When I watched the Pinky POV episode I also got the impression that the gene splicing actually made both mice geniuses. Brain is a typical Einstein type genius, while Pinky is an artistic creative genius. While Brain is great at engineering, math, and hard science, Pinky would be incredible at creative writing, music, and art. Pinky is not stupid, rather his mind is always wondering with creative genius which Brain leaves very little room for when he dismisses him as a simpleton.

I agree. If Brain wasn't so dismissive of Pinky, and got him to focus on a "take over the world scheme", I'm pretty sure they would succeed at taking over the world. Pinky's creativity, the Brain's intellect, it would be a dangerous combination!

In all fairness the 80's series had a lot of occasions where the wrong voices came out of the turtles' mouths, with Rob Paulsen's coming out of Donatello at one point in the very first episode. So he TECHNICALLY wasn't wrong.
Look, I love Animaniacs, and Tiny Toons, but please tell me I'm not the only one who preferred Pinky and the Brain over those two.

My family had basic cable or the antennae when I was a kid in the 90's. So considering that this was WAY before we had decent cable tv with the glorious multi channels, I was happy with what I watched as a kid. ^^
@@CooperGal24 Same! Even for the 90's, we had more than just the 3 basic networks (ABC, NBC & CBS) when then new Fox network got started! Eventually leading to the successful launching of even newer networks like both UPN & The WB Television Networks; 2 brand spankin' new networks premiering in the same month of the same year, in 1995! Each new network, including Fox, housing their own share of kids' programming respectfully! Talk about humble beginnings!
I love Animaniacs, and the segments are the best.
But Goodfeathers is the best segment. Pinky and The Brain is a close 2nd.

6:43 I know this video was made 3 years before the reboot, but in the reboot it is stated that he wanted to take over the world because of a traumatizing experiment they performed on him which led to him wanting to be the one in control, not them. Honestly, can’t blame him.
If I remembered correctly, I've read that during the Christmas special, Maurice actually cried when he read out the lines when Brain read Pinky's letter to Santa.

Aaah, the silver age of animation, how I miss you. When you made pop culture refrences, you didn't need an entire episode to explain the joke (like making an entire episode dedicated to an old PC game, The Oregon Trail). Not a single forced storyline to be found that end up going nowhere (while present, they weren't AS frequent as today's story arcs in cartoons), and of course, an unforgettable cast of characters. Tho, The addition of Elmira was a sign of things to come in animation...
It was students stoners 10p space raiser crisps and cider and blackcurrant and watching these after a rave with a comedown half crying half comforted ahhh the late 1990s in England

I've watched this show when I was a little kid when I was visiting my grandparents at their apartment. This brings me back so many memories and nostalgia.
as a kid, I would try to watch tv very late at night and that's how I discovered Pinky And The Brain, that always came on at night as reruns when I was a kid as I was born the same year as Spyro The Dragon, anyway, I think Pinky And The Brain works a lot stronger when played at night considering the show takes place at night, seriously, give it a try, you might like it more when watching at night
One time while I was in Las Vegas, a girl asked me, "What do you want to do tonight?" I said, "The same thing we do everything Piinky, try to take over the world!" I don't recall ever seeing her again after that.

I know there's already too many comments here asking for it, but seriously, I've been waiting for 107 facts about Animaniacs for so long and it seems sort of weird to do one of the spinoffs before covering the show proper, even if Pinkie and the Brain did eventually grow into a wonderful and unique show of its own.
The "Pinky is the genius" theory is incredibly well-supported by all episodes of the show, and was my first impression as a kid.

Did... Really? Did you pronounce Mr. Freeze's name "fries" as in "French fries"? Really?
The "Yes Always" short from Animaniacs was based on the Orson Wells outtakes. What you missed though was that Maurice LaMarche would quote those outtakes whenever the audio engineers needed to check his mic levels at a recording. As a joke/homage to him they wrote the "Yes Always" short for him. Coincidentally, they recorded that episode right after Sam Kinison, a close friend of LaMarche, passed away. The Nerdist podcast episode with Andrea Romano is the source for this post.

The song says "ONE is a genious, the other one is insane" but never says which is which and I remember an episode (I don't remember if it was in their show or Animaniacs though) where Pinky corrects Brains's plans and they actually succeed... so...
