- Here is the evolution of Windows 2000 to Windows XP startup and ahutdown sounds.
Please note:
Windows Whistler used 2000 sounds until build 2485(2481 does have windows xp sounds but they still use 2000 sounds as default). Also, the shutdown sound from build 2202 to 2481 are disabled by default.

If you upgrade from build 2481 to 2485, Windows 2000 Startup and Shutdown still played.
Yes also build 2486
@@colawin yeah.
Nice to see you used the real sounds, which were first seen in Windows 2000
Some of the most uplifting sounds for a system startup/shutdown I've ever heard
Builds 2410-2419 have a charming wallpaper.
Can't stop hearing that startup and shutdown sound
A new Windows XP build was leaked recently. That build is build 2210, which is in the AXP64 architecture, thus making IT the earliest 64-bit build of Windows XP, preceding the previous earliest 64-bit build, *the earlier compile Server 2003 build 2462* (however, that was for the Itanium architecture).
Interesting how Bliss was not only picked twice, the only one picked that many times, but also the one picked the most out of any of them.
Is it just me or does the 2000 startup sound on whistler Sound even more beatiful?

My favorite builds are the normal windows xp bulids

That is the correct windows whistler boot up
indeed
I like Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10.
Amazing :)
So apparently, it was called "Windows SD" before they figured out the codename Whistler?
SD is "Source Depot".
I think you should make a video about how to install winframe,a unusual os.(your videos are too short!)
I miss my childhood with thus sound 🥺
Build 2410 is the first time they changed the icons from Windows XP RTM
0:00 Pre-Luna
2:21 Post-Luna
Note: Windows Whistler has no startup and shutdown sounds it just only used Windows 2000/Me sounds
I have a theory! Since the development of Windows Codenamed Longhorn's development technically started even before XP released, would there be possible unleaked builds that might have Windows 2000/ME sounds like XP Beta A.K.A. Windows Codenamed Whistler?
There would be possible unleaked builds of Windows Longhorn that hasused Windows Server 2003 beta as a base
Honestly I love windows 2000/windows me (Whatever they both have the same startup and shutdown sound) startup and shutdown sound the most over all windows version.
Fun fact:
Actually the RTM build of Windows XP will be build 2545, but Microsoft released build 2600 instead as the RTM build.
Is that why my friend has been offline for 3 years now?
Same happened with windows 8, the rtm build number was gonna be 8888, but later changed to be 9200 since it wasn't divisible by 16
Windows 2000 had a missed opportunity on the RTM build number. It could've been build 2000.
Windows whistler ended support in 2001
I wonder what a build in the 2300s would look like if one of them ever leaked.
23xx builds of Whistler never were compiled
@@k10000kjyeah, it jumped from 22xx to 24xx, likely because 23xx was allocated for windows Me builds. Which kinda makes sense conidering for a time, Me and xp were both in development
What does run in compatibility do?
Windows XP 2485 Is The First To Onclude XP Sounds.
Edit:i mispelled Include
Yes 2485 is the first build to use Windows Xp sounds as default, but windows xp sounds are actually introduced in build 2481
@@colawin in 2481 the sound quality is higher (44kHz). It is unknown why Microsoft lowered the XP system sounds in 2485.
No, actually the XP sounds were used by default in build 2841 if you made a clean installation. If you upgraded from an earlier build of Whistler/XP, the Windows 2000 sounds would be included instead.
@@stefmihai9717 that build does not exist
@@seroujghazarian6343 2841 is SP2 of XP (technically)
Windows XP build 2202
Windows 11 version please

Post rtm is 2202
There was a debate years ago about that, but there are some things in build 2202 that prove that it is not a post-RTM build of 2000.

Why Recycle Bin 2:19
What about the recycle bin?
@@User-sz1dnPerhaps that it looks a bit different from the recycle bin in the final Windows XP.
