  • đŸ”„From a triumphant finish to a crushing debacle, Mercedes’ Belgian GP campaign was a rollercoaster ride. Who could have predicted that George Russell's race win would be so short lived? Even though the victory eventually landed with the Silver Arrows, one must wonder: was it truly worth it? That question will remain open for debate. Despite a spectacular win, a single mistake marred the entire experience for the British driver, leaving a bittersweet taste after what should have been a moment of pure celebration.
George Russell has spoken out about his “heartbreaking” disqualification from the Belgian Grand Prix, which cost him the victory at Spa. On Grand Prix Sunday at Spa, Russell faced lower-than-expected tire degradation. Seizing the opportunity, he opted for a one-stop strategy and expertly managed his hard tires to the finish, keeping Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton at bay. He crossed the line believing he had secured his third career victory. His win slip through his fingers after his car was found to be underweight during the post-race inspection. Naturally, he's fuming. But could Mercedes have steered clear of this blunder? Did the one-stop strategy really eat away so much rubber that the car ended up lighter than allowed?

Stopped listening after the comment about neglecting to pick up enough rubber on his tyres after the race. If you can't even get that basic fact right, what else have you got wrong?

I don't think people realize, that 1.5kg is about a 2 sec advantage over the field, he only one by 1.5 secs and those numbers are being kind to Russell.

Russell stupidly thinks he can screw-up every single driver with his "bluff" ONE-STOPPER.
Starting with his car weights right on the dot, without adding to the rubber lost of a ONE-STOP, ofcust he can keep his pace.
Besides, I suspect with Lewis Hamilton's experience he can smell he will almost certainly inherited the win, simply to maintaining P2 ..
taking this little gamble, Lewis surely knows the "consequences of a one stop" thus he was no where AGGRESSIVE attacking Russell for the lead.
Killing 2 birds with one stone, he get to destroyed Russell with the massive points loss and the embarrassing ideas of cheating everyone with his one-stopper..
His team obviously knows the consequences, otherwise they wouldn't have reconfirm with him if he insist on the one stop.
F1 championship are won on Special Race Craft and intelligence... RUSSELL HAS NON...!!!

Enough of the shit on Russell's ability, HE HAS NO RACE CRAFT AND BRAINS TO MANAGED THE RACE.
THIS TEAM IS DAMAGING THE GOOD NAME OF MERCEDES... WITH ALL THE STUPID ISSUES THAT SURROUNDING THE WRONGFUL ENGAGEMENT OF A SUBSTANDARD DRIVER IN RUSSELL.
