Really cool Ben. Definitely going to have a rig like this once I get a chance to save up for awhile. Been stuck in a horrible rut but things are turning around. Thanks for giving me more stuff to look forward too, and goals. Goals help in life. They keep you going on a good track and give you something to look forward to. Woohoo been a good day feelin good. You tha man Ben.
You sir are quite timely in your review. The last two weeks I have been looking for items to build a set up like this (without the canteen). I just emailed the company. Thanks again!
Ben, Great job on the fire with the lens. Nice steady hold ! The belt is my current project......I already knew about the tinder pouch, but I'm luvin' the canteen carrier. Thanks.......PAPA DUKES
I was thinking about making a dump style pouch out of leather and a cotton bandana. Using the bandana for the pouch part. Sewing it like I did with my bandana haversack. Just have to find a way to integrate both in one spot without the bandana ripping.
John and Matt do amazing work. I have a ton of BadgerClaw Leatherwork gear and all of it is amazing. Affordable and super durable and quality. You need to get his altoid tin pouch holder and his leather bahco saw carry sheath
I like that. Good idea. Now that I'm back from holiday I'm going to order a kydex sheath from grizzly for my Esse 3 and iIzula. Have been looking at them for a while.
very very nice kit you have I like that you are very minimalistic with this kit and another thing is carry my Letherman Charge on a belt and I like it so I might try to add to my kit GREAT JOB THANKS!!
Good kit. I'm working on a more tactical looking one that is more extensive. I don't know if you carry, but I have pepper spray that I can quickly get to as a non lethal option.
By the way, about a year and a half ago (I don't remember excactly) I bought 3 Far Nine Camo Purses, I think their ladies purses but look very masculine because of the camo pattern, I bought them cheap, I didn't expect them to hold uo, I'm still using the first one as my Haversack. I use it when I go lite. When I go lite, that Camo Far Nine Bag with a fold over and securely snapped with good quality three prong that clicks into a female clip, it has good zipper areas and smaller area all over it and larger compartments in a nice size that's not too big and not too small. It's just what I need to go lite. Then I wear my military Gun Belt (Survival Belt) which I can carry a Belt Knife. (Rodent 5 or any other one that's robust but not too heavy), a Saw (Wicked Tough Saw in the Combo Sheath which I can carry in the open possition a great design) and my Hatchet (2Hawks Double Bit Hatchet or my 2Hawks Warbeast Tomahawk with their sheaths). the Canteen fits on it comfortable and a Military Necessities Pouch (Compass a Vintage Silva Huntsman, First Aid and Firestarter etc.) I bought it thinking it was for a man, but the name indicates it's for ladies, I think. Anyhow, I use it as my Haversack and back then I think I paid $2.99 a piece. It wasn't made from real heavy nylon or canvas and I didn't think they would last that long, that's why I bought three. But surprise, surprise I'm still using my first one and its still looks very good and no signs of it wearing out. I got real lucky, Just what I needed and the nylon construction is holding up great. It has long shoulder strap and that's how I wear it over my sholder. Just to give you an idea, I can carry a small Blue Tarp and my Cooking Kit the kind that everything fits into eachother and a Boy Scout of America kit that come in a red nylon pouvh. Cordage and I set it up that I could carry a rolled up Wool Blanket. But I don't put everything on it, because after all It's my Go Lite Haversack .But that was just an idea what I can carry. I love this time of the year when the weather is getting warmer and you don't have to process alot of wood to stay warm, Just a camp fire for a hot cup of coffee and a baked potato or some noodles and German Sausage and veggies and blip, blap, blam you live like a King. I can't wait to get my new knives. I ordered a Mora 510, a Classic #1 and a Olive Green Mora 2000 and Hatchet for not much more than the Orange color Combo Kit that sells for a cheaper price. Well that Mora 2000 and the Mora Hatchet will go great with my lite carry system. Thanx for the reminders. Oh, I did find where I can get those pouches you did the video on. Thanx for sharing. Just the right time if tge year to look into them. Thanx.
a leather/canvas dump pouch. I've seen it all. Make the knife sheath a leather and a full flap belt holster for the Glock, the entire rig would be pretty steampunk-ish. Weird, ust put together a similar rig out of nylon items a couple weeks ago.
I like the functionality of that belt rig but all that thick leather is not appealing to someone who lives in a country where it rains almost constantly. How waterproof is that tinder bag, doesn't it get damp? Maybe it doesn't where you live, it would here in Wales though I reckon as nothing ever dries out here in winter (or spring/autumn and most of the summer :P).
No, it doesn't absorb any water, if it's properly treated. You have very little experience with leather. Leather has been in use for tens of thousands of years without any trouble from moisture. Saying you avoid leather at all costs is the same thing as saying you have no experience in the wilderness.
Say Heah, Very nice, Please send me the names where you got your pouches..Kephart once said, get the best knife you can affird, because someday it might save your life. Dave Canterbury reiterates that also. Your Pouches cost more than your Schrade. I apologize, I don't mean to knock your knife choice. But everything you shared is custom and great looking gear. Even a semi custom RatManDu would look super in a custom sheath. But to each his own. I don't mean to be rude. And if I insulted you. I'm sorry. God Always is Good and Good is Always God. (even if you read this backwards, God is Always Good).
This is why I like your channel more than the others. You review all kinds of stuff. While others just stick to the same things but different brands.
+saprissa9 i try to do just that, thanks.

+Living Survival THANKS
Looks like great leather work. Get out of the grass Ben, your going to get ticks on you!!!
+39camper HAHA, getting to be about that time.
Don't think it would look great on a kilt .
Nothing looks good with a kilt, or in a kilt, except a woman, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Looks awesome but I personally avoid leather at all costs, it absorbs so much water
No, it doesn't absorb any water, if it's properly treated. You have very little experience with leather. Leather has been in use for tens of thousands of years without any trouble from moisture. Saying you avoid leather at all costs is the same thing as saying you have no experience in the wilderness.
First comment first like wait I hate people who do that
Not a new idea, but a classy way of doing it. Your canteen and knife (at the very least) should not ever be in your pack anyway.
+TurtleWolf Pack true that :)
Living Survival I admit that my belt system is not nearly so classy, but in various forms it has been used for years.
always have a ferro rod and striker on a lanyard round your neck
that is why you see the long lanyard. it either goes around my neck or attached to my belt.

+paulie 4x I have plenty of custom knives and plenty of expensive knives. I like my friend Brian Griffins Design so I carry it often.
Understood, , ,
