    I've been searching for a Advent groupset since PLP reviewed it. Since I couldn't find it I settled for the R8 2x setup with a 50/34 and 12-46 cassette. It doesn't quite have the top end a more expensive setup would have but the range is pretty nice and the gaps aren't horrible. That is if you don't mind bouncing back and forth between the front rings a lot to find the perfect gear

    So glad I pulled the trigger on the whole set for my Ogre months ago when I found some stray bits on ebay and WW Cyclery

    I keep looking and I can’t find your comparison between the Advent X and Sensah groupsets. Did I miss it or did it never happen?
    I’m trying to build up a project and would love to see your direct comparison.

    is possible to adjust the reach of the lever like Shimano and SRAM? you mentioned that you had small hands but mine are even smaller! or do I need to use a shim?

  • @Fatbutnotflat

    How about the brake lever pull? closer to shimano road or SRAM? i am curious as sensah SRX one is shorter, like SRAM.

    • @LockedinCycling
      @LockedinCycling  Před 3 lety

      Make sure to watch my review on the sensah group, I think the shift action feels more like sram on this advent group, the shifts are softer or smoother feeling like shimano on the sensah group

    I've got this groupset....and even the 9 spd version on my wish list...lol
    I don't mind the external routed gear cable as that's been mainly the ones I have owned on drop bar bikes.
    Side question: I've also got that Roswheel Attack frame bag on amazon list. What do you think of it?

    I’ll be picking up the derailleur and cassette, but I can’t stand the aesthetics of the drop bar levers. I’ll likely use some sram apex or rival shifters (plus I like srams doubletap more). Maybe higher end levers if I decide to do hydraulic brakes. I’m not sure

      No the shifters and calipers need to be both hydro , but you can do a hybrid caliper upgrade

    • @LockedinCycling

      I doubt it would especially with the clutch on the RD, mayyyybbeee if you keep that off and you swapped the Left Shifter out, but I doubt it would work

    • @LockedinCycling

      @LockedinCycling  Před 5 měsíci

      No long term review but it worked well while I had the drivetrain on this bike. I had a series on “converting it into a 90s mtb” where I used the trigger shifter option and it always worked well.

  • @toxicblackwidow9841

    Microshift clutch derailleurs are good value for money and completely functional BUT not as thoroughly serviceable as (bit) more expensive SRAM and Shimano ones. I went back to Shimano and SRAM when I discovered that I couldn't fully disassemble my Microshift XCD 11 speed derailleur. If you can afford it Shimano and SRAM derailleurs are just better quality.
