I have to tell you, I absolutely loved this video!! Your style of delivery, sense of humor, detail of work, challenges discussed, and your storytelling are beyond compare!! I learned so much of the actual process of painting a used piece of furniture, from the video and your dialogue. I have been watching furniture painting videos for over two years, and learned a lot. But, I have never been shown and taught the actual steps from start to finish like you presented it. Confession time- I have supplies, but never had the courage to start, so I just watch. I just finished chalk painting some furniture for my son, and now I want to go back and improve my work! Your # of coats of primer, paint and sealer, were more work, but they made the piece look wonderful. I didn’t think to sand the insides of the drawers. Some had old stained contact paper that I was unable to remove. Wonderful video!

I think it's great marketing that you staged the piece in different ways. The potential buyer can then see that it's just not a "seasonal piece", but there are other ways it can be used in the home. Three coats of varnish, straining the paint, and other perfectionistic tendencies...they're what makes your work special. The color is delicious...my mouth was watering for some pumpkin spice cookies all through the video.

Loved that crown!! And how special was finding that note? I think I would find a small frame for it and keep it forever. It's just one of those things that brings back all of the feelings of fantasy of childhood. The piece turned out beautifully. I am a fan of orange and my bedroom end tables are a sunset orange. I painted them that color in my senior year of high school. Every so often I say I'm going to paint them a neutral color, but that hasn't happened and I am now 69! They were the original end tables for my Grandparent's living room set when they married in the early 1900's. Most of my furniture is over 100 years old, being passed down from one generation to the next. Even my piano, which I don't play, was my Grandfather's who started the first orchestra for the public park district in Chicago in the early 1900's. There is so much history within these pieces that I can't imagine giving them away. When the time comes, they will be donated to charities so continue their journey of bringing happiness to their new owners. I think I will tape a note inside each one explaining their history, so whoever gets them will hopefully, think about what they have heard, experienced and lived. Thanks for bringing all of this back to me by reading that note. Congrats on the renewal of that piece and now it lives on to bring another family happiness and you were a part of that!! That color is so yummy and so sophisticated. And that one drawer pull is stunning! The decoupage on those drawers sealed the deal for me. I feel more furniture artists should pay more attention to the sides and insides of drawers. It just looks more finished and professional to me. Great job!!

Wow, loved this one, and I'm not overly fond of the color orange, but THIS shade was beautiful. Loved the papers on the sides of the drawers too. Nice touch. But I loved that charming little note so much that I would have glued it to the inside of the center drawer. Something like that would make me smile each time I saw it. Winner, winner, turkey dinner! Andy, this one is another stunner. I love your attention to detail. IT really helps me as I work on pieces to take my time and do those extra steps.
