In the modern world there are a huge number of young people who are busy with complete nonsense, and only multiply the consumer society. They are glued tightly to their gadgets, to money, cars, yachts, houses, to drugs, booze, to glamorous women, or something worse. How amazing and joyful to meet at least on the Internet such an amazing guy as Ruben. Now this is a great rarity, this is what is called humanism, this is real life.

I took care of opossums, raccoons, puppies, kittens, baby beavers, skunks! I worked as a Veterinary Technician for 7 years. I loooove watching your videos! I am now 61 now and 100 percent disabled. Isolated like you are, you had boarding school to give you insight and socialization into the "outside" world. You seem very well rounded, settled and mature for your age. Your insights into animals and ppl go hand in hand, they correlate. It shows your depth of empathy and understanding of life. All I can say is congratulations for the knowledge you have gained.
I just stumble in your channel couple days ago, feel in love with Cindy, the meerkats, the mongoose and the warthogs, they are absolutely amazing animal in their own way and Cindy is the queen . Animals been misunderstood and mistreated hope this channel will bring out more kindness. Thank you for sharing

I grew up in a similar atmosphere... but in the mountains of the upper desert. My favorite thing to do...also...after a good downpour, was take off for the moutains. The aroma of the moist sand and the lupine flowers was intoxicating. Your video brings back memories of my childhood. Hold on to that little piece of heaven on earth for as long as you can.

That was really great Ruben, and I get why you cannot answer everybody who comments or asks a question. I hope that at some point I will get a reaction or answer from you, but if not, it will not stop me from posting comments.
It might sound corny to say this, and especially because of you being from Namibia, but when I did my trip to South Africa and Kenya in 2018, I was trying to add Namibia onto the trip because of exactly what you mentioned here - the unique landscape. It just takes my breath away and I sincerely hope that I get my chance to visit.

It is such a tragedy about the rhino population. I hope you go far in your ambition to save as many as possible and quell the rash of the cruel poaching problems they face. Namibia is such a surprisingly varied country - quite beautiful.

WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON? WE HAVE MILLIONS OF CHILDREN DYING EVERYDAY OF STARVATION! GET REAL! YOU CLEARLY ARE NOT A CRITICAL THINKER TO THINK A “GOD” WILL FEED YOU AND TAKE CARE OF YOU! THERE IS A REASON WE ARE ALL HERE ON EARTH! TO LEARN LESSONS SO THAT WE CAN ELEVATE OUR SPIRIT TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF ENLIGHTENMENT
I would be extremely cautious about accepting volunteers/temp or even letting people vacation there. People can be very wild in what they feel entitled to do and the ways they will act. This is your home. It is one thing to schedule something in public but i wouldnt hsve people in your home area. Thats just my advice.
I agree. Inviting volunteers could change the farm's wonderful solitude. Plus the animals would be approached by strangers whom you really don't know.

thats called socialization in think, im so glad you are talking about it, so im going to write about it here, YES im SURE the reason many animals are upset have anger issues etc... bite etc...its because
1 - they are always alone somewhere in the house
2- they NEVER go out or go out very little
ITS FOR SURE THE TWO main reasons, they are like us, i want people after reading this to THINK if it was the other way around.
imagine YOU as a baby always alone never going out b=never seeing the sun never touch love someone,
id absolutely be 100% feral im SURE of it
imagine now an animal who doesnt know what the heck is going on and why is being treated like this, why its being abused like this, because its also abuse treat any animal like that

I love your answers. I've been to Namibia many times (I live in Cape Town), and it's my favourite country to visit in the world (I also lived in London and travelled a lot). I have so many amazing memories, stories and adventures all over that beautiful country. When I took my friend from Israel onto the Big Daddy dune, he started crying at the top... And I totally understood. Sossusvlei is probably my favourite place on the planet... (not just the dunes, but the stars as well). But I haven't been to Namibia in years... I need to do something about that!

I’m a 74 y/o man in Atlanta Georgia. My first 20 years of life were on a farm in middle Georgia. We grew cucumbers, soy bean, corn, pigs and peanuts. My joy was combining peanuts in the hot summer and tending to piglets in the fall/winter months. I’m really enjoying your posts(I can’t think of what it’s called). Makes me nostalgic in a nice way. Your looks help too!

Thanks Ruben, your sharing is special and funny. That Namibian road you're standing on is beautiful and reminds me of just how special your country is. My grandparents owned the farm Nina in the Khomas region on the road past Doornpoort. You may be familiar with it.

i recently lost my job, live in america, very depressed and down with how things are going here especially for single males no kids or family… i’m sure you can figure out why.
just very disappointed and lonely with how society and humanity is. I always hated my job just a means to an end.
I would love to do something with animals. there’s no way to afford land in the states and idk what it would take to make an animal shelter.
Just seems like a much more fulfilling life

I'm just in awe with the great relationships you have with various animals. As a Finn🇫🇮 I feel I'm close to nature. But after watching your videos I started wondering - where are all the big or medium sized mammals here in Europe. I asked ChatGPT. Apparently we have eaten and hunt them down to extinction millennia ago... But Europe is basically more or less a continuous city so.

@@Rubennamibia We still have moose lol But in the past some 2000 years ago we apparently had all kinds of animals. Thankfully in Finland we still have our glorious nature😀
@@toms5996 Yes I remember to be careful of Moose when driving, they are pretty large animals up to 2.1 m shoulders, which suddenly materialize out of the forests. One thing humans did not get rid of are the millions of bloodsucking gnats, muggies that turn your skin black with their sheer massas . My experience when backpacking near Haemeelinna way back, (luckily no bears or wolves encountered). Just forests, wilderness & silence. No one should miss the beauty of Finland, lakes with drifting swans, hundreds or more of islands, endless forests & lovely people.
