Invest in some good clamps to hold the hose on your tank and bucket. Also use a wifi power adapter for your pump, you can turn it on and off with your phone. It makes water changes so much easier.
It's so good seeing more women passionate about the aquarium hobby, i have only been subscribed for just over a week, but the content i have seen of yours i have thouroughly enjoyed, so keep up the amazing work, i look forward to seeing more amazing videos from you ❤
Parker’s reef just did a great video about bubble algae Lauren 🥰 might be worth a try using the product he showed in that, he’s in australia too and talked about how we can’t get emerald crabs etc 🥰❤️ great video as always
For water changes in your big tank you should make a long U out of pvc pipe with a hose connection on one end and a strainer inside the tank to prevent fish getting sucked up. Least you can then ditch the buckets and run the hose out into the drive way. Plus when you go to fill you can just connect it to the pump 🤙🏻
Brava , molto brava è tutto perfettamente in sinergia , un saluto dall' Italia - Well done , very good and everything is in perfect synergy , greetings from Italy
she changes with 5gal buckets and siphons very old school like i did on a 20gal even on my 54gal tank i use a 450gph pump run it to the sinks and a 30gal bucket of new water to save effort . and for my 6ft tank when its set up im getting a 1200gph pump and a 110gal bucket .
Hey Lauren, I would try Continuum Clean Equation M to remove the bubble algae. I am currently treating my tank. Gallery Aquatica TV and Parkers Reef both have videos on the treatment.
Always happy to see you use natural sea water for water changes - I'm less worried about the rising sea levels since finding this channel. I wish I could do the same, but it's almost 2 hours drive and even though there are people using natural sea water for reef tanks in the UK, you need to wait a day for the brown stuff to clear (not to mention having to check the sewage discharge map)...
You should take the pump and your hose to the ocean and get a large container in your car so that you can pump water straight into your container in your car. I guess that would only work if you can go back home and pump that water from your car into your tank but it would help with you not having to carry all that water and make the pump do all the work haha.
Nice. I live close to the beach too. This might be the best idea and money saving for me as well. Do you run the water thru anything like a net to catch any debris or anything like that. Or straight to the tank?
Great video as usual! With the 6’ saltwater tank, why don’t you try putting a submersible pump inside with mesh covering the intake holes so fish don’t get sucked in if holes are a little large and running some long enough tubing from it which pumps your water out straight into your garden so you don’t have to carry heavy buckets of water outside?
Great video. I have recently been gifted some guppies and it is amazing to see them multiply. I like the light on the Male tank. Could you please let us know where you got that from? Thanks
Hi, my name is Anthony, do you do anything to the saltwater before putting it into the tanks? Also how big is the large tank? What is the ratio that you water you trade out? I heard about your channel on a saltwater chat group ... I'm planning on a tank about that size and hope I can use saltwater off the beach here in the Philippines
I don’t do anything to the water I just put it straight in. 😊 I tested the water down here and few times (I made a video on it and the parameters) and it was always consistent and have had no issues using it! 😊🙌🙌 would definitely reccommend testing it before using it, as some places in the world it wouldn’t be ok to use the water due to pollutants 😊 fingers crossed you can! It makes life a lot easier! 🙌
Wow so you have to haul water from the ocean everytime you do water changes? How often do you do WC. It a lot of dedication to do what you are doing. is there a reason why you are not using Salt and RO water for WC?
I’ve been watching ur videos for a while. What’s ur opinion on quarantine. Also what about using both a canister filter and a HOB skimmer at the same time??? I’m new to saltwater. I just want a FOWLR tank if someone could comment and help me.
Not really 😊 it’s quite commonly done here in Australia (amongst hobbyist and LFS’s) and have only heard good stories from people using it. Am yet to hear a story of it introducing parasites into someone’s tank. 😊🙌
You know I’m a little sketchy going out to my local beach and gathering drift wood after all these storms here in California but I’m afraid I’ll get kicked out with sand in my bums.
Nah, the other one was an overview on the tanks and since then had quite a few people asking what the maintenance is like on them all, so I made this video 😊🙌
cheating LOL , i wanted to see how to mix up salt water it seems complicated getting things right . i guess she is lucky she can get it from nature to save the trouble
@Nomadistar haha. Dude. We are talking about a couple gallons a week... max... plumbing will be just fine, but you keep on dumping it on your plants 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Lauren so in my tank to make things easier I have cut the return hose to my canister filter and added in a "T" joking and I have a piece of hose from the "T" with a manual valve on it... Since there is a syphon already in the canister filter hoses I just attache my hose and turn the valve and it automatically drains... You can attach it to your pump to re-fill it too... It will make your life much easier 🙂 ill drop you a pic on instagram so you can have a look
Great video thank you for sharing 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Lauren I agree a little maintenance every day gets the job done 👍every thing looking fab😍
That’s it hey!! Thank you so much!! 🤩🙌🙌

Wow.. and I think it’s hard keeping up with my 36 gallon and 55 gallon.. both freshwater! What you’re doing is amazing.
Gosh, you live in such a beautiful area! How cool to have the ocean so close. As always, thanks for sharing that with us land locked folks!
Also keep up the good work with SUBS!! You're gonna pass me soon!
Hehe thanks so much Remy!! 🤩🙌🙌

Yeah definitely can’t get natural sea water everywhere in the world 😅
You have no idea how I wanted you to make this video 😂 I loved it, I found it very interesting 😎👍 - Ramon 🇲🇽
Haha thanks so much Ramon! 🤩🙌
Really enjoyed. Wish I could pop down the beach for salt water! Although not sure UK coastal water would be clean enough!😂
Almost a full time job! Lol but so much fun😁
Awesome video
Thank you so much!! 🤩🙌🙌
Wow and no plastic bottles

a easypod filter would be nice for the koi pond if they are available in Australia they are really common here in the uk
She’s got some guns 💪 lifting barrels like a boss! Interested to know the parameters and levels of the natural sea water
for my freshwater 6ft tank i plan on running 2 fx6s and a sunsun 3000 for a 10 times per hour flow rate but i like to overstock my tanks
That must save a ton of with rodi water, making saltwater and dosing.
Haha sure does!! 🤩🙌🙌

I have saltwater tank, freshwater, and a Paludarium... I just top off water when water evaporates...
...But awesome video! Really helpful in knowing the right way to do things!
Love the SICCE ULTRA ZERO
Hehe heck yessss 🙌🙌🙌
Coral shrimp would love to clean that algae for you.
Just a suggestion for the water box tank an emerald crab took care of the bubble algae in my tank
Unfortunately we can’t seem to get them here ☹️ would definitely get one if I find one somewhere! 🤩🙌🙌
May I ask you do you measure parameters since you use sea water? Was it filled with that water from the begining?
Cheers 💜
Happy to see I'm not the only one with 6+ tanks! Does your husband help?
👏👏👏👏👏👏

do you have a list of all equipment somewhere? especially the filters and wave pumps.
Why you're not using any substrate in your little reef tank?
you're so cute 🥰
I wonder what electrical runs there ?

Surprised you don't have a lawn mower blenny in your reef tank they are reef safe and helpful for your algae

I dump the water down the toilet
Wish I could throw caution to the wind and just waste water like that, but mine is made out of pure gold. I'll water my plants with it it.
@@Nomadistar you can't water your plants with saltwater.
@@chrislinke6235 That we agree on
