Ive went back on my recordings and indeed it doesn't do justice listening even with headphones but yuh do what you can. For sub and amp im running CT Sounds 10in 2ohm DVC in a proper sealed box with dimentions preffered by CT. Wired down to 1ohm into a CT 1000.1D monoblock amp. It does sound fantastic as my 04' Passat Wagon already came equipped with front 2way components with resistor boxes & fully insulated which sounds amazing with honestly no rattling. I do plan to get two Tropo XL 12s 4ohm DVC in one of their open boxes for when I go to my shows & events. With my setup including a Orion XTR750.4 which runs my components and a 2nd battery with battery isolator I received 3rd place at VolksFest this year. Going to be making my way to GermanFest at the end of the month and borrowing my hommies two Kicker L7 S's in a 30s tuned box wired @1ohm as it will fill the back better and should help the overall look and sound for the show as that single 10 doesn't look like much to the untrained eye even tho it sounds amazing.
Thank you for doing a video that is for beginners or people who don’t/can’t spend a lot of money on car audio. Believe it or not there are actually people who don’t want to do 140’s or 150’s. Not being sarcastic at all, I just know many people that don’t understand us Bassheads. :). Peace out and keep up the awesome videos.

A buddy of mine has 2 8s in his truck and man I was impressed at how they sound! Of course like you said nothing like 12s or bigger but man you can definitely hear him coming.
Would you say his 2 8s were as loud as one 12?

Everyone that hears mine thinks and says 12"s at first til I show and tell em it's quad 8"s. Good box and good subs on a good amp. Ds18 8"s on a JP23. Windshield flex and trunk lid looks like it's trying to leave the car.
They bang hard! I have in RAM1500 with SKAR 800 WATT AMP and they are legit! They them out, you won't be disappointed. Unless you're used to 15s or 18s haha

love the CT Sounds, got Four of the MESO 6.5's behind the seat in my silverado on a taramps 3k, also have two 10" STRATO's i toss in there on same amp. the 10's pound.

This is the only review I have found with the Tropo 8s and I appreciate it, even though I could tell you were not impressed. I built a quad 12" box for a friend with a '96 Impala and truly understand your point, but this is better than factory on any given day. Subbed
I would love to see the comparison between Skar and CT!
I went with the tropo’s over the sdr for one really simple reason. The surround on tropo’s are stiched to the cone. That’s it. Lol It’s just a temporary setup for me anyway. I have a jp83 about to go in on 2 fi mt 18s, 100ah of lifepo4 from underground power, and a 320amp irragi alt.
I have 2 out of 4 8” torpos in my crew cab truck and they hit so much harder and better and they are 200watts more per sub on everything they have but are 40 bucks more expensive give or take some different than skars on everything
I would go with CT. Unless you really don’t got the money but they are worth every penny my 2 8” are smacking around 2k about 1000 apiece and loves it although it’s rated for 800

People love those size speakers for those small cars and truck setups.
Solid starter system or maybe for man cave .For the price run multiple enclosures. I think if it was me though 1 bad ass 12 would work.

Hey Parker what SPL Meter are u using. The only one I found is the sound lab meter that's like 250 bucks. I'm hoping there's a cheaper one available.
I really like the look and specs of most of the CT stuff. Would love to do a big build but they don’t sell them here in the UK and shipping is crazy expensive from US to UK 😞

I have 2 B2 Audio rage 8's on a jp95 in a custom enclosure tuned to 30 hz and they get down surprisingly well. They do bottom out from time to time when the bass knob is turned too far right though.
I just got me a rage xl 12 hopefully it sounds good . My setup isn't done yet

Yeah for real my single 12box in my extended cab is 20in long well that box is only 25". Didn't really think of it before I coulda fit 2 8s. Lol

@@kingwillie206 Yeah, people dont realise you can literally build a box for a 6.5" sub tuned to like 35hz or so and it will still be WAY louder than any stock system.
Also I know there's a difference between those and 2 12s inch but I'd there in big difference and punch?

makes the DC audio subs that MBEnclosures been testing on even more impressive. His 2 8's doing over 140 db on music in a king cab dodge.

That's more due to cabin resonance. Some cabins have surprisingly loud peaks. For example, I had a skar EVL-10 in my chevy S-10 and at 33hz it sounded LOUDER than a VXF-15 in my Honda CR-V...
BUT, in the chevy S-10, if i went below 33hz down to like 28hz or so it would literally drop off by like 20db. I'm not even exhaggerating. You couldn't hear shit below 29hz. I literally tuned my box to 24hz and it sounded like it was still tuned to 33hz XD

Not sure what your vehicle setup is but alot of people hate on Skar. I tell you after being out of the audio game for a few years got back into it with a single SDR 12 in ported enclosure on 600rms in extended cab pickup and I'm impressed with it for Budget stuff.

Get the skar svr package. It's closer in spec and price than the sdr.
for 200 bucks with the enclosure, these look great for a cheap and nice upgrade from stock
I have a 18 inch tropo d2. One of my favorite subs. Do large sealed box and performs very well on 1200 watts. Ct sounds is alot like JL audio but alot less price wise.

I have 3 8’s wired down to 1 ohm on a 1800 watt Audi pipe amp. And let me tell you those skar 8’s get down. Them 3 8’s flex the doors and roof, back window. With a deep bass.
You’ll pay over half for what it cost something worth rebuilding... those are those are like disposable razors...
You should do a free air test on the ct sounds meso 6.5

I'm using these subs in a skar dual 8" enclosure. With a rockford 750.1 amp. Every time I turn up the bass on the knob my amp goes into protect. Gain is low and set at 80hz
I'm sure you already figured it out but sounds like a bad ground connection

These are nice CT is a great sql brand but i always ran a pair of 12”s and 15”s bet these are punchy though

What will vibrate the car better in the 8inch 2 meso or 2 sundown sa8 i dont know what to get or if i wanted 1 8 sub what is the loudest ever bass wise
In my experience i find ramping into a burp with these meters as their refresh rate sucks, a sudden full power burp usually won't read accurate all of the time therefore give different results which seems obvious here as you gained more db with no more power. Could also be why you get fluctuation when trying to find peak frequency.

Man I had my ct sounds ozone 12s for about a year, the spider screws came loose inside and the screw got stuck on the magnet and rubbed against the coil so one blew, reached out to ct sounds so they add loctite on those inner screws. I went deaf bonce now

Dude fire the box at the roof you’ll gain DB and feel most all the notes. Trucks will not bang lows to the point of feeling the flex unless they’re poison up with the lower budget or single speakers.
I would rather have TROPO-1X12D2 A little cheaper in price and you get a better sound and deeper lows. 12 are just amazing
