Hi, I’m trying to do split payments at Walmart self checkout with my debit card and cash. I have $30 dollars in my debit card. I have to pay $41 dollars for my food. When I put in my debit card first, it got declined due to insufficient funds. So I wasted $41 dollars in cash.
You currently can't do that at the self checkout if they don't accept cash or aren't set up. You have to ask the associate working at self checkout. They can then suspend your transaction so you can take it to a regular register to do a split pay type payment. There might be a register in the self checkout or you might have to go to another area or customer service.
Do you know the rules for using for doing more than one transaction at the self checkout ? For instance, Yesterday I used my debit card for the food items and then I used cash for my non food items but one of the workers came over and questioned me about how many transactions I had made. So my question is are you only allowed to do one transaction per cart ? Do I need to use two carts , one for cash and one for debit card ?
