- Fixing mistakes in a linocut can be tricky. You cannot go back and reverse the cuts that you have made, but there are some other options. In this tutorial I will show you one way of repairing mistakes on lino by replacing the miscut area with a new piece of lino.

Thanks! Much appreciated. Great Video.
Thank you so much John! Appreciate the support 🙏❤️
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I was panicking realizing I'd used a wrong letter in a print and was agonizing over having to do it again. This video made new connections in my brain!
I love putting the fabric patch on the back. But here's a hint: Of course you have to cut on curves to follow the design in the left, but on the right where it's negative space or background, make your cuts straight. Straight lines are easier to duplicate than curves. ❤🌅🌵
your precision and patience makes this video feel so therapeutic and inspiring. awesome work
I can't believe i never thought to put cloth on the backside of a mistake! Brilliant!
Happy I could help! 😊
I always assumed that if you messed up- that was it and you had to start over! This was so nice to watch and you're so inspiring!

This is so genius! Thanks for sharing!
If anyone’s using speedy carve or similar easy cut blocks, I did this same technique with shoe goo (or another rubber adhesive might work) and it’s holding up great!
That's great to hear! Glad it worked. Did you use a fabric backing?
@@MaaritHanninen I did! Probably what really held it together while it cured.
Enjoy all of your demonstrations, and helped rekindled my retired linocut interests!
So happy to hear 😊

@@MaaritHanninen i was made a gothic lino print on a brystol , but i cant find a paper like yours… :c
Whats name of this paper ? Thank for the answer . You have beautiful works.
Really inspired by your printing. 🙏🏼 Is it a special tool you use to keep your lino tools sharp?
It's a flexcut slipstrop. You can also use a whetstone
Hey, did you make your strop yourself or where did you get it? I think that's what it's called, the leather tool you use to sharpen your carving tools, but I might be wrong.
Hello Maarit. what linotype are you using? traditional? softcut? or easy carver? Thank you :) I love your work
Thanks! It's tradition grey lino with hessian backing
how do you get these perfect lines and borders? Really amazing!
Thank you! Sharp tools and thin layers of ink usually do the trick
I have made light skip on what is supposed to be a black space. When I take a pencil and rub it across the area lightly you can see the skip. Do I have to start over?
I would ink it first and see if it shows on the print. Sometimes it's enough if you push some ink into the cut with a brush, especially if it's not very deep. Or if it shows on the print, you could try carefully painting over it with a small brush on the print itself. Just make sure to blot it with newsprint afterwards to remove any excess ink. Or you could try fixing it with milliput instagram.com/reel/CkGbLokIc0x/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=

Just regular PVA glue? like Elmer's in the states
Elmer's should work
