table spoons of water and it didn't work for me. Any suggestions? Thanks.
give it a mix once in a while and cook for a bit longer, all pans heat differently and make sure your heat is at a medium heat :) much love
