  • Kathy is taken on a vintage car excursion around the Baroque city of Lecce. We observe how nativity scene figures are made in Lecce, which is known for its paper maché. Kathy visits an olive mill in Squinzano, where the villagers are dancing the pizzica in celebration of the harvest. Antonello Losito, Kathy's friend, introduces her to an elderly gentleman who crafts lovely model boats.

This is just about as inspiring as a travel proposal can be. The reason I became a travel blogger was because I never stopped dreaming.
Excerpts about traveling like this one help us to remember how travel makes us humble and life experiences are more important than physical “things.” The older I get, the more I value experiences over things. I think this short travel excerpt really hits the nail on the head......thanks for sharing this amazing experience!!!!

My great grandmother ❤️ was from Lecce, her surname was "de Gallo", which means the rooster 🐓. She died when I was 25 years old, so I feel lucky that I was able to have many beautiful conversations with her! 🧑‍🦳 Baci dalla Grecia ed amo molto la bella Puglia❣️🐬

I love puglia. My favourite triangle spans from Polignano, Monopoli, Savelletri, Ostuni, down to Brindisi and Lecce and across to Gallipoli.
Affordable accomodation, beautiful beaches, great food and wine as well as friendly and happy people.

Please advise where to stay as a base to hit most of the town in the area 🙏. And how many days should we stay in each town to really enjoy Bari to Lecce. Thank you for the information.

The coastal trail along the Adriatic is a great hike.
I would suggest the Griko areas to the East of Galatina to get the true feeling of Salento and Taranta.
Salento has a great bus and rail system; no need to rent a car. It is flat so bike riding is a joy.
The City of Leece at dusk is magical. The light on the stone will cast a spell on you.
There is no better place in Italia....really.

I've only been to Puglia once about 5 years ago.
I stayed in Monopoli, I knew nothing about the region prior to arrival but was curious.
I visited Ostuni and Lecce whilst I was there and thoroughly enjoyed my short week vacation.
I wish to return soon, so would be interested to know where you would suggest to visit.
I'm aware of Matera and it's history but know little else.
It would be difficult to cover much in a short 25 minute tv segment so I'm not so critical of this film.
