  • First full day fishing aboard Joel Jr second panga with Captail Jose "Nego" out of Bay of LA (Bahia de los Angeles), and it started off as a very slow grind targeting Cabrilla!
    After hours and hours of covering water and casting a countless amount of times from everyone, we were finally able to find some cooperative fish!
    the bite went from 0 to 100 REAL QUICK, and we all caught during a super fun little hour and a half flurry on the Yo-Zuri Hydro Minnows!
    After a short bite and success, we moved on for yellowtail fishing on speed jigs and yoyos, and my dad was able to land 2 nice quality yellows!
    At that point it was tie to wrap it up and head back in, where we drove to a secluded beach and grilled up some fresh cabrilla sandwiches and burgers with everyone for the night!
    Such a fun day with great company!

      My dad was using a Flatfall 160g. I was using a 180g SK jig, I personally like the SK's because you can work them a little bit faster, but the slower flatfalls definitely worked a little bit better this day!

    Hey Ray quick question when you run 100yds of 30lb for flyline on your torium 16 what braid do you use and how much line capacity do you get of braid and mono combined?

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  Před 16 dny

      I usually have about 250 - 300 yards of braid backing on all of my reels. My 16, I run 50 lb Maxcuatro on one of them and 65 lb on the other

      @@Dirty.Hookers and then I have another question when you get back from trips let’s say a 1.5 how do you wash your reels with long topshots? Do you replace the mono every time or do you take it off the spool and then wash the braid and then wash the mono ? I’m just wondering because I’m thinking about doing long topshots.
