gently presses tire downward * abrupt fade to black* .... *fades back in* to severely scratched rim and a guy in a different outfit
whawhahahah
I had to re-watch it and now I can't stop laughing!
So funnyyyyyy
I swear if it’s not as easy as he made it look imma be pissed also… why didn’t they just make them tubeless to begin with?
@@rudewizard85 tbh id say do not attempt this. Its not worth the pain and frustration. The amount of pressure you have to apply on the tool just feels incredibly unsafe. Pay more for the tubeless 🙏🏼
Lmao you completely cut out the 4 hours and superhuman strength it takes to put the tire back on.
LOL I dare you to post an unedited end-to-end video
Dude it took me about 12 hours to change my tire lol
Please explain step by step how he managed to put the tire on so easily. Your video is very far fetched from how anyone would ACTUALLY install this tire.
Ong bro
I made two Jigs from an old 2x4. One for the front and one for the back. For the back, I am drilled a hole that was big enough to put the axle through. I secured it to a table. I put the wheels on as far as I could. I had my helper put a screwdriver through one of the holes in the tire and lever it up as I pressed the tire into place. Once we got it on the rim, I used the screwdriver to readjust the tire so it fit. I used a jig with a smaller hole for the front. Same work. Took 20 minutes per tire
Step 1- Soak In Volcano Lava for 1 Minute.
Step-2 Have Hulk work it around the rim using Thors Hammer.
All done. Easy DIY….
best comment !!! 🤣🤣🤣
do you know if this could work on a turboant x7 pro rim? i got a flat on the way home from work today and was hoping these might be a good replacement
can you post what size Allen key you need in the description
So, if i've tried to get this on myself and can't.....where do i take it to have it done? In Phoenix.
How do you install an new front tire?
What size alin key was used?
My back tire poped on my g4 and I got like a 4weeks ago😢 so I need to know if I can get solid tiers for it so I won’t get anymore flats.
Does anyone know what size tire I need for the Gotrax G4 model? Please
soap definately helped. and having the tires "steamed hot" with gloves on to work on them. It took two of us, one wedging the tire around and the other holding a long screwdriver. It was about 20 minutes per tire. Go Trax, please create an updated video with the actual process. (realistic and helpful). thanks
How did you remove the front tire?
I’m trying to remove the cover with the Allen key but the screw is so tight in that it’s very close to stripping the screw... does the honeycomb come with an Allen key to use? I might have to buy that.. because it seems that none of the Allen keys that I have work..
I got the same problem , non of my allen key works
Same here...tried everything and it doesn't work
What size allen wrench do you need to undo the tire. The one you send doesnt fit and neither do any of my others.
Number 3
Can I know, what size Allen key please?
Does anyone know where to buy just the rim of a gotrax Xr elite scooter
Over a year ago they promised a better video in comments and this is still all they have. Now here I am and these tires seem nigh impossible to change and I wish I had never bought this scooter with how much trouble it is.
What’s the allen wrench size for both bolts on the tire?? I know the smaller one is 3m
What is the bigger one one the tire? None of my allen wrenchs fit
I come into this video looking for help and you just spit in my face.
Did u put the tire in hot water first ?
You can´t just "press" on the tyre by hand. These tyres are hard. Demands pre-warming the tyre to get it softer, then i use dishwasherfluid around the rim for easy glide. But you still have to use muscle AND tools to press it on.
Can you put honey comb tires on an APEX GOTRAX SCOOTER?
What allen size did you use for rear tire replacement?
4mm
That video is very misleading. That guy put the tire on the rim in less than 3 minutes. Its taking me hours. Why doesn't the video say how hard it is to put the tire on the rim???? The scooter should have been made with the airless honeycomb tires already on.
Put vegetable oil spread over the outside of the rim.. boil the airless tire in hot water for like 10 minutes and just use strength to stretch tire around rim while it is hot (use gloves) I used screwdriver to help in some places and put knee to hold tire while I stretched the tire around the rim.. I got both tires on within a 30mins!
Did this exact technique with Vaseline 👍🏽
Where do you live and can I hire you to do mine lolol
Notice he's wearing something different from when he started mounting the tire to when it's finished. That's because it took him multiple days to install
Here is a better how to, czcams.com/video/uLj5PZMuOgg/video.html
Yo…I don’t see the honeycomb on your website…cmon guys I need to make it to work. I’m disabled and can’t ride a regular bike or afford another option. I invested the little I have in this scooter…and now the rear tire is deflated…I wanted to get the honeycomb but it’s not on the website to order. It’s Easter Sunday and I can’t get anyone on the horn. No family or friends. Just work. And I can’t even do that anymore now…help me guys please.
the fender broke. I cannot take it off to replace it. There's a one-piece cable with a metal head that makes impossible removing it. Any advice?
