- Just because we're short on space doesn't mean we should be short on storage! So stoked to show you how I built this modern DIY wall hanging bike rack for our apartment in ONE DAY using leftover materials in my workshop!
This project was inspired by CB2 (www.cb2.com/wood-bike-storage...) and was tailored to fit our space and my other half's bicycle! It includes bonus storage for his helmet, keys, sunglasses, and more!
This project is sponsored by DAP Products.

did this bike hanger yesterday! thanks for the help. 😊
Nice vid! As an aspiring DIY'er and triathlete I've had to kind of switch over temporarily to the tri training and leave my woodworking on the sideline. (As you probably know, the tri training takes up TONS of time!) I'm digging that bike too....
Excellent build. I have zero use for this but I watch for learning techniques and to see you shed setup as it's a small space. Cannot wait to see how you tweak the space.
Thank you so much! It’s been fun to learn how to get creative in this space!
this perfect for my bike i needed it high but minimal but soild so it can take a heavy bike , im definitely going to use this idea as my skeleton design thanks, from uk brum
Beautiful walnut wood pic and impressive carpentry skills
That's great, Sam. Very ingenious. I don't have a need for one of these but I still always enjoy your content. Stay safe.
Bill
Thanks for the love, Bill!
I haven't got all the specialist tools but will have a go to make one, won't be as good as this but as long as it serves it purpose it'll do.
Totally doing this for my vintage bike i bought at the thrift store ❤️
Ahh! A vintage bike would look SO good hanging on a wall! Please share with me when you do! 😍
Loving the new bike art;)
👍🏻👍🏻 Very Clever, the bike itself is a piece of ART ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! 😍
This is an awesome video. I have a mountain bike that I absolutely love, but can't ride because I'm in dire need of a hip replacement. I know that leaving a bike on the ground on the tires is not good for it so I'm looking for a better way to store my bike. This looks like just the thing. Thanks for sharing. Got yourself a new sub too.
Gives me good idea for hanging bike in garage. Thanks Sam.
Yess! No, thank you!
Thank you! Solved a problem for me too
Thanks for the idea, im gonna try to do it myself :)
Fantastic Quality
Incredible ! work
Love the bike hanger (and the bike!) Might have to make a couple for my bikes :)
Ahh! I’d love that!
It's awesome, great vid. Keep'em coming!👍🏽
Thank you so much!
Nice work. I used to make gun cabinets and when i was making the barrel holders. I would drill the holes through the center of a board then ripe it in half. No tare out that way. 🙂👏👏👏
Thank you! That’s a good idea! I usually flip the board over and then finish drilling through the other side, but this forstner bit’s tip was too shallow. Gonna invest in some new ones.
Another great video!
I would like to suggest a challange for one of your future projects, one that combines your love for challenging projects and your love for epoxy- A floating furniture using glass clear epoxy.
Thank you - I love this idea so much! 100% going to start brainstorming!
Sigh. I've been on a snack break for 3 years.
Ahahah. Best sneak break, ever!
Good idea with the foam cushion to take some stress off the horizontal carbon fiber tube.
YESS. Was a priority. Don't want to mess up his bike!
Awesome work Sam! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks, Fred!
Your ring is gorgeous!!
Thank you so much! 🥰
THIS VID WAS AMAZING!!!! I loved it. Great job!!!
Thank you!
Smart idea ❤❤❤
That’s super nice 👍🏽
Nice video and very nice tri bike
Great video. Awesome one day build. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Thanks, friend! Hope all is well!
It's like you was reading my mind. I was looking for some ideas for wall storage ideas for my mountain bikes.
Yess! This makes me so happy! My best advice for heavier bikes is to invest in heavier duty screws for assembly and also try to install in as many studs as possible. 😊
@@diyhuntress thank you for the advice.
ohhhh I love this!
Thank youuuu! 😍
Nice bike.
Nice video and a very creative way to save space! I'm also looking into installing a bike rack in my flat (not as elaborate as this though :D ) . I do have a question: does the wall you mount the bike rack into have to be of certain thickness to hold the weight of the bicycle?
Toooo cool!
Thank you, friend!
I love the idea, and I wish I could do it. Got a lot wider handle bars on a mountain bike tho. It would have sit over a foot away from the wall.
The one I built here has just shy of a 12” platform! It might work? May just have to reinforce the back a bit more.
I’m going to make 2 this weekend
What!! I’m so excited! Please share when you’re done!
great 👍
Voll geil!
If you drill with a forstner bit to avoid tear out try clamping a scrap bit of wood underneath to continue drill into. It leave little to no tear out.
I actually did that and still got tear out (you can see the scrap piece underneath). Time for some better bits!
Great
Great job! And, I love your hair color! (Formerly “MrMouse”)
Ahah - thanks! And, hi!
Nice work!!! Coudl you send me the measures of the wood pieces?? Thaaaanks
Can you help out and send the measurements of the wood you used?
Sam, this looks so good and love that you show the whole process (even the smaller holes and of course SNACK TIME!)
Thank you!! Let’s be real, snack time is my favorite part of any project. 😂
Dang this is so cool. But I don’t think I could do this, plaster lath walls in a 1910s bungalow :/. Dunno what they did with their bikes lol.
Hey, great build! What was the art fixed to the wall with? Thanks 🙂
Just 3M strips! Talk more about that in my apartment makeover video!
It only works so well because his bike is shmexy :p
but seriously that's a very cool "one-day-using-scraps" project!
Very nice project! I think it looks great on the wall. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Aw. That's so beautiful. I have to ask though -- who plays guitar? I just started and it's very hard and very rewarding.
Thank you! My other half - he’s so talented. 🥰
Awesome work Sam,
The only modification I would make would be to mount it with a french cleat to hide the screw holes on the front.
Keep it up!
Thank you! Is it weird that I kind of like the screws as a decorative element? It’s why I decided to keep them. 😊
She is beautiful 🤩
Love it and can't wait to collab again soon buddy!!
SAMEEE. Thanks for helping my work look better. 😉
Oh man, Eric I've missed your videos dude! Please do collab again and show off your skills, your talent needs to be seen by more people.
Спасибо! Очень интересно!
Thank you!
@@diyhuntress Best of the best !!!
😍😍😍
At first I thought... Wtf??? Walnut???? I use plywood... Three pieces of wood... Four screws and a little glue... Half hour!!!
I didn't realize it was for her appointment... That's furniture...
Very nice!!!!!
Apartment!!!
👍
😊
Very nice work, kindly, but not all the people has the quality of your machines To work 😬, anyway good💐
Nice project, gotta say though that shop space was making me question your tool choices. Ryobi, Milwaukee, Rigid, DeWalt... all in the same shop? If sponsors are sending them to you free that makes sense, otherwise wouldn't it be a hell of a lot easier to just stick to one brand? Fewer batteries to buy, no mixing them up, fewer chargers to keep track of....
If you can't find a home for your wooden wall art, I would buy it!
Ahhh! Deal!
@@diyhuntress 😃😃😃😍😍😍
You need more cordless drills.
Haha. I share my tools with my dad... so, I would argue that I actually do. 😂
👍👌❤👍👌❤👍👌❤
😊
The only problem I can see is it is for one bike only, where do you put your bike?
You can make multiple. 😊
M
How cool is it when your girl makes you a rack for your trick road bike?
Hahaha. It’s a win, win situation. 🙌🏼
@@diyhuntress now you have me scheming ! I want to make hangers for my bikes.
@@64maxpower That would be awesome. I hope you'll share photos if you do!
