What about adding vinegar in the vat, turn the machine on and then sprinkle baking soda. Would the reaction be more intense?
It shouldn't be as it's a chemical reaction and the vibrations should have no bearing unless it's somehow mixed quicker or more thoroughly.

When they turned on the machine, my headphones were immediately off of my ears. That is one of the most unpleasant sounds I have ever heard. Still a great video though.

@Nate, instead, or, in addition to the hot glue, use silicone caulk. It's both waterproof and flexible (to withstand the vibration.)

Try brewing tea or coffee in the ultrasonic cleaner. See if it brews faster, if there's any changes in flavor, etc.
Also, poaching eggs and vegetables, heating up soup. Cream might be interesting to see in there, to see if it separates into butter and skim milk. and I know it sounds weird, but after seeing the ooblik, I wanna see mashed potatoes in the ultrasonic cleaner 😂

Using hot water on the gummy bear was a bad idea. It just melted it.

Well yh the ultrasonic waves are basically a force and that's why the starch+water combo was gripping less when the device was operating as it hardens if force is applied.

*What are the properties of oobleck (or maybe it’s the corn starch) that allows it to solidify when energy is added and liquefy when in static motion?*
Like what does the corn starch do that makes it behave the way it does when added to water?
When undisturbed water particles act as a lubricant between the corn starch particles. Due to the size of these particles the water actually let's them repel each other. However, when force is applies those water particles are pushed out and causes the particles to smash together and friction takes over which then causes the mix to act more like a solid.

If you have ever wondered how plastic is melted to plastics i.e. toner cartridge's, ultra sonic welding. Ultra sonic welding can literally melt fingers if they are in the wrong spot.
Use the ultrasonic cleaner to make crystal clear ice
Try a few small sealed bottles of some cheap alcohols and see if an hour in the ultrasonic cleaner can change the flavour. I remember that adding certain woods to the alcohol and zapping it in the ultrasonic cleaner can make cheap scotch etc taste like expensive ones, but I don't have a link to the video off CZcams as it was years ago.

I kinda want to see how dry ice reacts to the ultrasonic. It like levitates off most surfaces because of the air it produces, but how would it work in an ultrasonic? And possibly in water in the ultrasonic. Also. How would fruits work in an ultrasonic? It's made of cells and a lot of water it might like become jellow as it becomes gelatinous. And how would apple's differ from, like an orange, or like a watermelon? because obviously different fruits have different densitys or different makeups.

Hey guys I think there is actually a liquid you’re supposed to put in that helps make the vibrations go through the liquid quicker and proper. Yeah I waterworks but I would look up and see what the liquid is. I’m not sure if it’s distilled water, or a certain type of liquid like paraffin or something like that. Anyway thanks for the video