The cable is removable by itself on the other end and then put it back together. I just left the brake off it slows down the scooter and not a real much of help breaking.
I'm still working on putting on the tubeless honeycomb tire...its been a week of nonstop battle
Any advice? I've been boiling mine and using Vaseline but I keep trying with no success
@@breakerandtaker73 all you really need is to boil a tire and secure it to the rim with zip ties, work it with a tire iron or if you dont own those a good long screwdriver will work as well (3 of them), it's easier if you have someone to help you hold the rim in place if you dont have a vice or a way to stabilize the rim. I think putting it on soft ground would work as well cuz it wouldnt slide around.
Ok after reading all the comments and getting a good laugh I used a microwave for 2 1/2 minutes and 3 tire spoons and a friend. Five minutes of working it around and it popped right on.
But why are the screws on the gxl v2 so tight? How can I solve this?
yeah, I can't get the screw off either, lol
After 5 min microwave heating it is not hat bad. It takes time to figure it out.
Watching these how to videos got me afraid to even attempt to change my tire 😩😂 the new tire been sitting there forever.. still in plastic 🤣
But I think I’ve found some good info..
We’ll see… I’ll try in another few months 😭😭 JK
The bolts on the back of my scooters are fucked up and this is the first time I even looked at it because I’m changing the tire to honeycomb and it’s literally fucked up and I’m so fucking pissed
Which size is the Allen key ?
Good morning did they ever tell you which Allen key to use because I have to take a tire off and I don’t have allen wrenh
THis is an old video so I'm not expecting an answer, but can these be installed on the XR Elite?
If you find an 8.5 in x 2.5 in honeycomb/solid tire it will fit the XR Elite
@@GOTRAX Thank you so much. This is very helpful. I'm so tired of getting flats!
When I tried unscrewing the first screws the stripped. What do I do now???
Try placing a rubber band between the allen wrench/screwdriver and the screw! That will give better grip and should help get the screw out. Otherwise you can also get stripped screw kits from local hardware stores.
The bolt came stripped on my scooter what do I do!!??
Tip to anyone doing this, put the honeycomb tire you want to put on in boiling water for a while so it softens up before you try to put it on.
Does this actually work
@@erickcerda8597 No, you have to boil it, then have the incredible hulk come over to your house with a six foot pry bar, a twelve pound sledgehammer, an anvil, ten zip ties, a pair of heavy duty leather gloves, a half dozen extra large c-clamps, some kind of heavy duty lubricant, and a custom built mounting rig, and then after 6 hours of back breaking, finger crushing, profanity spewing work and severe damage to your rims and brake disc, you might get it on. Or not.
@@classiccoop oh ok that I’ll call him over right now
You guys need to make a new video on how to actually get it on as well as showing how to install it in the front
So, I was able to get mine one but it took a crowbar and a lot of muscle to lever it on. Took about a good 30 mins and the rim is scratched all to hell but I shouldn’t need to do this again lol
What size wrench u need to take out the gotrax car ultra back tire
A 4mm Allen Wrench.
@@GOTRAX u sure can I send someone from gotrax a photo so u guys could be sure
@@GOTRAX I’m talking about what wrench u used for 1:24 when u took it out
These comments are gold.
Could you please tell me what is the size of the tyre
8.5" by 2" inches! For our larger models it would be 10" by 2 1/2".
@@GOTRAX thank you mate .
Could you please give the link for buying .
For the model TT- EL- 851
Does it work for front tyre as well?
both tires/tubes can be replaced by a honeycomb tire!
Why wouldn’t it?
My rim broke and I can’t find any replacements but less someone tell me what to do
Please Contact our Customer Support Team: gotrax.com/pages/contact
Im having trouble with this tight ass tired wtf gotrax
I need that tire, where can I get it?
Amazon
The reality of watching this video makes it no way as easy as it looks,I can almost guarantee you will have your work cut out.
"work the tire on" not me dying to even fit half a side.
But boil the tire a like 15 mins use gloves and soapy water and then use all the strength in your body to push it on with pry bars. Have a friend to help makes it easier.
What Allen key do I need to take the cover off
5/32 size Allen key should work.
Have been struggling with this, their suggested one makes no sense
Just take the scooter and solid tires to a tire shop. They cut the old tires off and installed the solids in about 5 minutes. Charged me $10 for labor. I spent 3 days boiling tires, microwaving, stretching, buying tire tools and destroying my hands. just, go, to, tire, shop... LOL
I have 4 weeks whit my replacement tire on my closet ajjajajaja
What is the size of the Allen Wrench
Sizes 2.5 & 5
You gave me an allen key to big for my gotrax :/
They mentioned 3mm and then 4mm and now something different again
Boil for 10 minutes is a must and some lube. Took about ten minutes very tricky
How does it ride with those tires?
