nice way to start ... puGlia :)))
His irritating mispronunciation made my ear aches, besides his drunk voice.
Sempre più persone sono innamorate della meravigliosa PUglia ! ❤
Wow! Thanks for touring these beautiful gems 💎!
Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing! Great tips 👏🏼
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the vlog! We are heading to Pulia in a few weeks....can't wait!!
Thanks for watching! You’re going to love it.
What a place, keen to see the next vids!
Saw a few camper vans in there also, that seems like the Road trip idea
Stay tuned!
@@stayweirdtv def a good way to go.
Beautiful ❤
Thanks 🙏🏽
I also have a strong accent and have difficulty pronouncing many Italian words. I just apologize upfront and continue on. Your video is superbly done. I will be in Puglia for about 4 days in early June in a Trulli near Monopoli and will follow your lead. Thanks.
Thanks! And yes I took the feedback to heart and try my best to pronounce things properly haha. Enjoy your trip! Puglia is amazing!
Ah yes, Pool'-lee-ya.....my favorite region....yes....Pool"---lee-ya...😁
Haha yes I’ve learned from the comments how to pronounce it. My apologies and hope you enjoyed the video.
@@gogibgo6148 great video, thanks. Ciao!
San Giovanni
Rotondo e altri bellissimi paesi.
Grazie

You'll find that most of the beaches are 'owned' by cafes ,restaurants and hotels. The regions name is pronounced as poo-li-a. Pol-i-nano-el-maray. Some lovely scenes.
Would love to have chapters for this video. It’s really good!
Thanks! There are chapters and if you don’t see them on the vid for some reason, I included them at the end of the description.
All look beautiful. The beaches look very busy, what month was it?
Thanks! It was during the second to last week in August, so probably the busiest time.
Steve - Gogibgo put together a nice and informative video. Your comment about his pronunciation is also informative, about you.
Thanks Douglas!
Yes, it tells us that he regards it as important to pronounce the names of cities and people correctly. I agree.
@@Berto-bo7mrYes of course proper pronunciation is important, you’re right. I’m studying Italian now and can tell you that many Italian words are difficult to pronounce, especially if you’re learning this beautiful language later in life as I am. I cut Gogibgo some slack on the pronunciation issue, because I saw the benefit of the video Gogibgo produced. BTW we just got back from Puglia and Gogibgo’s video was in fact helpful, which was the point of the video.

Great information! When you travel on your trips where do you do your research to find best places to stay without spending too much money?
Thanks! I usually just pick where I want to stay in a place and see what’s the best I can get between AirBnB and Booking.com for my budget.
Owww. We would like to be visit…
You won’t regret it if you do!
Ostuni-Gallipoli-Monopoli-Polignano a Mare-Fasano-Lecce-Brindisi is my favourite triangle in puglia. Beautiful beaches, great food and drinks all provided by people that know how to live very close to heaven, while still connected to their home soil.
Please remember that summer-life there begins "at dusk" and summer-work starts long before dawn.
Yeah that area was probably my favorite in the region!
Can I take that route by train or bus and stay at Airbnb along the way?
Or other option is to stay in one place and take day trips.
@@lisalanza8365 I have not tried it, but you should be able to reach all the towns except for Gallipoli (which is on the other side of the heel) by train. In Ostuni the train station is out of town with a bus running into town. Taxis are almost non existant.
Do not expect everything to work out as planned because it never does in southern Italy, but it works out in some (usually funny) way at the end.
@@lisalanza8365 Airbnbs are abundant in the area, but in July and August (the high and very hot season) they are probably all booked. I would stay in the "middle town" Ostuni and take day trips from there, but all the cities will do nicely for a stay.
I suppose you can rent small electric vehicles (twizzys) in Ostuni for around 30 to 40 Euro per day to take you to the beach or explore the backcountry.
I will be in the area in May

