Watching Ronaldinho play was the best you could get back in the day. The man did the unthinkable in the pitch, even against the best opposition. He loved the sport and got in the pitch to have fun more than anything else.
He definitely was gifted and, had he sorted out his personal life, he could have been the most outstanding of his time and even last longer in the sport than current Zlatan.

Great reaction. He came barcelona when the club was going through a rough time and brought the joy and the fans back.. when he played you literally couldn't take your eyes off of the screen because at any moment he would pull a majestic trick out of the bag, made players look ridiculous. His touch on the ball and his skill is incomparable to anyone else, I have not seen anyone as skillful as him, he had it all man agility, speed, skill, dribble, passing, vision, intelligence, the only thing he lacked was the discipline that messi and ronaldo have to train and maintain his body, my boy was a party animal đŸ€Ł, when he played at psg the coach had to go get him out of the clubs at night. In his prime he was better than messi ronaldo and all of them combined. He did play with messi, as a matter of fact he mentored messi when messi first came to the big team at barca at only 16, he was shy and dinho would have him seat next to him at lunch and would joke around with him to try to make him feel welcomed. Yaw should look up videos of dinho when he was at psg. Cheers đŸ€™

This man is a legend to all who watch football. My personal favourite. He always played with a smile and could do the most outrageous things but in good spirit. He partied hard and had a bunch of wives. He ended up in a Bolivian jail for trying to cross the border with a fake passport but I think he is out now. There's an interview of him back in the day telling the public that he wasn't the best and saying Messi was better than him (Messi was still only 17 or so and he wasn't quite the finished product yet so people were sleeping on him). Either way he is the definition of samba football and brought a lot of futsal tricks and skills to the 11 a side game. There will never be another like Ronaldinho and even though his numbers aren't up there with C. Ronaldo or Messi - I think he is still the greatest spectacle to ever play the game.

For my own bias sake, I recommend finding Michael Laudrup. Pretty much worship as a deity in Spain. Seen as the gentleman of footbal and one of the greatest of all times as well. Both Xavi and Iniesta retain him as their main idol and he has received recognition from his peers as a true great.
Another one, that’s I’m also biased towards would be Peter Schmeichel. He’s also regarded to be the best goalkeeper to ever play contested by Oliver Kahn and arguably Manuel Neuer now.

Messi and CR7 are rightly considered the all-time goats because they've been at the top for well over a decade. While some other forwards - like Suarez, Zlatan, Salah etc - might be able to compete with them for a year or two while at their absolute peak, the consistency and longevity of Messi and CR7 is what sets them apart.
Ronaldinho however was absolutely unplayable for a few years. There was no competition during that era.
