  • So far, 2024 has been a year of transitions, logistics and grinding - which is to say, a lot of cold training rides on the road. We know this will prepare us for a BIG season of racing but we also realize how important it is to keep the motivation high and sometimes that means prioritizing fun instead of intervals.
Earlier this week we were finally able to share our new 2024 bike sponsor, Ari Bikes, with all of you - and today, we’re building up their newly launched lightweight e-bike, the Nebo Peak. And then we’re going to go ride e-bikes in the desert. Join us for dry dirt, wonky calzones and new bike day.

At the age of 65, I got an ebike and it has kept me out riding and having fun at now 67.

  • @markkligerman6861

There’s really no reason to apologize or explain why you want to ride an ebike. people that dislike bikes, for whatever reason can just go piss off. Folks should learn to stay in their lane mind their own business move on. After all riding a bike is supposed to be fun and whatever reason you choose to ride whatever you choose is your own business.

  • @jamesspadaro1996

After major medical issues, I went ebike, only way I could keep riding. Great job on "why ebike", thank YOU. One reason I watch you guys is because you keep it real.

  • @thealliest

E-bikes are awesome because they get more people on bikes. The more people on bikes, the better. ❤

  • @phillk6751

I think the e-bike hate should be directed towards the bikes in the wrong class riding trails they don't belong on...Like Surrons on Mountain Bike Trails and road bike trails.

  • @chazk5376

Half of the MTB people on IG pissed me off when Kyle and April were promoting one of their "April learns to jump..." videos. So many curmudgeons gatekeeping what isn't even theirs to keep. Also ignorant of Kyle's health problems and why they did have E-Bikes at the time.

  • @mistert1097

My wallet has a reaction to EBikes

  • @kellyperkins4139

Great for people that can’t ride without a motor, nice that you are riding at a motorcycle designated site, that is where they belong

  • @TobiB89

I really don't understand the whole trail legality for e-bikes in the US. Mackys bike barely weighs 2 kg more than my non-e-trail-bike. Also that Fazua motor won't add a destructive amount of torque. Especially when you consider now, that I probably weigh 20 kg more than Macky, what's the point of not allowing e-bikes on certain trails? Although I don't own an e-bike myself I'm glad we don't have this stupid rule in Germany. On the other hand our e-bikes are only allowed to assist up to 25 km/h 🤷‍♂️

  • @PitDaddy

you don't need to apologize for choosing to ride an e-bike (says the guy who is anti e-bike :) )

"Just be nice". I really like that ❤️

  • @davidjaniec3838

I'm a 75 yr old former competitive motorcycle/mtb racer/rider. The e-mtb and e-grvl bike have been INVALUABLE in my later life. Whatever your skill level you can the same level of workout, just faster further. I keep a log of my mtb and oad/grvl biking... I go faster, further and longer. Most intriguing to me, I found myself going "exploring" trails I had never risked the uncertainty of before. I live in high desert so I have to remind my self of my health limitations & risks.

  • @glencompton2949

Macky nailed it, why not e-bikes? My wife and I aren’t old or injured or wildly unfit and still love our e-bikes. We mix it up between e bikes and acoustic over time.

I can't believe you guys sold out! 🤣 Actually I have 3 e-bikes Welcome to the club! They're so much fun. I'm 57 and having an e-bike allows me to get out and ride with people much younger than me and I don't feel like I'm slowing them down. They're the great equalizer.

  • @whowe958

I am 51, wife and kids bought me an e-bike for Christmas. 15 mile round trip to work is not so bad anymore, especially the uphill ride home!

  • @AllanDownunder

I'm a proud e-MTBer. Macky your bike looks the bomb - so glad you didn't settle on the orange fork. Whereas Syd, that orange fork is a great splash of colour on yours. These bikes look exciting already.

  • @jdadventures9668

I was a e-bike hater in the beginning of them, but I feel the same way as you guys do. E-bikes have made possible for people that could not ride to be able to ride now and enjoy everything that we enjoy.

  • @rottieshepcalibre9156

How could anybody be negative on this channel is beyond me. I’ve been following for a couple years now and these two are hard working athletes trying to show us the many different aspects of mountain biking ❤ and Mackys just plain chilled 😎

  • @nickb8257

Great looking bikes. The orange one makes me hungry for some reason! I’ve been mountain biking for 35 years and now ride an e bike and love it. I do use it for fitness training by turning it off on flat or low gradients then when my legs feel spent I switch it back on! I also like doing technical uphills - it helps develop trials skills, balance and control! Have fun!
