The supreme court overturned part of the original voting rights act requiring Texas, Georgia, Florida and some other southern states requiring them to submit all redistricting and voting laws to the DOJ for approval. The Supreme Court ruled this part of the bill was no longer required and was outdated. This needs to be challenged by our new AG and reinstated by the courts.

I don't think that is the right move here since there are plenty of Texans who oppose voter suppression laws and if you were to cut aid and funding to Texas a lot of innocent will suffer. I don't think that is the right move here since there are plenty of Texans who oppose voter suppression laws and if you were to cut aid and funding to Texas a lot of innocent will suffer. What we need is HR 1 so that more people can come out and vote, this will either vote the Republican party out or they have to actually start making changes within their party ideologies to adjust to the changing ideologies of the demographic.
