- Some would say that Disney was making their best cartoons during the ‘90s, most notably with the jet-setting adventures of “DuckTales”! Scrooge McDuck and his great-nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie had all sorts of awesome adventures that rivaled that of Indiana Jones and even the most action-packed cartoons today! But as a kid, you probably had no idea of how much thought went into developing the show and making it as much Disney fun as possible! This week, life will resemble that of a hurricane as ToonedUp gives you 107 facts you should know about “DuckTales”!
“DuckTales" is a property of Disney Television Animation & Buena Vista Television.

Channel Frederator is cartoon central on the Internet.
Remember: Frederator loves you. - Zábava
The reboot for Ducktales actually confirms Glomgold as South African, but has an alter ego as a Scottish duck that we all love to hate.
RIP, Alan Young. No one else could voice Scrooge McDuck like you.
The reboot's cast David Tennant as Uncle Scrooge. I think he could pull it off, he's a good actor.
SuperSongbird21
He might be able to pull off a good portrayal of Scrooge McDuck in the reboot of Ducktales, but I know he will never top Alan Young's performances. It's like Mark Hamill's portrayal of the Joker from "Batman: the Animated Series". There have been other actors attempting recreate his signature performance, Troy Baker most significantly, but they never capture Hamill's formula entirely. Don't get wrong. Troy Baker did a great job voicing the Joker in "Batman: Arkham Origins" and "Batman: Assault on Arkham", he just won't top Hamill's portrayal. However, back to the subject at hand, if David Tennant was able to give a splendid performance as the Fugitoid from the Nickelodeon reboot of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", (which I highly recommend you watch it), then he should be able to pull off a good portrayal of Scrooge McDuck in the Ducktales reboot. We'll just have to wait and see.
Victor Hernandez Alen Young is dead? =0 =(
Victor Hernandez David tennant can
SuperSongbird21 Alan will be proud
I think it was a mistake leaving out Donald from Duck Tales. He really hasn't had his own platform since Walt was alive. Goofy has Goof Troop and A Goofy Movie. Mickey at least has the Epic Mickey series. Donald really has nothing.
Rebecca StarButterfly Unfortunately not. My family and I are Satan worshipers.
Depends, he does have his own comic which is massively popular, at least it is in the Netherlands haha
+horrorjunkie92 he has Quack Pack
There was an episode or two that he was in on Ducktales.
k hub jbh lj
2 - Actualy, Scrooge is more like a friggin' Chuck Norris, if you read his "life and times of Scrooge McDuck", you will understand.
7 - Actualy his nemesis is a Böer, a descendant of Dutch colonizers at South Africa, so he is more Dutch than African, despite the obviously Scottish name.
9 - The color of Scrooge's coins changed throughout the years, mostly the artist's preferences. Don Rosa, for instance, was much more detailist, so he used silver, copper and even stacks of bills. But others used Golden coins, barrels, chests and even added a bulldozer atop the mounds of coins. (yup, he is so rich he can drive a bulldozer over his money)
21 - Scrooge's greed fluctuated among his life, when he was young, he pursued more adventure then money, even refusing the purchase of a copper mine that would make him a milionaire to save his clan's castle in scotland. But after he earned his first 1mil and started building his vault, he became much greedier. After dismissing his entire family, he fell into depression, and gave up everything. He was pretty much saved by his nefews who brought him back to tracks and became much more like the show.
