Dude l4st isn't just terrible at commentating, he's just unlikable. Dude prevented one of my friends from entering one of hbox's tournaments because l4st thought he was still banned from tournaments despite him being unbanned for months. Even after he proved he was unbanned, l4st didn't let him enter because "sign ups were already closed" Toxic.

@@jeffreyzhao9156kinda get what you mean, though i personally like him yapping lol. he gets flustered super easily, which makes it easy to make fun of him or start some great banter, but he always seems to be a good sport about it at the end of the day imho, regardless of loud as he can get lol.
hes also genuinely extremely knowledgeable about smash as a whole, so i think he adds good insight as well from time to time

Crazy to watch them both get better and better each game. At the start it felt like a lot of random moves were being thrown out but by the end it was super considered neutral and well timed punishes. Imagine what they could do with years of practice

I think the reason I find this game unsatisfying to watch is because every time someone lands a hit, it's like smacking a balloon. They fly offstage super fast and then slow down at the end just before the blast zone.4
For me it’s how erratic the speed is. Feels like things goes from fast to slow to fast to slow. While in melee the speed of gameplay is more dynamic. I think a big part of this is how characters in ultimate lose a lot of their momentum when they jump. Also way more landing lag.
yeah, this is a change to knockback trajectories that was applied in brawl to make combos harder iirc
whereas in melee (and 64) knockback velocity is static, from brawl onwards it's exponential - lots of kb right off the bat, then a quick slowdown towards the point where hitstun ends
since this makes them be further away quicker, making use of the hitstun to continue the string is discouraged a bit. it limits what options can be used to combo

Coinbox tournament results of last night shows the character needs to be decent enough to make it far into the bracket. Zelda didn't make it far into the bracket. Chase using Zelda even lost to Bruho using Kazuya.

Honestly I started playing smash ultimate recently as a melee player and yeah not a whole lot of characters can actually do big combos. I’ve been playing Sheik and she’s decent but a lot of characters I tried out weren’t. Smash Ultimate is very neutral focused.
