A six episode story arc. Just like the days of Classic Doctor Who and the one thing I’ve missed during the reboot. Having a thread running through different stories is good, but a whole series completely dedicated to one is epic.
@@tshelby5212 Settle down, Beavis.
"Just like the days of Classic Doctor Who" - erm, was it 2 years between each Episodes too?
I could be wrong. But I heard a rumour, that was going to be the original plan for the war on Trenzalore. It would of been great to see the war played out over a series, or at least a mini series. As much as I like The Time of the Doctor, it felt rushed. You could tell there was more originally planned.
There have also been some brilliant arcs in New Who. But, yes, when done well, this is when Who is at its best.

Weeping Angels are the perfect villain because you see them so often! Creative genius!
I never minded the idea of exploring Timelord history. That wasn't my peeve. Timelord history is so vague that while I love the inconspicuousness of it, it excites me to explore it further. But at the same time the showrunner has to respect already established lore. Like Omega, Rassilon, both who were huge gallifreyan legends making big stamps in their development throughout history. Their role throughout the story origins must be established. And maybe respecting what characters like the Doctor stand for and remembering what made her special in the first place!
If Chibnall has been so vague up to now so he can pull a twist on us then I'm here for it. Here's hoping.
@@darubicon1501 Well it has been 9 years since a proper story. TTOTD was fairly minor. Last proper appearance I think was very brief scene in 2015.

I love how the majority of the comments are so positive!!! I'm so hyped for this season!
Positive because we're closer to the shittest Dr and writer leaving!
Could be that they're deleting negative comments to protect this abomination of a show from actual fans who love Doctor Who and hate how they've destroyed nearly 60 years of TV history with this insipid, disrespectful 'woke' garbage.
@@Scripture-Man Yep, and above all else, desrepsectful to the previous actors and writers. Essentially throwing their work out the window.
@@Scripture-Man I feel you're mis-assigning blame. "Woke" doesn't make it bad. In fact it's irrelevant to the quality of the episodes. If the writing had been good, your personal dislike of things you perceive as "woke" would've likely been quibbles. But the writing has been borderline insulting to the fanbase, to good storytelling, and has handicapped the actors, and Jody in particular, completely. I'm pretty sure Chibnall's pitch to Jody wasn't, "You're going to be the Doctor, but immoral, yet we're still going to present you as the hero," but that's what she's expected to portray.
@@Scripture-Man Or you're just a bitter, entitled "fan" that can't handle the show changing or other fans enjoying or looking forward to the show still for different reasons to you. Nothing screams that like a comment like, "wElL, cLeArLy ThEy MuSt Be DeLeTiNg CoMmEnTs BeCaUsE rEaL fAnS hAtE tHe ShOw!" You do not speak for all fans. And no one wants to listen to your complaining on a trailer. Real fans respect other fans and their enjoyment of the show.
Also, the fact you think "woke" is a real insult speaks to what an ignorant person you are. And that you have nothing actually meaningful to say. You're just spouting the drivel of right-wing commentators still angry the Doctor is a woman (despite it not affecting the show at all) and two of the companions weren't white. People whose entire view is clouded by their extreme opinions and who would still find a reason to complain after an amazing episode.
For your information, Doctor Who has always been "woke". You clearly haven't been paying much attention. And you "fans" are in for a very rude shock when RTD comes back. RTD was already very progressive in 2005. Before third wave feminism really arose and before many other social and political issues became popularised in the media. So his new era will be even more progressive.
And FYI, you can check. I have had this account since I was in primary school. I sent a six page letter to BBC Cardiff at 12 years old from Australia. I have flown across the span of Australia to meet a Doctor Who actor. I was a regular on the old old website when you could send questions in to the writers. Doctor Who also got me into acting and writing. I have 1 year experience in an acting/ filmmaking school. And I'm in my 4th year of a university degree majoring in writing. All inspired by Doctor Who.
So, I think that qualifies me as being a "real fan". Whatever the hell that is supposed to mean. Does it make it a crime that I like the 13th Doctor? That I am not obsessed with her gender? That I enjoy the era? That I think the Timeless Child is a narrative choice with a lot of potential? That I don't mind the faults, as I can recognise them in any era of the show? That I'm looking forward to seeing how this season challenges the Doctor and gives us something new?
Because honestly, I'm sick to death of "fans" like you.

@@hclfgaming3743 I was thinking more in terms of lighting, colour and the shots of the landscapes but sure we can talk about non-issues like the close ups if you want
Agreed. While, for me personally, S10 will always be my favourite of Nu-Who - the Moffat Era's cinematography did at times look quite dated, especially by the end. I've not been a huge fan of the stories for a lot of Chibbers' era, but the production has looked absolutely stunning. Mind you, since RTD's production company has been bought by Sony, I do think that the next era will only get bigger in terms of production budget and quality with a massive corp like Sony having their foot in the door.
@@mr.sentient7344 The close ups are an issue for me. It is really annoying. So much going on but all we see are close ups of their faces. Makes it feel cheap. RDJ/Moffat didn't overuse close ups and you felt like everything belonged in the scene. Personally, I do not like the cinematgraphy style. It feels forced, and trying too hard to be a movie.