29 - Now thats really not paying attention. Since Disney's universes have several species of animals, its not odd the fact Scrooge polished the shoe of a dog character, and like Goofy and the beagle boys, those wear shoes.
73 - Donald's Sister, Dumbella can also be seen as a child alongside er brother donald in Vol. 2 of "Life and times of Scrooge McDuck", Donald and Dumbela are Twins.
86 - Scrooge McDuck speaks with a heavy SCOTTISH accent. he was bornt in Glasgow.
where do you get water, "Well, Actually"
Another awesome DuckTales fact: There was a crossover between DuckTales and Darkwing Duck in comic book form. At one point in the story, Launchpad actually convinces Darkwing that Scrooge is trustworthy enough to know his secret identity.
I had that comic! It was Aweosme!
Fun fact: according to Forbes.com, if Scrooge McDuck was a real person, he would have a net worth of $65.4 Billion, making him the third wealthiest man on Earth.
I was kind of hoping you guys would mention that...
like they could have replaced one of those different titles with that fact.
Is he really called Scrooge in English.Like the christmass story
In Dutch his name is Dagobert Duck.
+Nick Groenen Yes. His first appearance was based on "A Christmas Carol" in a 1947 comic as mentioned in the video.
And I would be 100% okay with that
+Rebeckai Naziya ssaahrt&dffre
I started watching the 2017 DuckTales because David Tennant voiced Scrooge... but the DuckTales series is barely about Scrooge, it's more about Donald's nephews. I love the updated theme song though!
Coming to this video now is so interesting with what’s happened now! The reboot was wonderful.
I would love to see 107 facts with either Garfield and Friends or The Garfield Show. Or both.
63: "Launchpad flew his plan[sic] over the Pacific Ocean and never returned..."
Nice one.
I love all the Indiana Jones references in this show. I was thoroughly surprised though that Indiana Jones had elements inspired from the comics.
one of the best shows of my childhood
It's been a while and I was very young at the time but I too was a big a fan of both the cartoon and comics (especially the one about the chickens with the square eggs). For #21 in the list, I remember Scrooge being very greedy early in the cartoon but his priorities were slowly changed as the innocence of the children took a toll on him. The episode about the Golden Rule really set him further from his old ways.
A great list and I'm really looking to forward watching the reboot with my nephews and nieces.
it would be great if they adapt "the life and times of scrooge mcduck" comics into a tv series. Oh how great would it be
*crying* oh yes!!
I always wanted to make a movie adaption on it, but it is hard enough to work or not on Act Of God.
Yeah, I think a movie adaption would be better..
or a TV movie
Abbey Bominable
The creator of the reboot is actually gonna add easter eggs from it and story line at the same time
Let's hope they add Darkwing Duck cameos
I love Ducktales! I have fond memories of watching it on Toon Disney when I was a kid. But what's funny is that when I went to the state Junior Beta club conference with my middle school out of nowhere they blasted the Ducktales opening over the loud speakers! (And this was in 2010 nearly 20 years after the show ended!) That was a fun moment in an otherwise HORRIBLE trip.
I would love if they made series of "The Life and Times of Scrooge Mcduck"

