Paul we need a guitar collection video
We need it but without word "video".
Long overdue
it'll be like 3 hours of him frantically showing guitars
@@Roxanneredpanda yeah but it's cool
He has a studio tour, but yes a specific guitar collection would be dope. Good suggestion
I can say this channel has single handedly swayed me from a big pianist standpoint, to a new guitar player, and a year later playing the guitar better than some friends who have been playing for years.... you need to make a playlist that progresses from beginner level videos to you more complex ones for newcomers. Previously understanding piano on a complex level, you helped bridge the gap seamlessly. just wanna say thanks for all the cool tricks you've shared!
I just may have to get to be able to download...you are a phenomenal acoustic guitarist...😊
L😅
JT is such an underappreciated guitarist by too many! Such a gift to the world, we've been so lucky to have him.
Beware of such offers...it could be a fraud
I'm sure it's bullshit!
He’s not under appreciated at all. He’s widely seen as a brilliant guitarist.
He is, believe me, I've had to tell to many people what a great guitar player he is who just looked at him as a singer who strums a bit of guitar. Never underestimate the capacity for musical illiteracy out there.
The more complex and "jazzy" your versions become, to me the more they sound like Bossa Nova - the sound that Antonio Jobim made popular. Thanks for demonstrating!
For anyone interested, check "One Note Samba" by Antônio Carlos Jobim.
Perfect!
I love these chords videos, it makes what is complicated at first seem fun and exciting!
It's awesome like everytime I see a new video I always come out with something more to learn, Thanks Paul.
The chord progression captures the tone of the whole song, which is why it sits so well with the monotone part of the melody. Love the final chords. The video helps to put the music theory into the real world of a well known song. Was that Microsoft Sam on vocals standing in for JT?
Bravo! I appreciate that you managed to traverse the chord sub landscape without getting bogged down in the technical swamp. And, as always, loving your guitar mastery and hopeful spirit. Peace and admiration from NorCal!
25+ years Guitar player here ... and i'm still able to learn some new stuff with every vid you put out. Thank you Paul for all the hard work you obviously put in these. For me you are one of the most valuable Guitar Channels on CZcams
Beware of such offers...it could be a fraud
@@quantummusic2322 Thank you Quantum Music, while i'm a human spam/bs detector myself i was aware that it's nonsense in the very first place, because why should Paul Davids use a second account (with strange name and telegram link) to make such "winning" comments instead of just commenting lol ... but i think it's great that you take the time to warn people that are maybe not that aware and click on everything that is thrown in their face online. ... so Thank you!! :)
Also today this fraud channel changed it's name to Lucas Brar lol ... suprise surprise
Greetings

I think Level 4 is my favorite in this case. Simple but interesting enough, with that nice descending major scale thrown in.
I’ll second that. Also felt like the lyrics are so upbeat that the major version fit best
+2
up 3, I liked the 2nd level as well
That's what i was looking for, currently writing some post-rock riffs and i wanted to get better at writing chord progressions. Thank you Paul!
That is why JT is a Master composer and a chord wizard! Thanks for this valuable lesson which clearly shows the how and why behind this progression.
Paul - this is the best video I have ever seen to build up the construction of chord progression and how to start from the basics and build up to JT level. Your videos are always exceptional, but this is in a league of it’s own with regards to content. Even if someone doesn’t know the music theory behind it, they can follow the sound and feel as you build it up. I had a blast with it this morning over coffee!
Paul, FANTASTIC job teaching of how advanced harmony is APPLIED and how much fun it can be when done well. Absolutely love your channel, man, all love and success wished upon you!
It's just a very nice, even beautiful progression. Bedankt Paul voor alweer een mooie les.
Love level 12 as it’s so interesting underneath that single note vocal line. Those level 12 transitions are so smooth and even though ‘complex’, seem much more natural compared to the abruptness of level 1. The complexity makes it sound unique too. Thanks for the great lesson!
Famous brasilian composer and artist A. Jobim, composed, "O note samba".
There is similarity with this. Jazzy stuff!
Thank you Paul for this wonderful progression.
Amazing man, the best part of this content is choosing what level is enough for some song, I love all levels
bless you Paul. keep the content coming
I'm very grateful for your guitar music.🎸🌈🌞
More and more I think you are my favourite guitar channel, and the person who has helped me learn the most during this journey. Thank you so much. I've been playing for about a year now, started with acoustic and just got into electric a few weeks ago, and I always find myself coming to your channel when I'm trying to figure out what to learn next, or how to do something I can't quite get.
