  • Here is a typical day in the life of a doctor working night shifts!
    In this video I show you my average routine to get ready to work a night in the life of a doctor. You can GRWM (get ready with me) for a night shift in the Emergency Department. Over many years of working in healthcare and doing countless night shifts, I have found a night shift routine that works well for me so I can stay awake all night with plenty of energy.
    If you're a medical student, interested in applying to medical school, a doctor or any other healthcare profession, or maybe you're simply interested ion what the real life of a doctor looks like, I have loads of other videos and doctor vlogs that you'll be interested in.

    When I did night shifts I had curtains that would let in all the light, but it never bothered me because I was out like a light 😂

    I love your vlogs. I’m on an access course to allow me to progress onto medical school. Currently waiting to see if I have an interviews 🙏. Proved difficult as a mature student who had to re take GCSEs and do an access but keep telling myself I will get there eventually.
    Eyelash extensions are great especially if you just want to go out of the door with no effort I do find they make my eyelashes thinner and can have some fall out. I prefer LVL which are more natural looking and don’t cause any damage. That’s my personal preference. 🙂 hope this helps x

    How frequently do Doctors usually work night-shifts? It must be a pain in the ass if you just get one or two night-shifts per week, because you are unable to get into a consistent sleeping pattern. I would prefer to do them in "blocks", so that I could get into the routine of going to bed in the morning and getting up in the afternoon.

    • @SarahNicholls

      I know what you mean! Switching between days and nights is really hard. It depends in the job and the hospital, some do them in blocks, others just give you sporadic night shifts 🤪

    Semi permanent eyelashes take so much maintenance and are so expensive! I would recommend a lash lift and tint you have gorgeous lashes don't damage them with extensions! Still love your videos!

    Emergency doctors are my favorite doctors because in my opinion they are the best to find a diagnosis. They always found a tricky diagnosis for my health problems.

    Hi , I'm someone who retook their a levels and got AAA via retakes (I really want apply for undergraduate med with my achieved grades) however there's only two universities that said they would most likely give me an interview with my grades/ucat, is it worth the risk?I only have 2 shots , or its worth it because with hard work it's likely/possible to pass the interviews? (One university guarenteed an interview and the other one said it would be likely) , I get this is a tricky question to answer

    • @SarahNicholls
      @SarahNicholls  Před 3 lety

      The way I see it is if you apply you have a chance of getting in, but if you don't apply you know for certain that you won't. If medicine is what you want to do then why take away the opportunity from yourself? Go for it :)

    I had the eyelashes they were beautiful only then the attack of hay fever happened and they got wet and curled under and I ended up looking like a scared spider was living on my eyes - they lasted 2 days
    So if you have hay fever and if you think you might cry with them on then I’d say don’t bother but if you don’t cry they might be a good idea

    • @SarahNicholls
