I didn't even see Spargo take advantage of poison going through Steve's walls to force Chase to move. His plant is insane.
I kept thinking the same, was like "why aren't you using poison breath on the walls??" and it's crazy that he ended up winning despite that
simple, Spargo intentionally didn't do that just to meme on Chase even more
not just that, steve's elytra is highly exploitable, i barely noticed splant releasing ptooie at ledge, nor throwing that over on ledge. yet despite all that splant still did wondrously

The way Spargo hit the shield with bair, all to make Chase jump was beautiful. You never wanna jump against Plant! You can see it happen many times in the set! Spargo's ledgetrapping was good, but if he masters Plant's ledgetrapping, especially Poison Cloud, and if he ran to the ledge and held Ptooie or tapped it, it'd be an even stronger Plant! I hope we get to see more of it :)

I disagree. And 98% of the *fun* of this top 8 was just cuz Sparg0 went piranha plant against Chase in grand finals/thug finals afterwards. Chase playing Steve for some matches doesn't really matter except that it made it funnier when he lost to plant.
But Steve is still pretty toxic. 4 Steve in top 8. And 9 Steve in top 64. That's almost 15% of the bracket is just Steve. Sonic never has more than 4 reps in top 64 and never more than 2 reps in top 8.