Beware of such offers...it could be a fraud
For a broke guy like me who can't afford real or online lessons, Paul Davids has helped me so much and taught me things that, without him, I would never know existed. And the production quality is top notch!
Love these chord progression style videos 👏
really great job, such a nice work of you,
I loved this video ! Incredible teaching material quality.
Great (advanced) lesson made simple Brother Paul! You’re gifted.
Such an interesting video!! I always find less is more when trying to embellish the sound, but I'm grateful for all these new chord shapes to add to my songwriting arsenal! Keep up the great work Paul and congratulations on your lesson series. It's been a delight watching you grow and share your love of music theory!
Don't fall for the Telegram scam. Leave it to CZcams's finest scam baiters to have their fun with them.
Thank you for sharing your awesome knowledge about all that beautiful chords and guitar skills. Whenever I need some refreshing knowledge and sounds in guitar and music in general, I visit your channel to learn some new chord progressions!
Nice progression, enjoyed it Paul. Nice concept to noodle with.
Thank you Paul. Love you man!
Dude, youre such a great teacher. Thank you!
Love the chord progression vids Paul! Also, it’s great that this was released on the 4th of July! ❤❤
By the end it was a little much for me but I really liked that progression with the walking bass like. Great video!
Man I love this Background... Great job Paul 👍♥️
It’s really awesome Paul, v inspiring!
Love Your Videos Paul . Great Video Paul .
Nice Channel,
Keep it up.
Thank you, Sir.
This is the typical James Taylor type progression - trying to capture your "ear curiosity" and hold onto it. Relaxed rhythm. Meant to be ponderous and contemplative.
@@quantummusic2322 You don't like ponderous and contemplative?
Paul as a student of your two course and still working on them yes brilliant work out and the theory ( music that is ) is arm's reach from me good shit man cheers
Great as always! Your video for Autumn leaves is one od my favorites, very similar to this one...greetings from Croatia!
Great very well explained guitar lesson!!! :)
8months ago i bought my first Guitar, acoustic.
Have learn alot from You and Tomo Fujita! Thnx alot...
Wow. Amazing how you built this up.
You sure have a spot in the guitar world sir. Thanks
I picked up the guitar for the first time since I was around 10 years old, so about 11 years ago. I could only remember smoke on the water and sunshine of your love. I found your channel a couple months after starting and found it so fascinating even though I had no idea what you were talking about most of the time lol. It was definitely your skill, knowledge, and calming attitude and voice. Plus the great sound and video quality. But I made it my goal to go through each of your videos thet intrested me over days, sometimes weeks or months at a time until I could atleast loosely grasp the concepts your teaching. Now two years later and watching this *Just once so far* I can definitely keep up for the first 3 levels but dont understand how you could possibly think to add #5ths on certain chords or where to play 7ths and where not to. I assume its just feel but still it feels so distant. I kinda wish you had more content that caters to beginners but I also find the challenge of learning concepts that seem way to advanced really fun (aslong as my guitar is in my hands lmao)! Keep up the amazing content Paul!
Thanks, I just love the sound of these chords!
Interesting. Inspiring. Love your Martin. I still have my old 76 Martin D35.
Wow! This is very nice! I'm trying to do things like this for quite a while and I think, I'm getting somewhere but this gives a new level of it to me. It encourages me to go further.
Thank you!
That is actually quite cool. As a chord guy, I really like the idea of chord variations.
Awesome tips! Thanks, Man.
Very much helpful man thankyou so much
Hands down Best Guitar Channel on the tube!🎸
Always a joy to learn this way..
Dude!!! Thank you!!
James Taylor is a legend! Not enough people of my generation and younger know about him, but I was lucky enough to have grown up in a house where his music was played.
Wonderful, cool lesson... thank you!!
just beautifull! thanks!
This is next level channel and i don't find any other one to match his level of expertees
Great explanations and analysis. It’s a progression adventure if you want it to be! Thankss. M
I really love these videos, you open a complete new world! I think I liked the progression best at about level 10, after that it gets too much for my ear. But wow, this is really interesting! Thanks!
