Hi! My name is Christopher Odd, and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us, etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games, too!

@@busterrod Me too! This genre is FINALLY getting the recognition it deserves thanks to Atlus and Vannilaware. As far as I am concerned, Atlus has booted Square Enix right off their throne and taken the mantle of "Kings of JRPGS".
I'd like you to do more reviews or quick look vids of games you either don't have time to do a lets play of, or plan to play in the future. You are good at breaking down the meat of whats in things in a just the facts way that neither puts the game down nor overly hypes it.
I’d enjoy watching a full playthrough of this game.

This is the spiritual successor to Ogre Battle I've wanted for decades and I loved the demo. Only FFVII rebirth is first in line for me. After that it's this.
Growing up, Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen and Ogre Battle 64 were two of my all time favorite games still today. Love seeing a modern take on those games here! Now if we can just get this on PC

I want to be a unicorn overlord. Definitely love when you play these kinds of games. I usually try (as well as buy) games based solely on the videos you put out. This and Thaumaturge look to be what's going to consume my March, and if not, at least allow me to live vicariously through the videos you put out. :)
Looks a lot like one of my childhood favorites: Ogre Battle / Ogre Battle 64 untold hundreds of hours went into those games. Very similar setup with overworld/units/groups/esthetics. Def going to buy this just to support a company that is rebirthing one of my childhood loves

I think my top two series in the genre are Fire Emblem & Valkyria Chronicles.. But there have been phenomenal other titles too like what you mentioned, Jeanne DArc and also Stella Glow

This game is going to be one of those games that will take over my social life. The last game that did that was The Witcher 3. I'm so hyped for the full release!

No PC release, so therefore I hope you do a full run of this because I don't own any of the other consoles.
It makes no sense to me that they're not releasing on PC. Seems like a perfect Steam Deck game

@@jonnyvelocity I was hoping to play this on the Steam Deck too but seems like it's a small team so doing a proper PC port (including things like mouse & keyboard control) was out of scope for them. Plus PC games still don't sell a ton in Japan. Look how long it took Atlus to start paying more attention to PC for SMT/Persona games

You're gonna absolutely love this! And I'd bet the story is going to be great. If the story is anywhere close to the quality of their previous game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (which I urge you to try if you haven't already, one of the few games I regard as a 10/10), this is going to be GOTY, easy. I cannot wait to get my hands on this and would absolutely love to see a playthrough! I've been a long time fan of your channel, since XCOM EU and to see you finally venture into something like this, is an absolute treat! Wish you the best bro!

Who wouldn't want to be Unicorn Overlord? This looks like an evolution of FFTactics to me, with a much larger scope - and removing the repetitive nature of some of the in-between fights since it's an autobattler. Would definitely like to see more.

I loved the mission where you rescue Scarlett. The ending was satisfying to crack open, and made me feel really good due to the foresight and item purchases I made hours earlier in the game.

Of course make it a series! I biggest complaint about streaming these big complicated games is when streamers get bored of it and just stop a game mid-story... So annoying.

It took me about 2 hours to get the hang of the system, but by the end of the demo I was hooked. I cannot wait until release. Nice review!

VanillaWare has been one of my favorite studios ever since I first played Odin Sphere. I saw this when it was first announced in a Nintendo Direct and I’ve been so excited about it! I’ve been loving this demo, and I can’t wait for the full game. Got the collector’s edition preordered for my PS5, and I think I might get a second copy for my Switch so I can also play it when I’m traveling! I’m so ready!

They really accomplished something with this game it seems. It is super easy to pick up and understand but still has a ton of depth and looks gorgeous. I hope the full game has enough variety and content to keep the momentum going because the demo alone is so much fun.
Finally a really promising looking strategy game from start to finish. I wanted to love Triangle Strategy for example but the content felt quickly very shallow and the scope of the story was just ridiculous (it's just one tiny territory with somehow 4 armies at play? made 0 sense).
I'd love to see you make shorts or a full length video of unit compositions and why you found they work or tips and tricks for units 'like setting a healer to heal lowest rather than themselves' oh and I am the unicorn overlord
Some of the UI reminds me of a Eushully game. I doubt it will have as much spicyness though :D

Not a fan of anime stuff myself, but play want you want, Odd. Don't let CZcams's eldritch algorithm doubt yourself. I've watched your videos since the first XCom 2 playthrough, and will continue to watch.
I remember trying to play tactics orge as a kid, I never could figure out what to do or where to go. But Unicorn Overlord is looking like it's going to be a great game from the demo.

Damn this looks so good honestly. I'd love to lord over some unicorns, but no PC means I'll have to enjoy your vids instead! Which like... that's a win! I've heard great things about it too, and the art style is incredible, so I'm glad the gameplay holds up as well.
It's the most fun watching you play strategy games to me. I actually love auto battle I skipped many games that didn't have it, I'm like what's the point of me being a strategist? Unless it's hack and slash, that something else entirely.

I have been having more fun with this than any game in the last two years, had no clue how much I missed Tactics Ogre plus the gambit like system actually feels good here and the pvp/pve at the coloseum just being build the most minmaxed incentivizes actually learning it.

In all seriousness, I'd love to see the Commander's take on what has always been one of my favorite game genres. Odd + tactical JRPG is the teamup I never knew we needed.
Going to be playing this from next week on myself. It'd be great to see Odd do a series on this to see how our playthroughts differ! Not necessarily looking for the "best" way to do anything, but to see a different perspective on how to tackle the game's challenges! 👍

I want to be a Unicorn Overlord. Thank you for the video. I am in the same boat as you. I love games like XCOM, but could never really get into this type of strategy game. I find all the systems and menus to be intimidating and cumbersome. Hopefully you will do a series on this one so I can enjoy the game without having to try to figure it all out myself.

I've always been curiously interested in these strategy games, but Advance Wars is the closest I've come to trying these types of games out. This game though... is sadly I think still not something *I* would be able to play. It's just so complex. BUT, I love the music, I love the art, and I'm picking up on how everything works well enough to be able to understand what's happening as I'm watching folks play through this. It's looking like an amazing game!
Final fantasy 7 rebirth by any chance soon? Even though ff7 remake is on this channel since I watched it. but spiderman 2 was also missed despite spiderman 1 being a thorough playthrough too. So I am guessing previous series doesnt guarantee a follow up