Fact #40 -- "Duck Tales" was the 1st American cartoon aired on Soviet TV after the Cold War... And that it true -- I grew up on this cartoon and it will always be in my heart! I was at the age of 5 when I saw the 1st episode and I fell in love with it immediately!
I'll add a 108 fact. At an early stage of developing the theme song, they wanted to drop the woo hoo. It seems like utter madness now, but back then the Disney execs thought it strayed to far from the brand they were trying to build.
#108: In an (official) Dutch comic series, Della's name is still Dumbella. In an anniversary title, she's also confirmed to still be alive
Johnny is is actually kind of funny I wish you would do more of the 107 facts videos
I was surprised when you guys failed to mention Goldie, Uncle Scrooge's secret sweetheart.
I completely forgot about this show. I liked how Disney did spin offs of characters from different shows/movies/comics. Like with the Jungle Book, the spinoff was Tale Spin and with the Lion King the spin off was Timon & Pumba
Dare I say? The Ducktales 2017 reboot will be even better then the original?
107 facts about Ducktales 2017

Does anyone else think about the Family Guy scene where Peter tried to dive into a giant pile of coins like Scrooge McDuck and a bunch of his bones break and snap out of his body on impact?
KSound Kaiju I know he is stupid
"The previous fact is actually just a rumor."
I was turning 1 when this show ended in spring 1990. But looking back I just never really got into it as a kid when they played it during the Disney Afternoon. At least the theme song is part of our generation and I like it. lol. I used to love watching Talespin and Gummi Bears and Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck when Disney Afternoon was popular in 1991-1992. Am I lame if I don't feel the need to re-watch DuckTales like most of my generation?
When we first went to Disney World in early 1992 we saw the live Disney Afternoon stage show in Duckberg at the Magic Kingdom and I kind of remember it, not just from seeing pictures.
And yeah I know Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers really aired on Saturday mornings and I remember watching it during breakfast on the old 13 inch black and white TV in our kitchen, but they must have replayed the new episodes during DA.
107 facts on DarkWing Duck would be so awesome

A cubic acre might just be my new favourite thing!
I remember the ducktales movie. We still have a copy. My mom has a recording on cassette of me watching it. I was born in august of 1990 and she said that was my first cartoon and the first movie I ever watched.
9:30 Really? Call me ignorant, but last time I checked, Glongold was played by the late Hal Smith, a.k.a. the voice of Owl until his death in the early 90's.
+joinmarch76 And a fantastic voice he did for the role. Video is definitely incorrect, no idea where he got that info.
Lupin the Third While true on both sides, I must ask, which role? Owl or Glongold?
+joinmarch76 Glomgold. His Owl was fine too but I was never all that fond of the W-t-P IP, even as a kid.
Eh, to each their own, I guess. Though you can't deny...Paul Winchell rocked as Tigger!
Well, there are quite a few errors and inadequac(k)ies to the "facts" in this list so I'm not surprised that they messed that one up.
Can you make 107 facts about Zelda PLEASE

+Luxia Luna
Yesss!
+Luxia Luna or hetalia I love that anime
Yeah!
I don't think they do episodes on chinese cartoons.
About fact 22: In Germany we have the bad habit of make new dubbing. So they made after a couple of years a new dubbing, where scrooge has a new voice, you can recognise it easily by the theme song in German (the lyrics are pretty stupid, it will be mentioned Mickey and Goofy).
I found a website about the new dubbing of Disney cartoons with petition to keep the initial sound track of Ariel, the little mermaid and other movies, where they tried to modernize the sound by other voice actors, other lyrics, other dialogues...
Some movies were not touched. Robin Hood with Peter Ustinov in the German version too for example.
10:00 - Launchpad flew his PLAN? Shouldn't it be PLANE?! ;)
How come the family tree is in Polish? ......or at least some sort of Slavic language?
+Mark G And I never thought being a Polack would come in handy.
+Mark G The comics the show is based on were crazy popular in Europe so it doesn't surprise me they got a bunch of extra knowledge.
why does Disney have a duck fetish
No no no no no, a question mark.
why does Disney have a duck fetish?
+Gecko because animals were where they started and they expanded on there animal universe
+Gecko Howard the duck
I think it would be cool now that Ducktales is getting a reboot that Gargoyles would get a reboot. I would like to see the same dark feel but a new cool art style.
I was ONE DAY late to realize the remastered game celebrated it's anniversary!
5:05 are overshoes, pulled over the regular shoes, to make them winter compatible. A kind of coat for the feet.
KACSAMESÉK GENERÁCIÓ
Following its departure from The Disney Afternoon, DuckTales still played in syndicated reruns (but not part of the Disney Afternoon) moved to Saturday morning syndication on the local stations of ABC, NBC, and CBS from late 1992 and remained in syndicated reruns to the fall of 1995. Reruns of the series come to Disney Channel in October 2, 1995 to October 27, 2000, where it was at first part of a new two-hour programming block called "Block Party" that aired on weekday late afternoons, with it returning to syndication between 1997 and 1999. While airing on Disney Channel, on April 19, 1997, it returned to the air when DuckTales reruns began airing on ABC's "Animal Broadcasting Company" Saturday Morning block, up until August 30, 1997, as a midseason filler for Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles. It even returned to syndication in September 1, 1997 to 1999. It started airing on Toon Disney in September 1999, with an 7-hour marathon followed by an airing the movie DuckTales: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.
