Thank you very much for making this video, I was trapped in a very difficult time and could not even think of getting out of this trouble so easily, thank you
Thank you for selflessly posting this video. It fixed my problem immediately although I now have a part to replace. I wonder if my mechanic knows this?
Hey everyone, I found what the problem was. The part ultimately needed to be replaced. Got one at the junkyard for $15. It wasn't too bad to replace. I'll post a follow up video soon.
@@ramirofuentes9388 if I'm not mistaken, the mechanism is plastic, over time it wears out. A lot of plastic parts have been breaking on my car over the last year. Mine is 2013 with almost 200k miles on it, and I have used it as a work truck as well as a moving truck, hell, I even put a motorcycle hitch and haul a 1000cc bike on it. For all the abuse I've igiven it, it's been more than great lol. But anything plastic is starting to just break suddenly
Ha! I'll be making a 200k+ miles review soon. But considering I've used this car as a work truck, moving truck, I even hauled a cbr1000 on a hitch rack... the car has been great lol
I haven't fix it yet. Since I live in south Florida I don't have much need to use the parking break. I'll probably fix it in the next couple months. Will surely post a video about it.
That's what I've been doing so far since I haven't had a chance to replace it. Because of the inconvenience, I try no to use it that much unless I need to. But yes, every time I use it I just flip it again to release it.
Brother you truly saved me from getting stuck in the cold Nebraska winter, and you saved me money. Thank you for sharing such a detailed explanation!
Glad to be of help, I haven't replaced mine yet lol

I think it's a common feature, it's a matter of finding where it is lol
Thank you, this video helped me alot. Our car was stuck in front of our other car in the driveway and we were stuck.
Glad it was useful. I got stranded at home and couldn't find this anywhere so I figured there would be someone out there who needed this info as well
@@dragonjerod now I need a video on how to change the complete assembly

Thank you so much! I have a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, and this worked perfectly for me. Saved my day!
I think the Santa fe and the sorento share most of the parts
Thank you, this video helped me a lot as well!

@@dragonjerod Just by chance, do you know why the parking brake gets stuck?

@@user-pj8uf8jt8tdid you ever get it fixed? What was replaced? How much was it?
After releasing. Would you be able to keep using the brake and flip it to release again?
