Two new recruits on the police force, investigating an assassination attempt!
Former marine, Bonnie, and renowned sharpshooter Formina are two police officers working together to find the truth behind the assassination attempt on the President of Capitol City, a world studded with skyscrapers.
With a key person of interest in the case claiming the president is a traitor and a mysterious triangle piece as their only clues, they set off on a journey through other worlds to uncover the hidden truth behind the incident.
The latest standalone entry in the SaGa franchise, SaGa Emerald Beyond, brings together the very best elements of the beloved series to offer each player their own unique gameplay experience.
As players venture across 17 mysterious worlds, they will forge their own unique branching stories that unfold based on their very own choices and actions. With multiple endings and countless scenes to discover, players will experience a unique tale upon each playthrough!

A lot of screenshots is pretty lazy. Do hope there is an easy mode. Seems some characters may move unlike scarlet grace ambitions. Nice they added a Muslim lady.
But if you mean the glimmers mid battle, that is a saga thing. Though I'm good with normal rpg's letting me have passive abilities and critical rates/character customization. I am surprised they haven't tried a VR saga or fix up unlimited saga, which quality of life could vastly improve.
Real ones know this and the last one arent actually saga because they removed exploration and replaced it with 2d map nonsense

@unclegoose3864 I did mention glimmers and unlimited saga. Options always help. It's why the mobile/steam updated (boost gil/exp and controller support) final fantasy pixel remasters are better than console (unless you need a switch physical), let alone you can buy the bundle discounted at a later date, which helps a ton, like I bought 3 and 5 for $18 and the rest for $12 in the bundle. I did buy ff6 on the ps4 not expecting it to be better, but the original sound and font was better as a choice.

Yoo, looks like quite the step up from Scarlet! These were the 2 i was looking forward to most, can't wait!
Yeah it's got the "Anything could happen, this is absolutely crazy" vibe that Saga Frontier had and Scarlet Grace was lacking.
I think i'm going to start with these two from what I've seen so far. But I'm going to play all the characters pretty quickly so it doesn't matter all that much anyways haha.
Stoked they are building on the battle system of Scarlet Grace (my fav) and then adding elements of Saga Frontier (guns, mechs, monsters). And very cool to see a duo with very different outfits/personality but good rapport. Counting the days!
Guns, Mechs, and Monsters gameplay system was already existed in Makai Toushi SaGa (the original SaGa game on Gameboy) before SaGa Frontier on PS1

Yeah they seem good and the voices seem to match their personalities / outfits.
I wish one of the platforms' demos had these two, they are the ones I am most interested in trying
Jobbers nowadays got used to 2nd rate triple “As” they forgot why AAs are essential and dare i say better! Less time to make, simplistic, and much less budget, which believe it or not, is good and less risky.
This team will be my first pick. They transition to RSU easily. The hijabi will probably ditch the blonde and tag in Khalid for summer events lol

I'm sad cause this game's gonna be overshadowed by whatever mainstream BS comes out around the same time! So happy the hardcore fans that kept this series alive against all odds (at least in NA) are gonna get yet another gift after such a long hiatus. And ... THE RETURN OF KENJI ITO!!! If this soundtrack is half as good as minstrel song's, my wife's gonna become a Saga widow for a month! Sorry babe!

SaGa 1-3 were Gameboy games localized as Final Fantasy Legend 1-3.
Romancing SaGa 1-3 were Super Famicom (JP exclusives)
SaGa Frontier 1-2 were PSX
Unlimited SaGa and Romancing SaGa - Minstrel Song - (remake of Romancing SaGa 1) were PS2
SaGa Scarlet Grace was PS Vita
All of those games are readily available on modern consoles except Romancing SaGa 1 (SuFami version), SaGa Frontier 2 and Unlimited SaGa.

A Xenogears remaster or HD upgrade may not be possible as the license is not exclusively owned by SquareEnix. They can re-release the PSOne, like when they put it on the PlayStation store for download to PS3 and PSP. Cannot, remember if that one also worked on Vita and PSTV. Same with BandaiNamco and Xenosaga.
A full Xenogears remake is needed. Make it like Final Fantasy 7 remake

A SaGa game. Turn based RPGs with multiple main characters, dozens of characters to recruit and use, interesting explorable worlds, completely customizable characters for battle (they can be made into mages, use bows, guns, spears, axes, swords, clubs, etc etc), and INSANELY GOOD music.

Highly recommend checking SaGa games out if you're a fan of Final Fantasy and don't mind games that are a bit unfriendly. They're like an alternate offshoot of the FF series if, say, FF2 on the NES was a runaway hit and the sensibilities of that game took over.

it's not a triple A game..
It's SaGa. It is what it is. The gameplay is what matters, and while it's usually an acquired taste, it's definitely got its fans, myself included.
The SaGa series has never been a showstopper presentation wise. It's all about exploring the weird nonlinear JRPG world
@samfivedot saga frontier 2 looked awesome. Did recycle enemies heavily with Virginia so I just play Gustave's epic quest to the end. But yeah it's understandable to treat this as a mobile series and wait for a sale if the mechanics or characters interest you. The lack of easy mode is inexcusable in this day as well.

SaGa games never have a big budget, they're just fun that can take up hundreds of hours. Not everything needs to be big in graphics.
