I was at this show! As always, they played their asses off. I have a few great memories about this show. I took my sister and younger brother to the show. My dear, departed sister was a year older than me. She was legally blind, but wanted to meet the band if possible, so we hung around the Civic Auditorium parking lot after the show. There weren't many others who joined us. We thanked them all for the great show as they passed. Robin stopped and chatted with my sister for a bit. He was so incredibly sweet with her, giving her scarf a little tug while she told him how much she loved his voice. He came across as a genuinely nice guy. I appreciated that so much.
Also, I asked Bun E. if he could give me an autograph, but sign it Brad Carlson. He said, "I only do that for the IRS." :)
    Thanks for sharing this!

How About You is one of my favorite CT songs that doesn’t get much hype. Stoked to hear it live.

Wait, THE Johnny Million, who I see every Saturday morning with Hal Sparks on You Tube digs Cheap Trick...and "How About You" too? Most excellent!

Seeing I´m from Europe I always have a problem how the date is noted. So I thought let´s check setlist FM. They state: Setlist FM says: Morris Civic Auditorium, South Bend, IN April 12, 1987 and La Porte Civic Auditorium, La Porte, IN April 11, 1987... Anyway great concert!

Gah Dang, that version of "I Can't Take It" knocked me down with how hard it slaps.

I never understood why the single Tonight It's you wasn't a staple from '85 through, say, 94 or so. It was an Mtv vid, it had some radio success, and most of all it is a GREAT song!

The band' distancing themselves from the near career killing years of 1984-1986. "Tonight" wasn't even top 40 and "Standing" sold so poorly that it went out of print.

@@nicholasvertucci2054 They rightfully distanced themselves from those years. Even if there were good songs in those years those albums are produced so poorly it doesn't sound like the same band.

The album that put them back in clubs and gained them a spot opening for Ratt. They had to stop performing those songs to save the band.
