    Well what about the people like me who have post op urinary retention!! I rather treat a uti than have a ruptured bladder. The trauma of being denied a cath. is horrible. Staff will tell me its in my head, and are shocked to see the volume of urine that is removed. Every surgery every hospital is the same. The pain is horrible.

    Many urinary catheter were used to treat UTI! This is counter intuitive. Neurogenic bladder or senile urinary retention is the most neglected area of medicine.
