My great uncle Alf. Stayed home at the age of 6 working on his father's farm. And that's what he did until he met my great aunty. He wanted her but she said you gotta come clean to God and become a Christian. So he did and was wed to her. And he raised children and continue to grow vegetables and had a farm with cows and pigs. And Alf had his love for big vegetables. Even won the biggest display of home grown vegetables at the Ekka. Yes my great uncle had a hard life. Don't think he ever went overseas. The country was enough for him. Anyways don't know why I wrote this. People don't understand how good they have got it. God bless you uncle Alf and my grandfather who had to stay back from WW2 to mend the farm. My grandfather was a man who didn't mess around. He was a good man and a Godly man. Grew up in outback Queensland when this came out. The memories. What a blessed childhood I had.

I remember buying this CD in the 90s and making a tape of it for my Pop (RIP) ... he loved listening to this before he passed away. Always reminds me of the drive to Ballarat to give him the tape. Lyrics:
Way out west where the rain
Don't fall Got a job with the company
Drilling for oil
Just to make some change
Living and a'working on the land
I quit my job and I left my wife
I Headed out west for a brand new life
Just to get away
Living and a'working on the land
What a change it's been
From working that nine to five
How strange it's been
At last I get the feeling that I'm really alive
They give you a house made of fibro cement
You don't need no money
'Cause you don't pay no rent
And it's Oh so cheap
Living and a'working on the land
La la La la La la
La la La la la La la La la
La la La la la La la La la la
Living and a'working on the land
La la La la la La la La la
La la La la la La la La la la
Living and a'working on the land
There's nothing much to do on a Saturday night
But get into some booze
Or maybe a fight
'Cause it's tough out here
Living and a'working on the land
What a change it's been
From working that nine to five
How strange it's been
At last I get the feeling that I'm really alive
Way out west where the rain don't fall
Got a job with a company drilling for oil
And I'm never gonna leave
Living and a'working on the land
La la La la la La la La la
La la La la la La la La la la
Living and a'working on the land
Living and a'working on the land
La la La la la La la La la
La la La la la La la La la la
Living and a'working on the land
