I did not see the signal in the sky. His friends, however, failed him.
It was painfully obvious he was not sober during the Friends Reunion. You can see the annoyance of some cast members in the press tour. That was when they should have intervened but there was too much CASH at stake. MattMan was saying goodbye. He signaled his need for help to the world during those interviews but no one ever gave a s*it about him and it gave him a uniquely wicked but vulnerable humor. To them it was just Matthew fking up AGAIN.

I'm not sure how it works, but being in hot water can intensify the effects of certain drugs and alcohol. He might not have realized how messed up he was, until it was to late and he couldn't get out of the hot tub by himself

The water opens up your circulatory system and the drugs move quicker through the body. Just like if you have a headache- you put a cold pack on so the veins Vasoconstrict & get smaller. A headache/migraine is due to too much flow of blood in an enclosed membrane. So you want to make the veins close to get the excess blood out of the head. Did you ever have headache or migraine that got worse when you bent over- more pressure in the head.
Yes! That part! I cannot go to a hot bath or sauna cause i will probably faint🫠happened few times. I cannot imagine someone going there on some substances😢
Also no offense but he was buying $ 9K of pills a week. After a few days of not going #2- he didn't think of spending $$ on some laxatives? After 2 days I feel uncomfortable..His colon burst at 10 days of not going #2. That just seems crazy to me.

His story is so amazing too. He fought a huge opioid addiction. The kind where he was taking 30 pills a day. Beat that addiction, has been EXTREMELY honest in his relapses and has been a huge advocate for changing your life for the better. I want to remember him for the kind, humble guy he always was.

It was 80 pills a day. I read his book. It was incredibly sad but eye opening at the same time. As a fellow Canadian I loved him so much and was shocked and heartbroken by his death. ❤

@bitty_bytes001 he needed more than detox. He had been to rehab more than anyone I ever heard of. He needed a mindset change. That only happens when you hit bottom. Celebrities rarely hit bottom because they have enough money for 10 lifetimes, and are surrounded by yes men. Very sad.

It's true. Methadone is much harder to quit than the real stuff.
I've heard that methadone is the hardest to get off, Suboxone is much more a therapeutic and less dangerous approach.

When I was on ketamine(FDA approved Spravato), I had to go to a doc's office for administration for treatment resistant depression(meaning 3 or more different antidepressants failed), panic disorder, and opioid abuse disorder. And I had to stay in the office for the dosing and 2 hours after that, in a dark room with partitions. Even with that, we were still required to have someone else take us home and ordered not to operate heavy machinery until the next day. It's wickedly strong, the first time I went I, I didn't empty my bladder before my dose was administered and I had to wait until it wore off because I could not walk while on that stuff. It's like a next level drunkenness and you are almost separate from your body. When I heard he was in a hot tub with that mess at its peak, I instantly felt like something was up. The idea that people using a disassociating anesthetic to party with is wild to me. The story given by the media surrounding his demise never sat well in my spirit.
He's one of the reasons why I am sarcastic and humorous 😢💔

I think each person is responsible for their own decisions. Sad to see what happens but we all have enough going on in our lives. Matthew had better connections & could've gotten into much fancier rehabs than us non-celebrities.
He failed himself. He would have said that himself. It's really sad but he made those choices. His "Friends" cast, I'm sure helped him but at some point, when an addict doesn't want help, what can friends do? I just bought is book, now in paperback and I can't wait to read it. The backside says "Matthew Perry was"....."was." Very sad.
I had ketamine infusion treatments over the course of 3 weeks for depression, and it was like a miracle. Before the 1st infusion, I was severely suicidal and had serious intentions. But the same day after the treatment, I wanted to live again and was excited about life

MP was an adult and suffered from the disease of addiction. As for the ketamine therapy they give you very small amounts. No where near enough to kill you let alone in the middle of the night while patient is sitting in a hot tub. He died of misadventure due to his addiction.

I completely agree. I’ve been in recovery for a long time and would never touch it. There are plenty of other options. Doctors are surprisingly stupid about addiction, so it’s usually up to the patient to say no.

I was given Ketamine for a week long migraine in the ER. I went to hell and back and it was so scary. I don't know what happened to me. I didn't know who I was and had a severe panic attack. It was awful.

Ketemine or “special k” has been around for a long time. When you do it, you slip into what’s called a “k hole” and you can’t climb out. It has to wear off before you can move. Imagine falling into the floor with a wall of carpet all around you and all you can do is watch it happen. He probably realized he was slipping into the water that’s really sad

This is the 1st time I've ever heard of Ketamine being used as a way to help opioid abuse. I remember it from 20 years ago as "Special K". People would go into a "K hole" & I also remember it as being pretty dangerous. Apparently I was correct about the dangerous part.
People in the drug realm still call it Special K and it's probably more dangerous now than it was back then. Also didn't know it could help w opioid abuse although when ur trying to recover from a drug addiction, they do tend to give it to u but in small doses

Ketamine was very popular in the rave and club scenes in the UK and the US during the 80s and 90s. It is a strong psychedelic hallucinogen and was referred to as "Special K". It has recently gained popularity for its alleged therapeutic and mental health benefits in certain medical and "New Age" circles. I just wanted to offer some more information that i thought might be interesting. You're so great at what you do, Sloan, and i always enjoy your videos! You know what gets people off of heroin or opioids? You give them acid or give them mushrooms. Psychedelics can actually reset the brain and help people that are heroin addicts get through treatment that way better. Ketamine does the exact same thing and it’s not a way to take someone off of opioid addiction. I think this was on purpose.
Note: this does nothing for the withdrawal symptoms. You are better off if you do a taper, slowly, then indulge in the psychedelics/K. It’s no joke being on a trip while you’re withdrawing of heroin.
Ibogaine is something used to treat opioid addiction, but it’s not something I can recommend myself.
It would be better to recommend these things for a person that has recently become sober.

As a recovering addict, it absolutely blows my mind how any dr. (therapist or whomever) could think Ketamine is a good idea for an addict in recover.
Ketamine is a horse tranquilizer. And, it carries a much greater ‘buzz’ than (most) street drugs. Infusion typically means by vein, needle.
I was given Ketamine at the hospital b/c I was impossible to ‘put to sleep’ for a routine procedure. It’s no drug to play around with, that’s a fact!

Ketamine has been around a super long time. It's probably becoming used a bit more now that a lot of cocaine/molly/etc is being cut with fent. Prescription drugs have always been a go to since you know it's a pharma compound not a street mix, they're just a lot more pricey.

Here’s the thing…I’m an advocate for social equity in medicine. Every drug available now is either tainted with illicit fentanyl and xylezine, and illicit ketamine is on the rise. Ketamine is an untested drug and not one for opioid use disorder - that would be buprenorphine or suboxone. It’s possible these looked like real ketamine but weren’t or he simply got quantities he never should have. Other drugs like antidepressants may have impacted what his system could manage.
This isn’t a time to be doing any drug tbh unless it’s prescribed to you from a pharmacy or dispensary. Be safe everyone.
