Thanks a bunch for this guide. My favorite civ is Rus but I couldn't really find any comprehensive builds that branch into multiple strategies and so I kind of felt lost doing anything other than my old 2TC build. The aggro variant seems very fun.
Been doing these exact builds for a while, both variations. It feels great to have knights out before a second tc.
Great video, possibly the best. I found it really helpful that you say what opening to use against each civ. I was surprised that you thought horticulture should come before wheelbarrow. I was also really surprised that you built a second scout from your TC. I get that it's faster than building 2 from the hunting cabin, but I'm surprised that getting that scout out faster is more valuable than an extra villager.

I have recently switched to the rus a couple weeks ago and struggled to learn them. They are good at eco but not the best and same with aggression and also dont feel they have the "required unit" like other civs do during castle.
My main philosophy was "I cant out eco the eco civs so I will all in them in fuedal." or "the tempo civs cant hurt me if I go eco"
Im so thankful to see a build order break it down and explain it. Jack of all trades civ is rough when "fastest second tc, fastest castle, ect" doesnt work the same for Rus as it would for china/abbasid or HRE/OTD

I typically play 2v2, and feel like 2TC - FC leaves me with too little military for too long (they can easily gang up on my teammate who doesn't have Kremlin).
I'd think 2TC aggro could be ideal in many situations, or would you have another suggestion?

Any tip on team games as Rus? 1 tc agression or 2tc agression to give team mates time to grow?
In the 1TC Aggro build, when do you want to add additional Archery Ranges or Stables? I couldn't really tell from the replay since you didn't view your own base towards the end of the match

Abbey of kings 2tc is very popular right now, and 1tc fc relics into knight archer siege is the fastest way to win against it.

Can I do pretty much the same style with French? I like the idea of starting aggressive with some knights and deciding where to go from there
It depends, because if you first instigate feudal aggro play, you do not have the Kremlin as French to just back out.
I recommend playing only aggressive or aggresive/trade with french
Can someone explain the matchup chart for me? Why are Order of the dragon and Japan in the 2tc fc line up? Aren't those factions that you want to pressure from the very beginning because they are weaker in feudal? At least peronally I want to deal with feudal Japan instead of CA Japan. Same with Order of the dragon before they a lot more units going.
I can't understand it, either, as far as I understand, Rus always wants your opponents to stay in feudal because they have knights
I've been getting Wheelbarrow during Dark Aage when I know that I can secure that 250, when I go into 3 knights and 2nd TC.
So ditch Wheelbarrow for later?
It is rare that I can get a couple knights out AND wheelbarrow, but if you have free bounty you can do whatever you want with it :)
Not sure why but I can't hit the age up until like 2:45-3:00, maybe I'm pulling vills off too early to match the 2:15 time
yea i tried a few times this strat too, and was never able to start ageup before 3min
Kinda off topic regarding this video but what in your opinion is the best civ to end games quickly? I hate long games and drawn out battles….I much prefer early aggression and to end games in 25 mins or less.

@@greeneyesfromohio4103 thats the whole point of the civ. Print units, apply pressure, take sacred sites. You will always have more than them and you put them on a timer at the same time

I’ve read up on the Delhi’s civilization bonuses and strengths…is the reason they are a good civ for early aggression and to end games quickly is because they can garrison Scholars in military buildings and pump them out quicker as well as the Tower of victory landmark giving all infantry 20% attack speed? Am I understanding that correctly? Sorry for being a newb.
@@greeneyesfromohio4103 yes, since you need 0 vills on gold and all the upgrades are for free you can use your entire economy for making army at double speeds and infantry get 20% attack speed which is crazy.
Why 2nd scout from TC? Save time from hunting camp build?
You need the 2nd scout faster to cover both sides of the opponent’s base as deer spawn only on one side at times and that can result in very low bounty

you don't have to do 3, but you'll often be short on gold and age up too late/over-gather food/have to mine gold to make knight if you do 2
IMO aoe2 is more stable rockvpapervscissors without the feudal knights. Aoe4 feudal knights are too OP from a logistics standpoint. Gets worse in teams