Beware of such offers...it could be a fraud
Right on time! :)
Thanks for everything, Paul
Greetings from Ukraine
Thank for this Paul.✅👍🙏
Good approach to embelishments on chords!
Great Video Paul .
He is so good that an E major sounds like a different chord. Wow. hats off sir!
Very nice. Now that my sprained left hand thumb is on the mend I’ll be checking and learning the things here. Good job thanks.
Very helpful, thaaanks👍👍👍🙂
Excellent video
Solid video!
Gracias Paul 👍🏿🇲🇽
JT chord progression
The main man ...been trying to figure this out for years
Wonderful Paul as usual 🙏
Delicious editing 👍 and I love James Taylor...
Paul Davids, thank you very much sir! A piece from my number 1 influence. James Taylor is the reason I play guitar now
I love all your videos, but this video really is exceptional in the way it logically progresses through so many facets of music theory to the final harmonic reward. It affirms my belief than if you can play jazz you can play anything.
WoW ... You make chord info really easier to understand. I need these kind of lessons as I am a beginner 🔰 trying to get around in my song writing. Great !!! Hello 👋👋👋 pray 🌍
Amazing job there Paul. I’ve recently started to go through your music theory and chord progressions videos and they’ve helped me a lot. But even if they all teach me something different they all sound the same. Not a complaint, but I think you could sometimes get off the jazz and the blues and it could be a lot more fun
Very interesting! Thank you.
Hello dear
Guitar-wan Kenobi
It took me 3 nights of learning to absorb all the information presented here. It's better than those one-hour long music theory video.
Cool demonstration.
Really interesting but sound balance makes it tricky to hear the chords with the vocals. 🙏
True
Thank You 🙏 Paul
Happy 4th!!! 🗽 🇺🇸 🎸
Beautiful chord progressions, Paul. Works well with Taylor's laid back style.
Somehow it ends up reminding me of The Girl from Ipanema! When was this song released? Because I feel these 2 songs have a lot of things in common! 😉
Chord videos are always the best
Great video, Paul. Level 12 is too jazzy, too complicated for me and too twisted for my fingers, but the progess shown from level 1 to above using secondary dominants, II-V-I and tritone substituion, is a complete great lesson of armony. Thanks a lot. By the way, your English is also excellent ¡¡¡
Great vid bud! I always think I know a lil bit bout guitar til I watch your vids then I realize I don’t know much at all lol
So many Jazz chords in this video! I heard elements in this presentation that sounded like the sort thing Taylor does in his live shows. It was interesting seeing a bunch of the chords I’ve learned over the decades that I play in Latin Jazz and especially in Bossa Nova.
Layer upon layer upon layer of musical thinking, like a Dagwood sandwich of chord flavors, which thought can surely be applied to any chord progression. Thanks for a VERY interesting lesson.
This is right up my progresson alley. I love the alternates. Melodic chord play?. I’m in. Thanks Paul
Acoustic adventures expands on this , yes?
Cant use telegram. try another way. thx PK
Hi Paul I want to tell you that I really like your videos and I never miss one of them because I always learn something new.
I have a question about the guitar course, at some point will the subtitles be available in Spanish?
I'll be scribbling that lot out tomorrow. Thanks so much.
Hello dear
Thanks, Paul 🙏
The last few chord progressions sound amazing, and fit well with the vocal line.
It's a bit much for me to comprehend and play at this point. I may get there... not likely
Beware of such offers...it could be a fraud
@@quantummusic2322 - oh, I'm sure it is fraudulent. I reported it as such.
legend
Pure Jack Johnson stuff! :) thank you!
Spellbound!!...witnessed the art of the craft
Mr. Davids, I adore these videos where you worm your way through the theory, building step by step. Another song for you to consider? "Crazy Game" by the Indigo Girls. I am fairly well versed in music theory...and I have no clue what is going on in those most amazing progressions!!
Hi Paul,
My name is Arpit and I’m from India. I’ve always been an admirer of your work and this video was simply amazing. It’s like learning how to walk.
Anyway, I decided to go for the ‘Acoustic Adventure’ course you’ve created and wanted to know whether the course will have theory lessons like these or not?
Looking forward.
Cheers!
Love these chord progression videos! I'd love to see you check out "The Door" by D'Angelo, it's got a really nice progression and a cool strumming pattern.
