Hi Roybo. It's a pleasure to select stuff that may not already be on YT - nearly everthing is! Happy Easter - all the best for now, Norman.

Hello again Mr. Field! What a smashing little tune to cheer me up on a freezing cold night. Looking forward to seeing you live in action with some interesting equipment sometime soon! All the best from Bristol 🍻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Dear Norman! Hello! I love this side -- everything about it is a swinging pastoral worthy of Wordsworth if he had known how to score or play in a clarinet trio. Know that you are much revered and much missed. Michael of JAZZ LIVES

You're very kind, thanks. You can hear Specht's lovely reed section 'forming up' as early as 1925, on sides like 'Oh Peter', a late mechanical recordng on Columbia. Somewhere I have a very good mp3 of that, though I'm sure it's already on CZcams. All success to you and your site. Cheers, Norman.

An added bonus would be to see the disc on a TT playing "live" so to speak.

Hi there - yes - I have another 'take' of this side, not in so good condition, so can play it using a spring-driven turntable, ca. 1930, and a contemporary electro-magnetic pick-up. To be done very soon. Best regards, Norman.

Thanks Boris. There are many projects and subjects I would like to explore... difficult to choose which is to be next. History of electric recording, maybe? All the best. Norman.

Real music.....sound better on hmv sax horn gramophone 🤣

Yes, it almost certainly would... but it is very difficult to record that 'natural sound' with a microphone. I don't know why. I have a friend with a large EMG machine, which sounds so good, it can bring tears to your eyes - because you never thought you would hear sound like that. 😃😃

@@bixanorak emg machines are amazing. Its hard to believe its possible to produce mechanical sound so good these digital days. Why did my grandfather not buy one???! He bought a pye black box instead 😳😖