PoliG nano.
Haha thanks I have improved my Italian pronunciation from these comments.
Half a day in Momopoli!
You really aren't getting the best of a place if you spend so little time.
I stayed here for a week a few years ago and have wanted to return ever since.
But I'm a curious soul and new destinations keep on popping up that I have to visit.
Really wouldn't consider going to anywhere in Itally that's a popular destination during the height of the summer season
unless you love crowds of people.
Temperature is always much nicer and far less tourists in the shoulder seasons.
Prices are normally better too!
I’m sure you can spend a lot of time there, but this video is to allow people to see a lot of Puglia in a short period of time, like a long weekend road trip.
Bravo, complimenti ,bellissime immagini! Wha's the name of the place at 00:40?
Grazie! It’s Castro Marina.
I am arriving in Rome on May 9 for a couple of days and then taking the train to Puglia.
Any suggestions on the best route to take while staying in an Airbnb along the way. No 🚗. Thank you
Hmm I arrived from a different way, but I think the most direct way is to go from Rome to Bari. I personally stayed in Bari and used it as a jumping off point to go to places in the Northern section of Puglia. I believe you can take trains from there to some of the major sites, like Polignano a Mare and Ostuni, which I highly recommend you visit.
@@gogibgo6148 can we text on whatsapp? I am planningy itinerary
The other way is reaching Brindisi that is less expensive and it's in the middle of the most visited towns
Re Brindisi, agreed. For my italy May 11 heel trip I’m using a Brindisi Airbnb as a base. Although I am flying from Rome due to time constraints, a train from Rome to Bari and on to Brindisi is very doable and affordable.
If you have a week in Puglia where would you stay? Can you suggest 2 spots for me to check out please.
I only did 4 days, but I would suggest basing yourself in Bari in the North and Lecce in the south. Both are the two biggest cities in the region and are great destinations in an of themselves. From Bari, it's easy to get to Ostuni, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Locorotondo, Alberobello and other places. Lecce gives you a good home base for all of the beautiful places in the south of Puglia. Also, Lecce is called the "Florence of the South" because of how beautiful it is. You could also stay in Ostuni in the north, which is a decent sized city and very beautiful. Definitely check out Otranto in the south.
If I get a place in Otranto for 2 weeks in May, can I take day trips to other cities by car or bus? I won't have a car
I think the best city to be as basecamp is Brindisi because is in the middle of all the most beautiful places. You can reach many of these cities by train, especially the ones on the Adriatic sea side
Lecce is beautiful … Molfetta is too Also Santa Maria di Leuca.
So beautiful I can imagine people going to retire at any of those places mentioned.
PuG-lia. Ha ha.
Haha 🤦♂
How much does a meal typically cost in Puglia?
15-30€ for a normal meal
With 40 Euros you have a rich Tabletten for 2-3 Persons
btw, the "g" in Puglia is silent
Thanks!
Pooglia? You actually pronounced it that way? I lived in Puglia (pronounced POOL-ya) for 3 years. Met lots of Italians and nobody pronounced it Pooglia. Nice video though.
Tried my best with the pronunciations! 😂
👍👍👍
I'm italian. The right pronounciation in italian is poollia (you don't have that sound in english: the italian -glia is like the spanish -lla). Remember also that in italy, like in england or everywhere, there are many accent. In Puglia the local pronounciation is different from italian standard pronounciation, because that sound (-glia, like the spanish -lla) is inesistent. They are not able to pronounciate that sound. They say poogghye (same sound of the german g)
PUGLIA non è solo Bari e Lecce,la provincia di FOGGIA E PIENA DI BELLEZZE NATURALI CHE NON HANNO EGUALI,VEDI IL GARGANO,LE ISOLE TREMITI ,I MONTI DAUNI E I LAGHI DI LESINA E VARANO!
🙏🏽🙏🏽
POOH-LYA is the ITALIAN and only pronunciation :)
LEH-CHE not LEH-CHEE
BAH-REE not BEH-REE. You've got a nice voice. Italian is phonetic so the way you say it in Italian is the way it should be said in English :)
Thanks! My commenters have taught me a lot about Italian pronunciation haha. Thanks for watching!
You didn't pronounce a single name correctly........
Impressed?
Hahahahah
Pooglia?
its important to know your audience are not italians and will not understand your italian pronounciations 😅
That’s the only reason my pronunciation was like that. Was being accommodating and thoughtful 😂😂
👍👍👍
