    When I first saw the picture of the bike I almost immediately thought the bike is ugly. I didn't even want to look no further into the bike. That first impression or that first glance should attract you right then and there in my opinion. I've never owned a high displacement bike or expensive bike for that matter which it is my dream one day but I really do have love for motorcycles in general. Thanks for taking the time to break it all down for us..💯💯💯 ✌🏾

    Meh. Not a huge fan of the new design. It's just OK - nothing amazing, but the single-sided swingarm is iconic Ducati superbike. 99% of these bikes are ridden on the street so I would have kept the single-sided swingarm for the V4/V4S and done the double-sided swingarm for the V4R which is really meant to be ridden on the track. I have a '22 V4 Panigale and I'm feeling pretty good about my bike today! 😎

    • @Waldo1122
      @Waldo1122 Před měsícem +1

      99% of these bikes are not ridden on the street a majority are on the track, The single-sided swingarm is not iconic to Ducati, Ducati sells more bikes with double sided swingarms than single. If you just want a bike to get people that don't know anything about motorcycles to look at you then get an MV Agusta.

    As far as double sided swingarms go, it’s a really cool looking setup. I do prefer the single sided counterpart - if nothing else, it’s easier to adjust the chain and remove the wheel. The winglets are NOT integrated, just body colored. They’re clearly separate pieces that are plugged into the fairing.

Currently on M1000XR, but want to get back into track riding. I gotta see the new KTM 990 RCR and weigh in against track only options like Kramer GP2 890RR. Then again, consumers’ views, collectors’ views, hardcore riders’ views and manufacturer’s views do always differ.

    Full disclosure: I've never owned a Ducati and I'm not their target market for this bike. Personally, I'm okay with a conventional swingarm; however, I think they could have designed it a little better. I can't stand winglets on any bike (Euro or Japanese). My only other gripe is I think there's a little too much space in the area between the front wheel and the main body of the bike. The Panigale V2 (the 899?) originally came with a conventional swingarm before reverting to a single-sided swingarm like the 848. Maybe Ducati will do the same to the V4 should sales fall below expectations.

    the racing compartment probably forms a belly pan to catch fluids and allows racers a black background to apply support/sponsor decals....so alone, it's ugly...but decals would benefit from the background to stand out. From the side you definitely see how the MotoGP bike influences this design. I have a '22 V4s, and the way they've integrated the aero winglets into this design sucks..it's a BIG red blob...the reason the previous generation V4 was so attractive was there was some contrast in the color scheme.

    It looks like the electric bike. No bueno man. All they had to do was do all the upgrades, headlights and leave the side fairings, single sided swing arm. It looks like a Honda. 100% say they’ll change it in 2 years

    I've been waiting to hear what you think about the new V4 2025, and yes, I agree with you, the bike resembles the CBR and the BMW (front fairing and headlights), which I think is bad, not because those two bikes are ugly or something, but because Ducati design was always special and different, you immediately know that's a Ducati when you look at it and not some other Japanese bike, Ducati never make you wonder, 🤔... Hmmm, what bike is it ? ... (except for the new Monster 🥱, which now looks like any generic Japanese "naked" motorcycle since Ducati decided to ditch the tubular frame, which is a crime to do on a Monster in my opinion) ...
    They say they took inspiration from the ICONIC 916... I don't see it!
    1. the motorcycle no longer has a double air intake under the headlights, now it has a middle one
    2. no single sided swingarm
    3. no under-tail exhaust ... (which is also the case with the "old" V4, and you can install the under-tail system later, but if the bike is inspired by the 916, all those classic Ducati design details are missing) The new V4 looks more like a Desmosedici with winglets than a 916... It seems that Ducati has strayed down the 999 (🤢) path once again...
    As for the swingarm change, I'm not as mad about it as most, especially if that change brings an improvement in performance, handling and comfort on the bike, probably that decision was made because they couldn't squeeze more power out of the engine (1HP over the "old" V4) so the solution for performance improvement had to be looked for elsewhere...
    And if this change had to come, they couldn't have designed the new swingarm better, it's different, it looks lightweight and allows you to still see the rim and the rear tire through it like in the Ducati tradition...
    I like that now the side fairings don't connect with the fuel tank like on the outgoing V4, it makes the bike look "lower" sleeker, and the shape of the new tank helps with that...
    All in all, it doesn't look bad, and I'm sure the new V4 is a total performance beast, but it doesn't scream "IT'S A DUCATI" at first glance which Ducati bikes usually do... 🤷

  • @MaxSpeedNZ
    @MaxSpeedNZ Před měsícem

    It’s clearly about WSBK performance. It’s not as cool looking as the 2024 but initial opinions usually mellow with time. I think with the right modes from the catalogue it looks pretty slick. Different coloured winglets would probably make it look better. It’s a Ducati for the racer or track rides rather than the weekend warrior poser lots of people like these on the track.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  Před měsícem

      Ducati is in the business of selling motorcycles...if people don't like how they look and they don't sell then the bike is a failure regardless of how "good" the bike is. At the end of the day selling bikes is what funds their race team...

    The single sided sidearm is the staple of Ducati. Besides performance Ducati’s just looked exotic. The 2025 Panigale looks cheap. The wings for example appear molded into the front fairings. If it performs which I’m sure it will people forget a lot of this to a certain degree.

    The truth is that 90 to 95% of V4 owners for the last generation can't even ride that model to it's max limit, nor are they capable to notice swing arm and chasis flex at such high speeds and discern the difference between that and what their suspension is doing, they lack the professional training and experience nessecary to understand these dynamics and handle it. Most V4 owners purchase this bike for the looks because nothing is designed more beautifully, performance matters, but we aren't chasing lap times or competing. It may have been wiser to make two versions, one with a single sided swing arm for the street riders and another produced in limited quantities with the double sided swing arms for the professional track riders, those who are capable and rich enough to track them. I'm not sure how this idea was overlooked by head office. I waited for this model to purchase it, but now I'll keep my old Ducati until another single sided swing arm model comes out that looks beautiful. Perfect refresh for rich track riders, race teams and professionals who compete, but not smart from an overal sales perspective though. They will sell less of them than ever before. It's a huge miss for their actual demographic, overall for the rest of the design it's also not nearly as nice as last years.

    I’m a Ducatist through and through and have owned 4 generations of their superbikes and still own two. I honestly think it’s a big improvement from it predecessor, here is why… it appears it has a slimmer waist line which will make it feel more like the L twin when mounted on it, the front is streamlined and sleek, 1000rr ish, the whole bike looks like it has been on a diet even though I don’t think it has lost much weight. Everything else I will wait until I see it in person and hopefully test ride in 2025. I actually like the swing arm. Love the large dash too.
