I remember going to my college as a 19-year-old man on this Hero Honda Splendour. I know its basic but its practical. The sole purpose of this bike is to get from point A to point B and so on and it does that quite well. Highly reliable, efficient and cheap means of commute.

This was the king of its era. My dad still uses a 2000 one. I have a trigger and I kind of still like it for the bullet proof reliability and precious moments it has given us.

We have a First generation splendor which my dad bought in 1995. It still runs smoothly and without any trouble. gives a decent mileage of 65-70 kmpl depends upon how you drive. My dad still uses it for city travel as well as some short hauls. . He still loves his splendor and does not like to part with it. Even though we have an XUV 500, Chevy Beat and a 2016 model Royal enfield Classic 350 ( He rarely touches the Enfield) in our garage, Splendor is his No.1 vehicle. Its not the bhp it has or the mileage it gives. It has been his companion for almost 24 years and has never ever given him trouble. and most of all.. its filled with many memories.
This bike was my first love. I still remember when i was in class 1 (2003) that the day my father came to pick me from school on this bike and asked me to recognise the bike from parking and did reconised my new RED SPLENDOR PLUS. Yes!! That was my new bike.
I started riding her by2010, i still ride her sometimes although i got a new r15 in 2016. She's old and ill but i still love her more than my R15.
Same with me bro father bought in 2004 I learnt in 2017 and still love from the beginning

Nowadays all bikes give up in 2-3 years, but Splendor is still on top in Performance, Mileage, Reliability & Budget of common man in urban as well as in rural areas,
You can see so many people around you who are still using this bike for more than 20 years.
This bike is working fine & giving mileage more than 50 km/ltr is actually incredible.
It deserve respect not humiliation.

My grandfather was former M.L.A from raigawon in 1971 the 1 unit of rajdoot was come to my home.it was brought from Mumbai. And my grandfather was the only one in whole district who owns a bike he was died at the age of 91. I don't even know faisal even I don't know you.now a days I live with my wife In Denmark from past 7 years i didnt come to India.but i know.when i was going in Delhi for my higher education. Many of my friends where used to be come with splendor where as I was used to be come with jeep.with my driver. Such a amazing bike this was I remember in delhi this bike was the most recommended bike by the peoples.u cant insult that person on the basis of splendor. Be ashamed of it
Hey faisal...i own a ns200 2017 bs4 model...i need to adjust back brake lever to a litle lower postion as i have to lift my leg n place it on the lever to apply brake..i find it lil diffcult....is it possible to adjust? When i asked the service centre guy he said its no possible...pls help me bro...i want to adjust gear lever too...

This was my dad's 1st motorbike, man this exactly followed what you said, fill it forget it.. 😉, even my friend bought this bike in 2014,and it beared so much torcher like triple riding, wheelies and still returned 60kmpl... The tyres are like cycle tyres... 😂, if you've reviewed this, then check out the bajaj platina also.. My friend's platina returned a whopping 108kmpl..kid you not... It is the real fill and forget bike... Check that one faisal... 😉

Great take on a legendary bike. But, no modern day review of the national bike is complete without paying due respect to Soichiro Honda, the bloody engine can outlast generations together.
Slipper clutch is present by default, no need to press when downshifting, it does without complaining.
And yes, the original pre cat con Splendors had a fantastic exhaust note. Try to get that for a review.

Splendor was my first ever bike of my life in my college days, there are lots and lots of memorable movements spent on this bike, today i own couple of Luxury cars and bikes but too i miss the days spent on this bike, its a lovely bike, those days Splendor was one of the beautiful bike in Hero Honda, i regret that i sold it..
There are billions of Splendours on Indian roads and our Faisal Bhai finds a twenty year old model with a huge wierd fog lamp which has a clutch lever on its right handlebar. Now that’s why our Bhai has so many subscribers. 😅
