Hello - with the statement above "As a result, camping facilities will not be available through the summer of 2023.", will this information be passed on to the reservation call center? We have a reservation at Seacliff Campground in July and after reading your post, I assumed we would be getting a call/email with refund information. The call center said they had not received any updates about the campground being closed for the summer. Obviously, the sooner we know the better so we can have a back-up plan. Thank you so much for working so hard to clear the debris and rebuild. :)
Sorry this information is incorrect, we are able to confirm that camping will be closed through February of 2023 and are currently in the process of assessing our recovery strategy. We will continue to update the public in the near future as soon as we have definitive information to share.
Hi Crissy, Thank you for expressing your concern. We are still in the assessment stage of our recovery. I'm sure you can see by the devastation in our photos that recovery is going to take time and quite of bit of effort from multiple agencies. Currently, there is no definitive date for reopening the RV Overnight Camping section of Seacliff State Beach. I will forward your concern to our cooperating partner, 'Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks' who works together with 'Reserve California' and should be able to update the reservation system to reflect the current status.
Hi There, we still are assessing the damage but at this time can confirm that the campground will remain closed through February of 2023. We'll continue to update the public as we learn more information. Thanks again for your continued support!
My fear is the campground will be turned into more day use. I have some great memories camping there, one of the few right on the water. Please rebuild it to at least what it was.
