    We stayed in Observatory which is very Bohemian, affordable, and real South African. We were in Camp's Bay for a while, which was not our favorite place to be. Observatory has a younger, college oriented population. Lots of backpackers stay there.. It's easy to get an Uber, and is close to shopping and cafes. I always felt safe. I am hoping to live there eventually.

    Thank you Rob for informative video. I've been three times in Cape Town before I was relocate to the US Florida in 2006. My family is still in South Africa and I am going to get back in some while after my retirement here. I miss South Africa a lot, well not all of its places, certainly. I still visiting my daughters and they want me back. But I don't want to get to Northern areas of RSA where they are living, if I go there I guess I choose places like Tzanin, Hannesberg, Dalstrum. Don't remember if I spelled them correct. But the best aria where I see myself in some future it is Cape area. It is why I do searching for some information.

    • @RobGrobdasha
      @RobGrobdasha  Před 3 lety +1

      Most of the Cape Town area is really nice so moving here would require that you pop on by and have a look around, every area has it's own appeal and views of the mountains, my favorite area is Blouberg and Camps bay but that's just what I like you might like the farmlands such as Stellenbosch, like I say best come and look around.

    • @RobGrobdasha
      @RobGrobdasha  Před 3 lety +2

      Prices are always dependent on actual location in Blouberg eg a house at the beach is far more expensive than a house 5 km inland. In general when available you can budget for the average areas in Blouberg about R2000 000 to R3000 000

    Is robbery as big as a problem as people say in the expensive areas?

    • @RobGrobdasha
      @RobGrobdasha  Před 3 lety +1

      Crime will always be an issue to concern yourself with no matter the country or the area , it is rather just the level of safety that you have in any particular area. Cape Town for having a safety factor in your home is probably the best in South Africa, Most people are moving to Cape Town from inland towns as they have become an unsafe place to live due to Robbery, at that violent Robbery. Cape Town is more fixed on Drug related crime. That said I am no crime expert I can only comment on what i see and experience, and I have experienced living inland in those unsafe areas and can feel a clear difference when living in the Western Cape and won't move from this area.

    • @Brenda90210
      @Brenda90210 Před 2 lety +1

      You might like Sea Point . It’s much more reasonable than Camps bay etc and very nearby. My house is in Durbanville ( northern suburb) . I think it’s also a good location because it’s almost exactly halfway between the beaches on one side and then the Stellenbosch / Franschhoek winelands on the other side .

    • @RobGrobdasha
      @RobGrobdasha  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, I don't know Bredasdorp that well, but I always suggest moving to an area that has a normal population with shopping malls etc depending on where you came from when changing province, not a place with very little people as you need to adjust to the area. Once adjusted you can choose your perfect location.