If this goes south I'll end up blacklisting the show for 10 years and go back later to watch it in retrospect when it hurts less. There is so much Doctor Who stuff out there besides the TV show - novels, comics, excellent audio dramas from BigFinish who will probably bankrupt me! If you don't like the current era then that's fine. Because the next era may be something better. RTD, the guy who was the lead writer and showrunner for Series 1 - Series 4 (9 & 10's runs of the show) and a bunch of other successful shows, like It's a Sin and Years and Years, is returning to run the show for the 60th in 2023 and beyond. So you skipping all of that because you didn't like a Series written, produced and acted by people who won't be there for the 60th is a bit silly tbh.
@@TARDIS75 Exactly. Thanks to BigFinish, Colin has honestly became one of my favourite incarnations - so if they do the same fixing for Jodie then its gonna be fab
I'm so glad that the weeping angels are back, they're like the most terrifying thing out of Doctor Who😁
Silence: Don't forget about us..... wait.
@@jeckjeck3119 lmao🤣
10 second cameo I bet
Worst Dr Who ever. Dr Who would NEVER run ahead of people hollering "Run for your lives"
Jay Exci and Critical Drinker explain expicly what went wrong.
Yes, this is fantastic! So happy they're back to doing trailers that actually fit the show
The whole series is called Flux, I kinda like that. A bit like Trial Of a Time Lord
Poetic how in both examples u gave, the show was/is at its absolute lowest in quality
@@oldoldmeme good point
@@oldoldmeme Tbf this season might not be of its lowest quality. I get you mean the show overall though but still this season might be really damn good
Sontarans, Weeping Angels, A Swarm type thing, Weird fish face type aliens, Ood, Cybermen, Daleks most likely, and Neil from the inbetweeners. SIGN ME UP
Looks epic. Special effects are great. Let’s hope it is as well written as it looks amazing.
Looking at the quality of writing vs quality of effects graph the last 5 series have produced, this will be the worst writing. :(
It's been movie level effects for 13 with fun nods to original Who costumes thrown in. So it's going to be good.
0:29 "What is that?"
Me: "Killmonger?"
My hype for this series has gone way up now I can't wait for this and when the color lines are separating is anyone getting multiverse vibes?
The Doctor is the only one who can solve the Multiverse of madness
It’s giving me beginning of the end for Thirteen vibes
@@snokful that's possible too
Yep. Calling it now. Multiple timeline shenanigans with a canon reset of some sort to give RTD a clean slate. I'm betting Chibbers will use it to soft retcon Timeless Child in some fashion as well.
Hyped for trash? Sad
I'm now convinced that Vinder is either someone who works for the Division or another Fugitive Doctor. His uniform is really Division-ish, a lot like Gat's from Series 12.
What is the Division?
Yes, I have seen that speculation that he is a Division agent.
I was thinking that. Something very TL about him. Maybe a good or close to it, post-Missy master?
I'm almost sure he's either The Master, The Rani or The Valeyard

@@michael_koski god if its tom hinddleston it'll be the best thing everrrrr
Sounds like a nice idea, but I don’t think it’s possible. Tom Hiddleston’s probably too busy with Marvel right now.

to me he was the best doctor
Danny Devito
it looks like a remix of the war games which was the second doctors last story
I’m so sad about the fact Jodie’s leaving, she had so much potential
Hopefully she’ll come back for some big finish stories
Hopefully, they managed to fix several other sub par doctors :O
@@KingMidgardsormr
And masters!
She might return for the 60th anniversary special like how David Tennant did for the 50th
@@ItsMaddieNow I'd be down for that. I hope she does, but I doubt it since she would have left only a year before.
I love Jodie's reaction to sitting with Coldplay
She is so adorable. I love what a fan girl she is!
Am I the only one who finds it just a bit suspicious that in all the teasers, trailers and interviews there's been not one mention of Jo Martin, considering the pivotal role she plays in the whole Timeless Child arc?
Knowing they like to play things close to their chest I've been waiting, and waiting, but the new series is less than a day away, and still no mention of what, if any role she might play.
Hm...
I'm 54 started watching Dr who when I was 8 it's the only thing from my child hood that has stuck with me,can't wait to see this like a child I have a grin from ear to ear watching this trailer..peace to all..
An epic story told in six parts; so basically, they invented the old series format.
The old format, with old enemies. The thing that Chibi said would not be happening. Do you suppose that direction came from above?
@@josephwisniewski3673 I think there was meant to be episodes spacing it out more that got cut due to covid

While I'm cautiously optimistic, I do gotta say. I am in love with the new Sontarans, I'm happy to see the beautiful Cyber Warriors coming back in some way, weeping angels too, I love the designs of this new weird species, everything seems set to be really great, and I hope it is!
