Im the sample guy for bug missions XD. I go out looking to kill and just keep going oo piece of candy. Usually kill 3/4 of optional objectives and bring back like 40-50 samples
I think of it as the turd rock / the buttplug rock interchangeably.
Glad someone appreciates the sample guy I will literally finish with 30 samples 0 deaths and often the most kills on hell dive mode and people still crying the whole time "where is our teammate?"

drives me nuts lol. I'm only level 10. So far most randoms I've played with just run straight to objective, maybe taking out a few outposts along the way - but NEVER picking up samples.
You don't need to kill every patrol. You don't need to take out all outposts. But as a lvl 10 I DO NEED those fucking samples, I have zero gear !

@@matteparent2468 As a higher level lad who has had all the numbers maxed out for a while now (Just unlocked my last medals option!) I will always pick up samples!
A: I don't know what state my other party members inventories are in, and more importantly;
B: I have a pathological need to collect the samples after spending all that work spilling the outpost oil.
But uhh, there are people out there who will still help you out; just gotta get to level 7 difficulties.
Fight bots, and you literally only need to the AMR (Or Autocannon; dealers choice), and precision strike to deal with every single threat. (Except factory striders... They uhh.... Just run away and let it despawn?)

I love those guys, the main group goes loud so they can keep quiet and bring back the candy
As long as the Sample Collectors are baiting enemy reinforcements away from the main objectives, they're fine by me.
Ideally you do the main obj as a group then split up on the way to the next to pick up samples and do the easier secondary missions. Of course on difficulty 8+ that can get tricky.

Or, every squad has dudes that don't play the objectives, alert all patrols and get swarmed unnecessary, while others go for objectives and grab samples on the way

I'll never forget my first Carbot video of the new to FromSoftware player arrives in Elden Ring with that gullible sense of wonder and amazement only to get wrecked by absolutely everything that breathes. I'm so glad I found this channel, and I always recommend it to any new gamer friends I make.

This is why, if your pathing happens to take you near Extract, to just drop all your samples on the pad and pick them up before getting into the Pelican. Then again, I've been that Sample Guy, running recon, grabbing the shinies, then running back to help with the Obj. (Usually they've already gotten control by then, or have been swarmed and are retreating, drawing enough enemies off that I can crawl to the terminal to finish the job)
I like how Pelican 1 broke the laws of physics and went straight into a vertical take-off from a horizontal resting position 🤣

0:44 reminds me of my random team mates on difficulty 7-9 just reinforcing me into the horde. It was the reason I wanted to upgrade that Hellpod steering on the ship module ASAP.
They probably wanted you to flatten a heavy. Blows my mind when people completely whiff a marked heavy target with a hellpod cuz they're skurred.
@@orochifire Depending on weather (and performance) it can be very hard to even see the heavy.
@@orochifiremost people intentionally whiff the heavy because they either get stuck under its corpse, mulched by the swarm of enemies around the heavy, or blown apart by their own teammates.
@@orochifireit would certainly help if the taged the big ones so it's easier to fall on though.
@@orochifire If they wanted me to kill a heavy with my drop, they should've marked or pinged it but no, most randoms early on would usually just reinforce me middle of a group of hunters or bile spewers.

So... there was one time, right, that I did that? Killed all but one of our team members because THAT was when my orbital basically sniped the orb itself out of the air as it started blasting and hit all 3 of us as we were getting on the pelican. xD I mean my character launched the strata-ball, it tapped the ground and IMMEDIATELY the ground was on fire and my screen was glowing.
Chat from the other two was just like: "Dude..."
I'm like, "When have you EVER seen it launch that fast!?"

the feeling when you beat Helldive automaton with just 2 deaths with your friend with all the samples (requires hailstorm and lot of running from your problems)
Completed a helldive last night where 7ish bile titans spawned in the last minute. We killed most of them with drop pods. Two of us made it out and somehow I ended up with 50 samples.
@@reclhoss When people start dying enmasse, the samples eventually gets consolidated to a single person. :P
@@sinteleon I am very good at running away from bugs. Someone dies I zig zag my way over to their samples and usually extract with the whole teams samples.

I do that too, I play with randoms and got sick and tired of getting caught in cluster strikes. It's safer for me to do things alone half the time.
Landmines are the absolute worst. Dudes are always throwing them in the worst places.
Everywhere is the worst place for land mines.

Its not an exaggeration of how it is like to play this game, if anything, this cartoon is actually a watered down representation of how, just utterly ridiculously over the top playing helldivers 2 is really like.

Funny thing. Whenever I get matched with 3 other people, 1 of 2 things will happen. We split up into 2 groups of 2, or those 3 run off and continuously die while I'm solo completing secondary objectives and finding samples.
The constant dive-jumping is just too real...
