Florida Keys Permit- Catch Clean Cook (Bridge Fishing)

- The boys and I took a trip down to the Florida Keys, to fish the bridges. We were mainly targeting fish known as permit, which feed on crabs and other crustaceans. The keys bridges hold so many different species of fish including snapper, barracuda, grouper, tarpon, and lots of sharks! It has been a while since I've made a land based pier fishing videos, which is what I grew up doing. Permit are a firm fleshed fish best prepared fried, poached or sahsimi style!

Just Fried up my first Permit batch (Tradional Style... Louisiana Fry Mix dipped in egg first)... Canola Oil. Frigging fantastic! Firm and flavorful... damn near as good a Walleye!

I had the opportunity to get in the keys when it was closed and the bridges got a 2 month break from fishing this was during the tarpon migration there was 40-60 tarpon on each pilling and saw 100 permit on the pillings the keys are a gem 💎

Those things can get HUGE. I saw one at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut that was the size of a large dog.

The area you are at is like the southern Mackinac Bridge in the Uppermost Peninsula of Michigan. Lake Michigan and Huron meet directly under the bridge. I belong to the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians up there. If you ever want to eat tribal food let me know. We will take you out and show you how us Natives cook it up

Would love to see you brain the fish you catch more often. In South Africa it’s become something many of us take more seriously, with everything we now know about the way fish feel pain and fear. It’s easy and quick to do, and keeps things as ethical as possible. Hunt your own food for sure, it’s incredible, but put the fish out of their misery as soon as possible. 🙏🏼

There are ALOT of florida fishing channels but you rarely find 2 of your favorites in the same video, while responding to comments actively. Next time you see vic ask him if he wants some of the Maryland crab seasoning, I can send some whenever.

Only thing I've caught here are mangrove snappers, hardly over 11 inches, and ive been using live shrimp everywhere from skyway bridge to the grass flats
