Digital mirror in a Polestar 2, how to install it.

The Polestar 4 has a camera system for rearward vision since it has no rear screen. In this video a digital rear view mirror of very similar type is installed in a Polestar 2. In display mode the digital mirror provides a much wider field of view. And, whatever you have in the rear seat or in the trunk, it will not affect the camera vision.
The digital rear-view mirror kit (some call it 2-way mirror ) used in this video is originally made for the Volvo C40 and it happens to fit the Polestar 2 very well. According to the Volvo accessory part catalogues in North America and Europe, one can find two versions:
Without Homelink, 32368474.
With Homelink, 32368475.
If your Polestar 2 has no Homelink from the factory, retrofitting the Homelink version is pointless since the vehicle will not communicate with it. Communication for auto dimming exterior mirrors, if the vehicle is equipped with that, will still work when the accessory kit has been installed.
Installation time when making this video was close to four hours, partly due to the footage made and also since it was a completely new experience to do this job in a Polestar 2. After having watched this video, one can probably do an installation like this in two hours, maybe even slightly less.
The kit used in the video was given to the owner of the vehicle at no charge from the kit manufacturer, since there was no guarantee that it would fit.

I tried to convince my local Polestar service center to do this mirror swap for me, but the foreman said he wouldn't because "it is not a Polestar part, and is safety-related (regards the mirrors).". If I decide to be brave and do it myself, I'll be using this video as a guide! Thank you for being a pioneer and for posting your experience!
Are there any steps you did that you feel were unnecessary and could be skipped or any things that, in hindsight, you would do differently?
Also, nice BST Edition! I have a Midnight-colored Launch Edition with Plus, Pilot and Performance Packs, and I absolutely love it!

Hi. Something that could be skipped? I think not, this is what it takes I would say. If you have a sense for attention to detail and are a bit careful with that long coax cable, this can be done at home just like we did. Good luck.
