Part 1 (Interview)
What do candidates have to do? Respond to questions, giving factual or personal information.
How long do candidates have to speak? 2 minutes.
Part 2 (Extended turn)
What do candidates have to do? Describe one colour photograph, talking for about 1 minute.
How long do candidates have to speak? 3 minutes.
Part 3 (Discussion)
What do candidates have to do? Make and respond to suggestions, discuss alternatives and negotiate agreement.
How long do candidates have to speak? 4 minutes.
Part 4 (General conversation)
What do candidates have to do? Discuss likes, dislikes, experiences, opinions, habits, etc.
How long do candidates have to speak? 3 minutes.
Cambridge English speaking tests take place with one or two other candidates, and two examiners. This makes your test more realistic and more reliable.
They are both really great. I think their level is even B2, not B1! They had no problem at all talking about the pictures and issues they were given.
I agree - well above B1. I don't know if there are other examples - I hope so because these two, especially Roberto, are too good to show my much more average students. It will make them even more nervous about the exam!
We understand everything they want to say but they make grammar mistakes, that's why it's a B1 level and not a B2 level.

For everyone stressing out about the exam, these are NOT your run of the mill B1 students. Their level is a lot higher, vocabulary wise they are excellent too. So don't stress out.
I'm really nervius for the exam and when I've seen this video I was thinking about if the A2 it's a better option for me, so thank you

Oh, gosh. I really want to have an exam like that. I always had the dream to be a translator, and i know someday I must take this test. I'm just 15 and i never had the opportunity to take a class of English because of my economy situation. Therefore, i've had to study by myself all these years. I've been studying English since i was 8 and the only thing i've always wanted is to show to all my family that I'm able to go beyond their expectations with this beautiful and wonderful language.
I just want to say: Cambridge, see you soon!

What I don't like about these exams is speaking part ,when the participants should speak and interrapt each other in order to show their communication strength . For instance here Simone seems to be more friendly one ,who asks and makes it possible for Roberto to show his speaking skills. Meanwhile Roberto's behavor is more selfish , he is not communicating , just playing "a one-way street " game . I think it's not fair .
It's a test, don't be so strict on him. I'm sure the correctors know how to grade them fairly!:)

As a qualified examiner, I can absolutely assure you that all of the interaction patterns are taken into consideration, and we will ensure that each candidate is allowed to speak for sufficient time to be able to showcase their knowledge and skills. In the last section, more of the questions are directed at Simone for this reason.

But they weren't speaking about academic situations, B1 level is enough to understand all of daily conversations, if they were B2, they'd use academic language more.
Not true. I saw a video with 2 ladies attempting b2 speaking part. These guys were better.

I'm preparing for my B1 exam tomorrow! For me, these videos are really useful for getting to know the environment better. Even though my skills in speaking aren't as good as in the other parts, I'm hopeful about getting an alright score in it!

@@polisi13 it was better than i expected!! the people there are A LOT more friendly than they seem in the videos and the exam wasn't hard, just like the usual stuff i revised for! i can't tell you about the speaking part cause my brain tuned out and was going on pure adrenaline 🥴

I just registered in the platform and my overall score was 165, so I passed at Grade A.
I'm going to have PET on 25-27 of May.

their pronuncation is very good so They have a clear voice like a native speaker I like them
I will have this test on Saturday and this video help me a lot in the speaking part to prepare, and the boys are really good on this test, they haven't any issue in describe the images and they don't have a lot of issue on the conversation, thanks so much Cambridge for provide this video to prepare for the text.

I learn passivelly English for almost 13 years, actively 10 years, but I am not that good like these boys... Even when I am older than them, I still have to learn more... But learning English, French and Japanese at the same time can also be so difficult... Everything takes time... But I really enjoy watching this exams and I don't even know the reason xD

i have my exam on 18th of 2024 and these cambridge videos were really good for me to learn about speaking test
I watched this so that i can know English and can be a native speaker. They speak very nice and they are like native speakers I like it very much. They have some grammar mistakes but I still love it. I will watch this video when I want to.

The power of youth!I'm 46 and I'm a B1 level,but I started studying english 5 years ago when I came to England to work and these guys speak absolutely a good English compered me...I think their parents have spent good money for their education,for their age they have a good accent.So,or they can go abroad to improve their speaking or,if they usually stay in Italy,they have an amazing english teacher😁😁😁.....anyway in ten years I hope to achieve my B2 English level....🤣🤣
