I really like the 2 rotary graters, but which was your favorite?
First iliked 3rd
Honestly, first makes peeling a lot easier

I actually sent the handheld to my mom and she has already decided to buy it. We have a small kitchen lol
Rotary reminds me of the rotary brothers from Initial X

The handheld cheese grater model is so old, we had that in the sixties. We had more drums though, so you could grate fine or not do fine and also cucumber slices. Sixties, so ours was all metal
The actual grater part is metal
I just like the handle you spinny spin
I guess that it shows just how good it is then?
Just don't try to grind up Epsom salt that you heated up to get water out of with it.
Yeah my mom had a metal one for as long as I remember 😂

Nice one for cleaning and drying the larger rotary chopper after each food item!!! That must have been a mission!!!
I would love to have the rotary for ground nuts. Desserts and breads, as well as smoothies would all benefit from ground nuts, not to mention old fashioned oatmeal. Great to see more long content from you. I've missed it.
Some great (grate) ideas there, thanks!

I like the simplicity of the first grater. I'd like to see the slicer recipes. Curious to see what could be made. 👍👍
it’s been a year since i saw him, his videos are still creative and cool all the time.
“Pretty cool huh?” The best speech this man has ever made.
Pretty cool huh?
You were my favorite childhood chanel with your cooking gadgets. I had to search for your chanel for a long time. Keep up with the amazing work!
I’ve been watching for like 4 years and I just recently found your channel again and it’s so entertaining when I don’t want to watch other stuff,
Your videos are like a gateway to peak relaxation if you sit in your bed or couch and watch.
We purchased that same large, red, rotary grater maybe a year ago. It truly is grate....😅! Very handy!

A recipe you could use the sheeter for is a vegetarian, wheat-free lasagne my grandmother created.
I don't know the exact recipe, nobody but her does, but I _do_ know that the "noodles" for the lasagne are slices of aubergines.
I'm going to try growing them for the 1st time this year, coincidentally. Disliked them as a child, but tastes change, so I'm giving it a go. You & your grandma just gave what may be my 1st dish for them. Thanks! ☮
@@echognomecal6742I don’t like aubergines, but I do like courgettes, and making a sheet-free/low-carb lasagna was the first thing I thought of when I saw that long slice of zucchini! If it turns out you still don’t like aubergines, try the courgettes instead. :)
@@DawnDavidson Hey thanks! I'm going to try growing them as well. Last year I only got 2 tiny ones. I'll have a couple of options now, awesome! Plus my vegan friend will be proud of me lol
I love your videos, Dave! I‘ve been watching this since I was a kid and now I still watch it, as an adult! Memorable memories!
I have the rotary cheese shredder. I have had it for about 7 years I love it. There are 3 barrels of different size shreds/ slices.
Great video Dave. I liked the handheld rotary grater. I wonder how well it would work with other cheeses, like a bit softer cheddar. And I would love to see some recipes from the gadgets you try too, or just in general.
we have a similar product; the soft cheese gums up the edges between the drum and the housing, it's kind of messy, but it does grate the cheese!
Yes! I really enjoy your videos and they are so entertaining! I've been rewatching all your videos!
Ah thanks so much! Which type of content do you enjoy the most?

I like the slicer thing, but wonder why anyone would want to have big long pieces of something 😕 I did laugh though when it came flying off when doing the carrot "flippin 'eck" dunno why I found it so amusing but I did. My favourites are the graters - They look like decent quality too. Thank you for another "grate" 🙄 video 😁
I think it is to fold or roll the large piece into a rose. Probably for catering / canapés. You can see an example on the slicer's box in the video.
Vegan pasta?
The zucchini sheets can be made into a gluten free lasagna!
@@salt7625 bruh,what else?
@@scarlettguest3753some pasta has egg in it, so it isn’t vegan. If it’s all vegetable, then it’s obviously vegan. :) Also wheat free and low-carb. Great option for people who can’t do one or more of those things.

You could fold the fruit and vegetables into decorative flowers to top entrees and deserts with. When you began rolling up the zucchini, it started to look like a rose, which is how I got the idea.
Definitely going to order this, and use the slices for lasagne, in place of the noodles...and so much more!

I think those gadgets have been around since the 70s at least. Probably the 1800s even,I'm old, but not that old! LOL. But it is interesting to see how well they work on various veg and fruits.