Buy urself a big ass crowbar and 2 smaller pry bars. You need 2 people and boil for 20 minutes ten on each side. It helps but its still a fkn pain in the ass! Gotrax up ur game and preinstall them. This was my sons only way to work and the tube split down the seam. He hasnt even owned it that long.
It definitely does not “fall into place”
The allenkey that came with my gotrax is too big to use :/
i dint even get one with it lmao!
That's a brand new scooter tire he changing for a person that actually rides their scooter the screws get worn . It's a hassle to change
These are indeed a pain, but there is a trick to make it a little easier. Soak the tire in HOT water for about 10 minutes before trying this. Also, try a little dish soap around the rim to help slip it on. Make sure to dry up all the water and soap before trying to ride.
Great tips!
Thanks man
It’s really not that easy! Gotta use hot water and soap
He cut out the part where he said f this an had a shop do it
wasnt to hard but putting the tire on only took me about 7 mins max
Constructive Criticism: Please post another video explaining how to put it on the tubeless tire. This video skips through the most difficult and important part of the process and customers who spend their money on a tubeless tire (i.e., myself and many others) probably won't be able to put it on by following this video... I bet 99% of people cannot. I know I can't and I have fixed and changed many of the tubed tires for my friends and myself. The ONLY video I have found at this point in time of someone successfully doing the change is someone boiling the tire first and being aggressive with multiple tire irons.
PLEASE POST A MORE COMPLETE AND INTENSIVE VIDEO! This is a necessity for the kind of product that a tubeless tire is and overall good customer service. Please listen to the comments. Thanks!
Thanks for the constructive criticism. We strive to give our customer the best support we can and will definitely look at creating a better and more informative tutorial for the honeycomb tires.
@@GOTRAX Looking forward to it! Thanks!
@@willgardner9146 Here is a better video czcams.com/video/uLj5PZMuOgg/video.html
@@zoltongyongyosi thank you for this video!! It is actually quite helpful
@@GOTRAX fuck you
Nice scooter you should sell a version for 60 bucks more with those tires from factory I bet you would sell alot more . Good scooter though and good customer service.
Thats a great idea! Thanks for the shout out!
@@GOTRAX can you actually like, idk, make a version with this already installed so no changing is required?
Bro you know it took longer than that! You made it look easy and it's not
This video does pretty well in showing how to get the tubed tire off and the honeycomb one on, czcams.com/video/uLj5PZMuOgg/video.html
czcams.com/video/xFGaf9n5G0Q/video.html
Nice clean rim :)
czcams.com/video/xFGaf9n5G0Q/video.html
Yep, Just pushed it on with no problem!
lol
These look great. If only I'd been able to remove the side covers from my GXL V2 without wiping out the low grade hex screws because of the threadlocker. Hmm. Fun, fun, fun.
We're working on a new video for our tire replacement. For both honeycomb and regular tires.
@@GOTRAX please cover front and rear.
Did that too. How did you fix it. The hex keys no longer work. Please help I’m frustrated because I spent $300 on this scooter and only had it for less than a month
@@ianfrancis9595 I tried a couple of techniques (left handed drill bit, j b welded a hex wrench) but the only one that actually worked for me was buying a set of small easy outs on Amazon.
Use soapy water and zip ties to help get the tire on
How did you use zip ties?
@@bruorFirst, take one end of zip tie and insert it into the open slot until it clicks, then tighten it. Glad I could help.
You're welcome.
Lol !!! The guy alone manage to get it in like a breeze !!! He didn't show how with many people he fight to get it in !!! Bullshit video ! Look at 1:06 how the rim is scratched to know that he couldn't do it like he showed 5 second before ! You will never have the video where he will show you like he promised in another comment !
This video is a joke. Don't let him fool you, the tire does not just "slide" on like he made it seem. It takes a lot of hard work, muscle, patience, heating the tire, and some sweat and blood. One of the tougher jobs you can do out there. I did it so it can be done just no where near as easy as this clown makes it out to be.
why all the hate???
looks like majority of ppl never replaced bike tire
LOLOL
Maybe they spend weeks shooting the video so they skip the process of taking them on LOLLL
Yeah so not only was the allen wrench bolt stripped out and rusted from the factory which caused me to have to Dremel a notch to get a flathead on there and hammer the bolt loose as it was overtorqued, but to fit the new tire on the rim is a beast of a task. I've completely rebuilt vehicles in my workshop to give you a sense for my aptitude and the tools available. So watching this video is infuriating. Useless and misleading.
Pathetic, my scooter had its bolts on the rear wheel already stripped and over torqued
Absolutely ridiculous!!!
pretty lame clickbait
haha, "workaround a rim until it fits", please and then you show totally fu...ed up rim with a screwdriver! What a bullshit!
does anyone know where can 8 find replacement to g max?