Why are these titles getting more and more insane💀💀 also bro i applaud the fact that your content quality and vibe hasnt changed at all
Right... Very interesting looking plug indeed.
We love our small rotary cheese grater! Works really well. We use it almost exclusively for grating cheese onto pasta or salad. The one we have takes a bit of pressure to keep the pressure on the cheese or it stops grating properly. The one shown here looks better.
The vegetable peeler-slicer would be AWESOME to make a low-carb/keto lasagna. :)
Lovely channel &...grate-ful...for the attention to cleanliness.
Never know what might be on things from the manufacturing process & the factory floor. Best to be safe.
Currently looking to see if there's a dishwasher-safe version bc a thing like that'd save me loads of time- our most precious possession.

12:40 If you want to grate softer cheeses, it is better to partially freeze the cheese first. The same goes for doing so in a food processor.
Fantastic, the rotary graters with the slicer as well, also the ice shaver ❤️👍🏻👍🏻

I’m curious to see what recipes you can make with the long slicer, maybe a veggie lasagna?
I think the main idea is things like sushi where thin veggies can be used for presentation, but veggie lasagna is a great idea. You could also cut the sheet into strips for veggie noodles
@@aceentity7703 genuinely that is a very good idea, like zucchini pasta? Something like that?
@slice_binocular6124 yeah, I'm not sure what else you could use it with some carrots are too tough. Cucumber?
First video of yours i've seen; Instant subscribe! Beautiful review of an interesting gadgets!
I love those cheese graters that you featured, but I personally prefer the grater that snaps into the PTO port of my KitchenAid stand mixer. Because it is using the mixer's motor, if your grater barrel is sharp enough you could chop up a louisville slugger with it.

a way to improve the gadget
make the spike itself be the point of rotation instead of the paddles
its already a + shaped spike so it shouldnt be able to spin freely inside the thing your cutting
that would be all id do to improve it
Hey Dave if you put a potatoe peal before use it and the when you make it into a sheet boil it in oil when it's done you should have some long chips.
Interesting... I've seen both rotary graters used at Olive Garden, the bigger one first than the smaller handheld one. Nice to know you can now have your own cause the patients have expired.
My CZcams recommended is just Elden Ring challenge run, Elden Ring challenge run, British man reviewing kitchen gadgets, Elden Ring lore. This content is completely different from what I usually watch, but it is also weirdly addictive.
I still remember this guys old gallium videos I remember loving those videos so much :)
We used to have a similar cheese grater back in the early 90s. It came with 3 different blades
Mate, turn the onion 90 degrees. Fine rings. Slice off top, put starburst of cuts that stop before you get to the root, place upside down. Fine diced.

Used to work in restaurants and a hack we used for grating soft cheese like at @12:25 was freeze soft cheeses before grating. Then, let it (the frozen, grated cheese) thaw at room temperature.
Great tip, thanks!
Great grater (at the last)
If the carrot is slightly microwave cooked it would be softer?
I'm really liking the rotary slicer!!!
Should make some interesting dehydrated food and other garnishes.
Lasagna 🍎 apple pies
I have had the same worktop rotary grater for about 6 months, and while its grating and slicing abilities are very good, the edges are still sharp and do a great job - there are issues you need to be aware of. Well, issue, a big one and thats the suction! I have found it to have a very narrow band of functionality. By that, I mean the surface needs to be spotlessly clean, super smooth, like marble or granite, and not old and knife damaged. Wooden surfaces no good, and old damaged worktops like ours cause it to come unstuck at the first signs of any pressure. If this happens at just the wrong moment, you really can give your cranking hand a bit of bash on the worktop or any nearby small appliances. Can you tell I speak from experience? 😂
I have tried several techniques to improve the suction but to no avail. So its a faff but I use it in a large glass baking tray, which in turn sits on a nonslip rubber mat, wedged into corner of worktop/walls. This seems to work and as its generally used if grating or slicing a lot, its worth the faff, because I have health issues which make the effort and strength needed for regular graters, or the handheld one you also demonstrated, not great for me.
But, if you have appropriate surfaces, get your CC out and buy one, they are brilliant when they do work. 😊
Hey Dave, just curious, if you got the option to choose one of your customized color, which one would you pick?
Your videos are amazing! If you need any ideas I think you should try tech gadget next!
